Hi Chiaryn:
I thought this would be a really helpful platform however it is more frustrating than not. I am not able to add competitors in my campaign. I am able to change the 3 that appear in the campaign but NOT able to add a competitor.

Thanks Miranda for the answer!
Nice to know you guys are active around here!

Hi Angelos,
Thanks for writing in. Unfortunately, at this time, we are only able to track competitors at the subdomain level within the campaigns and we can't limit it to just the specific subfolder or page. I'm really sorry about that!
If your competitor only has one page that is relevant to your business, you may still be able to get valuable information by adding the subdomain, since we will only report on the URL from their site that is ranking for your specific keywords.
I would recommend adding a request for the ability to limit which pages of the competitor subdomain we track to our feature request forum. Here's the feature request forum we use to collect ideas: http://seomoz.zendesk.com/forums/293194-seomoz-pro-feature-requests
You can add your request there and vote for other features you'd like to see, both of which help our product team in deciding what to build next.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

The problem is not that the link is new ( which is not ) it tells me that i cannot add links with /path.
The only problem is that the link i have as a competitor is www.competitorslink.com/magazine
nothing else.

What's the exact problem you're facing? Sometimes competing pages may cause problems if that page is relatively new. Plug the URL into http://www.opensiteexplorer.org and see if that page's stats have been indexed by SEOmoz yet. If you get some stats and still can't add your competing page, then I suggest you open a help ticket with the moz team

How much should I analyze my competitors?
Hi, Recently I've started a competitor research (aka competitive analysis). A few hours after I began, I've started to feel that maybe I'm doing too much unnecessary work. What I've been doing so far is analyzing the competitor's links (using the Dr Pete's Link Profiling excel and some other things), and their site optimization. The on-site optimization analysis has been very light, just to see if the competitors are doing something really well, or not. But still, I think that maybe I'm doing too much work. So, I'd like to see your thoughs: How much work is necessary when doing competitor analysis? What things do you analyse? And how much do you report to the clients? Thank you all in advance! Ivan

How to top competitor's article
Hello, For bobweikel.com I'm going to work on getting some natural backlinks by making a better article than http://www.medicinenet.com/weight_loss/article.htm even though they're 30 times more of an authority than me. If you think this is a good idea, how do you recommend I top this thing? I'm just brainstorming

How to combat competitor buying who is buying links and winning.
I have a competitor who is buying links in the Featured Advertiser Links section of Washington Post online. His backlink profile is a very low # of referring domains. (38ish) with a good bit being repeats of Wahington Post. My question, is their strategy within Google guidelines, and what can I do to combat it? Thanks.

Which top 10 organic results are my competitors?
Hi all, This is a question about whether the top 10 ORGANIC Google results for a broad match is your competition, or whether it's the top 10 for a phrase match, or an exact match. I'm a newbie here but not a newbie to the world of SEO. I hope to be able answer just as many questions as I ask 🙂 QUESTION: If a customer comes to me and says, "hey, who's my (organic) competition for wedding present?" and I want to use Google to get the top 10 organic results, do I use a broad, phrase, or exact match? It seems many people think an exact match is the way to go but I think they were more referring to Adwords results / competition. I'm not trying to determine search volume for Adwords or even the search volume for organic results... I'm only interested in the top 10 competitors in the organic results. No one types in "wedding present" (with inverted commas" when doing a search in Google, so surely to see who ranks organically for wedding present I'd want to simply type in wedding present (no inverted commas, aka broad match). I understand all the concepts about how Google results cary whether you're logged in, etc, etc so I don't want to get distracted by that. And I know there's a bunch of tools we can use like the SEOMoz Keyword Analysis Tool. But I just want to know specifically what people would use (broad, phrase or exact) to look at the top 10 organic competitors are when doing a manual search in Google.
