Why is razorservers.com the #1 result on Google for dedicated server hosting? The site also ranks well on Google for the keyword dedicated server. It outranks sites with a PageRank of 7 and 100k+ back-links.
Thanks

Hi & Thanks for the input!
I found the makeuseof.com links using open site explorer and it seems there are about 90 PR2 to 4 articles linking to razorservers.com all with the anchor text 'Razor Servers'. It's surprising to me this would be enough to even rank in the top 100 considering the anchor text isn't dedicated server hosting. I had not considered looking to see if the article had been shared via social media.

Hi Steven
Razorservers site is very good as far as on site optimization. They have a blog with fresh content and plenty of news. (Fresh content)
Also,
This site is ranking #1 because of articles like:
http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/15-sites-amazing-html5/
If you look at the article it has a great amount of shares. The link to rozorservers.com is in the author bio and it's a branded link.
Sites don't rank only on page rank, search engines are looking at social media interactions and authors that are building their brand.
Hope this helps.

I Got A Scraper Delisted From Google ...
I have an electronics niche news website. A scraper who had an online store selling products in my niche copied every one of my articles and posted them on his site under the heading "News" ... generally within 1/2 hour of me posting them on my site. His site was even showing up in the rankings before mine. I filed a copyright infringement claim with Google two weeks ago via their online form explaining what he was doing. Today, I received an email from Google saying that they have reviewed his site and have delisted it from the search engine. I just checked, and he is GONE ... completely delisted, no trace. My site traffic has also jumped at least 25% today. It pays to complain! Just sharing 😉

Advice on using google analytics and webmaster tools....for noobs?
I was wondering if anyone could suggest any resources on how to use GA and webmaster tools? I just sort of look and see my stats, etc...but I'd like to learn how to find my low hanging fruit, and try to help it rank better. I don't really use those tools as well as I should. I know there various spreadsheet's you can use, etc, but I haven't found a good (and easy to understand) resource that helps you learn how to use those tools together well. Thanks

Reached No. 1 for my Keyword, what next?
Hi, After months of targeting, promoting etc... I have now reached Google.co.uk rank position 1 for my phrase "creative recreation trainers" and I stand at rank 3 on Google.com. I am happy with these results as this is the phrase I targeted and this is the brand I wanted to rank first for. But were do I go from here? I am thinking I change brand and try work some magic on that, but still continuing to add backlinks etc... to the Creative keyword phrase? What would people advise? Also can anyone do an analysis of any sort on that keyword phrase and/or the url http://www.designerboutique-online.com/all-clothing/creative-recreation/ and tell me some good points, bad points, what to do next and so on? Any help would be great. Thanks

Google recipe search...
I just did a search for a recipe and saw something new. Google has a sidebar that lets you toggle on/off ingredients... Pretty nifty, and interesting. I did not have the recipe toggle marked, I was just using regular search "everything"

"keyword" - rank the home page or sub page domain.com/keyword?
One of my clients has a pretty decent website that ranks 1st place for most major keywords in their line of business. EXCEPT one keyword that i've been struggling to get 1st position on Google (currently 2nd). My problem is: let's say "tennis shoes" as a keyword the home page of course has several other shoes listed but I've seen that Google took my home page and made it 2nd position (on 1st page). Where the section domain.com/tennis-shoes is on 2nd page of Google. My question is should i rel cannonical from the /tennis-shoes section to the home page so it focuses more on the specific keyword that i need to get the home 1st? Or should i leave the home page generic and focus more on /tennis-shoes to get that 1st position? What do you Moz'ers Think?
