NoFollow Links from Subdomain to root domain better than DoFollow Links?

Our service at fotograf.de is a shopsystem for professional photographers. The customers can build their own website with our tool including an onlineshop to sell their pictures.

Here is my question:

One part of the customers use subdomains of our site like photographers.fotograf.de. On each customer website we include a backlink to our homepage www.fotograf.de.

From SEO view is it better to set these links as NoFollow Links?

Or should we put one Follow Link on the starting page on each site and on the other pages only NoFollow Link?

Are these links bad for our SEO regarding link diversity because they all come from one root domain?

I can't say that it would be better or just the same. I know that I would definitely try it and see what happens. That's a lot of SEO, trying things out see what happens. If it works, continue down the path, if it doesn't change course.

Yes, the links are site wide. Would it be better to set only 1 link on each site?

Are these site wide footer links on the subdomain site? If yes, they probably aren't helping you much at all if they are DoFollow or NoFollow.

Too many on-page links

I received a warning in my most recent report for too many on-page links for the following page: http://www.fateyes.com/blog/. I can't figure out why this would be. I am counting between 60-70 including all pull downs, "read more's", archive, category and a few additional misc. links. Any ideas or suggestions on this? Or what I might do to rectify? Perhaps it's just an SEOmoz report blip... We currently don't have the post list rolling to additional pages so it's kind of passively set up to be endless, but it's in the works.

Why is my domain not being crawled anymore?

I just noticed that right around 12/1/2012, SEOMoz stopped crawling all but two pages out of the 400 or so on my website at www.TrustworthyCare.com . I speculate that this is probably due to some dumb mistake I made at that time, but I can't for the life of me figure out what that mistake was. Before that, the weekly crawls included all 400 or so pages. I wonder whether it's something that changed in our .htaccess file. Here's how that file looks now; can anyone see what is wrong there, or perhaps offer other suggestions if it doesn't look like anything is wrong in it? Thanks! Domains and sub domains - newbie

Hi Recently set up my SEOM MOZ account so any help would be great! On the competitive domain analysis page the sub domain metrics appear as good (if not better) then the domain.The Moz rank and trust are better on the sub domain. I know the website copy is appearing on both non-www and also www (which I assume is being referred to as the subdomain) on the competitor domain analysis page). Should I now 301 the WWW site to the non-www.... which will then concentrate the SEO and SEOMoz then will only have the root domain metrics appearing? Many thanks for your help in advance!

How to Link build for our site

Hello, A client of mine has a site that gives advice to people. It's moderately competitive. It's a content site. Using Open Site explorer, I looked up competitor's top pages and backlinks, and there were things such as sites that were heavy on directories, sites heavily on editorial mension, sites on juicy topics that I don't want to cover, and the rest was pretty much junk. Just so that you know, I only link build with quality websites that look strong, long term, have a nice design, are high quality, and are not a directory (with a few exceptions) What's the standard way to link build with a site like this? We've got 7 articles of good content that is from me spending hours learning about the subject and using my skills as a life coach. Right now I'm just adding quality content and social media. I am not a top expert in the field, but I'm learning as much as possible. How do we link build?

No Local Directory links in Open Site Explorer?

Hi there, I just signed up for seomoz pro today and have been playing around in OSE looking at a number of local business websites that I manage SEO for. For all of them, I have put an endless amount of effort ensuring they have good quality, accurate business listings in all the local directories like yelp, yellowpages, hotfrog, tripadvisor, etc. For most of them, I did this months or even up to a year ago. However, I don't see a single link reported in OSE that is a result of my efforts here. Does OSE not report links from local business directories, or should I be concerned that I'm somehow not optimizing properly, or are these types of links of such little value that they don't get picked up, something else? Ok, seeing as I'm getting to the end of my first week as a Pro Member, I'm getting more and more feedback regarding the pages on my site. I'm slightly concerned though that, having logged in this morning, I'm being shown 407 warnings for pages with 'Too Many On Page Links.' According to the blurb at the top of the page, 'Too Many' is generally defined as being over 100 links on a page ... but when I look at the pages which are being thrown up in the report, none of them contain anywhere near 100 links. I seriously doubt there is a glitch with the tool which has led me to think that maybe there's an issue with the way my site is coded. Is anyone aware of a coding problem that may lead Google and SEOMoz to suspect that I have a load of links across my site? P.S. As an aside, when this tool mentions 'Too Many Links' is it referring purely to OBL or does it count links to elsewhere on my domain too? Cheers,

Cleaning up link profile

I've recently been trying to tidy up my link profile. We have been link building for a number of years and I decided to check it out and see how good our profile looks. I used OSE to give me a report of all external links pointing to pages on my www sub-domain. The results are scary! I have hundreds of links point to my site that originate from URLs such as the following url which attempts to start a download, use caution!!! <colgroup><col width="768"></colgroup>
