What's yor SEO predictions for 2013?
-
I think radical new search result snippets, move away from anchor text, possible Google pull away from non G+ social signals (in favour of rel author) could be highlights in 2013. What are your predictions?
-
Hi,
Thanks for your response, I actually agree with you on G+ growth. I said "possible Google pull away from non G+ social signals (in favour of rel author)".
-
I pretty much agree with Matt. Google has invested a huge amount of time and money in G+ - it's going to become a MAJOR focus in 2013 (even more so than it currently is). Be warned, if you don't have a G+ strategy, you'll be left behind (IMO).
As for the other points, well I just hope you are correct! Great answer BTW.

Now that it's all the rage, i believe there will be an algorithm update specifically to identify low quality guest blogging links.
-
- Mobile - this should grow exponentially. We've already experienced a huge increase in demand for customized mobile sites from our clients and are seeing a consistent increase in mobile visitor traffic in the regular monthly analytics reports
- Local - will continue to increase in relevance
- Content - i think we'll see the article directory submission tactic taking a hit with ongoing google updates
- Organic Traffic Growth - less focus on rankings as Google continues to evolve personalized searches and more focus on organic traffic growth overall and conversions
-
I agree with Matt. 2013 is going to be all about 4 things (IMHO):
- Google+ and authorship
- Optimizing for the Knowledge Graph
- Structured data
- Mobile
And we'll all be peddling as fast as we can to get on top of these when, without a doubt, something completely new will come along that we haven't imagined yet ....That's what makes SEO endlessly fascinating!
-
I think search engines will do what they do: continue to get smarter. They'll take into consideration author rank, definitely agree on rich snippets, but I doubt they'll pull away from G+ - the data is too much for them to ignore. I think we'll see G+ grow, actually.
I think SEOs will continue to talk about: content marketing, snippets, brands, big data, negative SEO, disavowing links, guest posting, author rank, citations.
The biggest thing I see changing now is that SEO is becoming a part of a bigger thing, call it "digital marketing" 2013? I dunno. People are starting to understand you need more than SEO or more than Facebook ... so we put social, SEO, email marketing, ppc - all into one bubble and do "that" for our clients.
No shock, I also think we'll see video & multimedia use grow. Mobile, tablets, phone searches, SoLoMo, etc. I think we'll see the beginning of the end of some spam as it stops working. Blog comment spam, forum profile spam, article spam - hopefully those 3 first.
These are the things we're starting to prepare for here. I'm interested in what others think will change and what will grow.

How much to charge for my E-commerce SEO services and web design
Hello, I'm starting a web design company doing standard web design, E-commerce web design, and E-commerce SEO. I've been doing the nuts and bolts of an E-commerce business with four online stores, one very successful, for nine years. Since that's my main experience, I'm sticking with helping others with the nuts and bolts of their E-commmerce SEO. I also do the web design, which I've been doing since 2001. What should I charge per hour for my web design and E-commerce SEO services? I live in Boise, Idaho. I'm thinking $100 an hour for everything, is that too much for web design or too little for SEO? The SEO would be billed exact but my web design estimates are more generous. Looking for honest opinions. I don't want to over or under charge. Thanks Bob

Does Sticky Post in WordPress Have Impact on SEO?
Hi, I Have a Blog that I have attached a "sticky" post, obviously the content in the "sticky" post is the content that I want to ensure that everyone sees. I do update, by adding new posts daily or at least everyother day, my question is: Is the "sticky" post hurting, helping, or is it indifferent to SEO? I know the SE enjoy fresh content, and was wondering does that fresh content have to pop-up at the top of the page otr not. Any input would be great. Thanks. Jimmy

What is the SEO term for Tree Search Engine results when we lookup for a company?
Hi Folks, I have a newbie question: When I do a Google search for: SEOmoz i get a SERP for SEOmoz in a form of a Tree, on the other hand if I search another company, let's say PAF.ca I get individual page results on google. Question is: What is the difference between the two, and how do we usually ask Google to display results of a Company name in the form of a tree or Main Category with Subpages in the SERP when looking for that company name. For my Visual Friends, Please find attached a Print screens that could explain my question a bit more. eAQpw.jpg

What are some good organizations an SEO company can join that are strong trust signals?
We are working on a website redesign, and want to prominently include some trust signals that help people feel comfortable with us. We're including logos of a few places we've guest posted, and also the BBB and local chamber of commerce. Do you have any other ideas on logos we can include that are good trust signals? Any associations or organizations we could join? We are a trustworthy company, we just want a way to communicate that visually, and it seems organization seals and logos are the way to go. Thanks!

SEO hosting (EU/Spanish IP's) any1?
Hello all, I'm currently trying to find a great hosting company which can offer a fast and stable service and more important, with the possibility of geolocalizing IP's of Europe and concretely for Spain. I've found Ixwebhosting but they only offer US Ip's, as their datacenters are there. I don't know if it's the same thing outside spain, but here the hosting companies only use to have a single "C-class" range so even buying them different IP's doesn't help that much, and it isn't cheap (2€/month/ip...). So if you know someone offering what I'm looking for (or really close to it) drop a line, I'll appreciate your help! 🙂
