What are the top free tools to use in SEO (apart from SeoMoz of course)
-
Hi guys,
Can you point me the best free tools you're using for SEO (link building, etc.) - apart from SeoMoz - I'm kind of newbie in that area and in a discovering process.
Thanks !
-
Well I would then look at what you can carry genes either SEOmoz which you apparently have already and Majestic seo which is a outstanding tool you can earn raven, SEOmoz, Majestic seo and it is still pay less useing SpyderMate so that's what I will try
-
I tried buzzstream and seriously I don't think it's that good.
Well you can argue that it finds a few links opportunities but I'd say if you have a few programming skills you can do a far better job using various APIs around.
So, hummm not so great
-
Well I want to say thank you to everyone and welcome Zed to SEOmoz. there is another tool that is fantastic that thanks Stephen Moore outstanding tools is just great thing to use distilled the company that worked so closely with SEL models and took over their consulting work has a few tools and excellent training tool you can save 10% today with (10% off with 'blueprint' discount). It is an excellent system and I recommend it to anyone the matter how long they've been in search engine optimization.
"Enroll in DistilledU today http://www.distilled.net/u/

it is very easy to answer. SEM Rush, majestic Seo, hub spot and Raven tools
I hope that helps.

IMO this question is very difficult to answer. There are many different tools that may help one niche and not another. Also, there are many opinions on each tool.
Here is a great link for tools/articles that are rated by real people: http://inbound.org/tools

SCO 5 I'm so sorry man I thought I was talking to the other guy. I'm glad you agree I think as you must know as well is just gets ridiculous to try to actually run a real campaign on free tools.
All best man
is 100% worth it really the only way to do it is to spend the money. Take a look at this deal majestic seo and seomoz are the best for link building. All along with a great tool called http://www.buzzstream.com/link-building/plans-pricing#features which if you are a Seomoz Pro member you can get for 50% off and the total cost is only $19 a month take a look at the link. I would get that and to round it out spider mate
http://www.buzzstream.com/link-building/plans-pricing#features 19 bucks a month -50% 10 bucks
then I would actually pay for the $49 a month plan with spider after your 1st full free no credit card asked for month see how you like it but that way you'll have all your bases covered.
can I ask you what type of a platform your running on?
sincerely
Thomas
ps if you want some amazing tools for a 60 day trial Google hub spot 60 day trial if you use WordPress or any thing at all it will work very well. But I would stick with Buzz stream and spider I hope I've helped you
-
i agree with Thomas, free tools come with lots of limitations. It's worth it to invest money on solid SEO tools.

I hate to be that guy but
SEO Quake is a plug-in for browser or you can use it on the site in the light version but the full version costs and it's part of SEM Rush. http://www.semrush.com/prices.html
Backlink watch back link watch costs http://www.gtslinkbuilding.com/buy-backlinks
SEM Rush http://www.semrush.com/prices.html
Majestic SEO site explorer Another excellent tool whenever it does offer free version but it's not practical so if you want something that's worth anything here's the cost https://www.majesticseo.com/plans-pricing?
http://www.woorank.com/ It is not a free tool it cost money after 2 times a lot pricing http://www.woorank.com/#pricing
You just mentioned all excellent tools. all the Google tools are free however I didn't even bother to check out X-linked sleuth however I do believe it is free. Don't you think that this guy would be better off with a tool similar to Raven for $19 month SpyderMate SEO Tools does a lot for that money. I'm trying to keep him from having to do run one site and then move on to the next free trial.
I hope I have not offended you all because those are good ways of getting data and honest I wouldn't know them if I didn't use them however to use them in their full capacity or true capacity is extremely expensive.
Sincerely,
Thomas,
PS
if you can find a better all-around tool please tell me what you know of spider made popped into my head and I know it's good

100% free? Google Webmaster tools, Bing Webmaster tools there are light versions of many SEO applications if you want something that incorporates a little bit of everything like Raven tools does however does not cost nearly as much try SpyderMate SEO Tools http://spydermate.com/ for only $19 a month you get access to SEOmoz, majestic Seo, SEM Rush and Google analytics works with it. Like I said it's very close to Raventools And if you're just starting out it is a perfect way to go instead of waste your time with something that's free. There are tons of sites on the Internet that will give you quick breakdown of page rank and small things but will not get down to the nitty-gritty of the links, keywords, and content analysis. SpyderMate SEO Tools Does that for $19 a month. They also have free iPhone out that's really impressive. I think if you ask anyone else they will tell you an app that combines SEOmoz, majestic Seo, SEM Rush and Google analytics along with giving you full access to them like Raven tools for $19 is a steal.
I hope I have been of some help to you, please remember do not waste your time on the free stuff I haven't found any myself that's any good.
Sincerely,
Thomas Zickell

Google Webmaster Tools During GA Transition?
I'm working with a client that is launching a new website. Google Webmaster Tools can just be disconnected, then reconnected to the new Google Analytics property, correct? Without any data loss in Webmaster Tools? Thanks! Becky

Webmaster Tools Suddenly Asking For Verification of Site Registered for 5 Years
Google Webmaster Tools has been successfully installed on my website, (www.nyc-officespace-leader.com) for more than five years. Suddenly, today I have received a request to Verify this Site". This makes no sense. The only possibility I can think of is that this is somehow tied to the following events in the last month: 1. Launch of new version of website on June 4th
Reporting & Analytics | | Kingalan1
2. Installation of Google of Tag Manager
3. Sudden Increase in number of pages indexed by Google. Unexplained indexing of an additional 175 pages. About 625 pages should be indexed, while 800 are now indexed. In the last month ranking and traffic have fallen sharply. Could it be tat these issues are all linked? But the strangest issue is the request to verify the site. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks,

Webmaster Tools, why does it show 486 pages submitted to web, and only 40 indexed?
I am confused on what a client account shows in WMTs, client account is http://multiview.com. They have a graph showing 486 pages submitted to web, but only 40 are indexed. Also, they recently re-launched, i.e in April 2014, and the new site has about 40 pages indexed.... so I am guessing that the 486 number relates to all the pages that are showing errors in retrieving...i.e. 28 soft 404 errors, 10 access denied errors, 808 not found errors. Does this make sense to explain why there is such a gap between 486 and 40?

"not selected" is gone from Google Webmaster Tools Index Status Advanced
Just noticed today that the "not selected" has been removed from the Index status, Advanced section of Google Webmaster Tools. Anyone know why. I've used this metric to determine how or why Google was not selecting pages, particularly to gauge canonical's, 301's and duplicate content. It will be missed if gone for good.

Schema Rich Snippet Markup tool is validating the markup but it says it isn't in Webmaster Tools.
All my Schema Rich Snippets are being validated in the webmaster tools Rich Snippet tester tool here http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets But when I go take a peek at the new tab in Webmaster tools when I'm signed into my analytics account it shows there are no active Markups on my site. Has anyone else been having this issue? If it says it's working in the Google tool from the link above should I even be worried if its not showing up when I'm signed into my analytics account? Thanks.

Google Keyword Tool versus Google Analytics
Hi I'm trying to establish a methodology to best show the gap between potential and realised organic keyword traffic. To obtain potential keyword traffic I'm using the Google Adwords keyword tool to derive local monthly search volumes for exact keyword matches. To get the realised data I'm using Google Analytics. However, to get the I'm confused as to which is the best way of getting a comparable metric from Google Analytics (GA). I was using custom reports and the 'organic searches' metric. However, this provides different values to a standard report selecting non-paid search in the default advanced segments. What is the best report/metric in GA to use for both organic and paid search volumes that would be comparable to the Google Adwords keyword tool. Thanks Neil
