Why is SEOMOZ Crawl Diagnostics not in sync with Webmaster Tools
-
Currently, my Website, according to the Crawl Diagnostics Summary, has 401 'Duplicate Page Title Errors'.
But in Google Webmaster Tools, under Óptimization on the Left hand Side Toolbar, if you look up HTML Improvements, there are only 4 'Duplicate Title Tags'.
I have two questions re this:
A) Do 'Duplicate Page Title Errors' and 'Duplicate Title Tags' have the same meaning' ? , and
B) why are there 401 errors located by the former, and just 4 by the latter?
-
Hi Anthony,
Thanks for the question. I took a look at your campaign and those errors specifically and they are indeed duplicates of each other. I won't go into more details as this is a public question. If you want a few examples I'd be happy to start a support ticket for you.
Essentially it appears you have a lot of pages that all have the same title and are all canonicalized to themselves so as far as our bot is concerned they are all independent pages.
Why GWT would report differently than your sites actual information, I could not tell you. This issue is easily verifiable by visiting the pages reported as having the duplicates.
If you'd like to discuss this in greater detail feel free to shoot us an email. help[at]seomoz.org
Cheers,
Joel. -
It seem as if Rogerbot doesn't read and comply with robots.txt - and sometimes ignore "nofollow noindex". For about a month i have had issues with an extreme high amount of errors and warnings, that i already dealt with.
Im still waiting for Seomoz to fix it. I think they are working on it. But i dont know.

I have more pages in my site map being blocked by the robot file than I have being allowed to be crawled. Is Google going to hate me for this?
Using some rules to block all pages which start with "copy-of" on my website because people have a bad habit of duplicating new product listings to create our refurbished, surplus etc. listings for those products. To avoid Google seeing these as duplicate pages I've blocked them in the robot file, but of course they are still automatically generated in our sitemap. How bad is this?

Google Webmaster Tools - Inappropriate Keywords
In December our website was the victim of a devastating pharma hack. Google Webmaster Tools never reported malware on our website, but our keywords within Webmaster Tools were all changed to keywords related to mens and ladies watches. Our Google organic search rank and resulting traffic has been dramatically impacted. Since realizing we were hacked, we rebuilt our website from the ground up with a clean and updated installation of Joomla CMS (from 1.5 to 2.5) and changed to a more secure server. As of December 21st, 2012, our website has been clean of the phama hack. We wrote Google and told them what happened. They replied with a "no manual spam actions were found" message. Unfortunately, Google Webmaster Tools still reflects all of the hacked keywords for mens and ladies watches. We are watching our Google Webmaster Tools everyday waiting for Google to remove the hacked keywords. It's been a little over a month and still only about 5 of the first 100 keywords have anything to do with our website. What do you recommend we do to expedite the removal of these inappropriate keywords in Google WMT?

Waiting 3 days for Crawl Test to complete
Being new to seomoz Im not sure if I understand the crawl test completely. You setup a campaign, enter all your info, rogerbot goes out and crawls your site and gives you results as to what your doing right and what is wrong or could use looking into. So once I get my results, I make edits to my site pages. In my case Im getting lots of duplicate content and duplicate titles. So I go back and make adjustments and then submit a crawl test to see the change results. In other tools Ive used in past I was able to re run crawl immediately and fine tune results on the fly. seomoz crawl test is still pending after three days. is this normal? or is there another way to make changes and run reports to see results instantly? If your working on many sites and making changes, having to wait 3 or more days to see how your changes were received seems like a long time.

Why does SEOmoz use /blog/content-title vs /category/content-title? Any difference?
Assume a brand new blog being designed and all other things equal. What are the pros & cons between using the url structure /blog/content-title vs. /category/content-title? Note:
