When setting up campaigns should I set a landing page up per campaign?
-
eg Home page is landing and and has 5 Keywords, should this be 1 campaign, and then 2nd landing page with 2 keywords is another campiagn. In my current campaign I have lots of "F's" for On site optimisation for keywords that dont have relevance to the landing page. Sorry about the newbie question.
-
So just to clarify Sam, On the Report Card page. I select keyword then change the URL then click grade my page. It will then give me a new report score.
Will the URL that I change the keyword assigned to save for the next weekly report

Thanks Reeves and Sam. I appreciate your help and time

John, I'm sorry. I totally misunderstood your question. No, I don't set up different campaigns in SEOMoz (I was thinking PPC Campaigns.) I only have one campaign setup for our webpage.
In the "On-page" section of your reports, click on one of the keywords that is currently graded as "F." Make sure that at the top that the URL being graded is the right one for the keyword. For instance, I want to make sure that my brand keyword "A&R Solar" is pointing to my homepage not to our FAQ.html page. For a "Solar Panels" keyword I want to make sure that the URL is our "Products" page.
I hope that clears things up.

Thanks Reeves. So in SEOMOZ you have a separate campaign for each landing page?

I'm also a newbie, but the tactic you describe is how I'm tackling our pages. We're a contractor that needs to rank for nearby cities. So my alternative campaigns (and landing pages) are for these locations.
My homepage is optimized for usability and branded key words. I also need to optimize for specific products that have their own landing pages that are integrated (or will be) integrated into the site in other ways.
The key to me is that when someone is arriving at the site because they searched for "Product X" I don't need them to land at a page that showcases company culture.
This also focuses my efforts so I'm not trying to hit product and informational and branded keywords all on one page.

On-page SEO
This is a question for the organic SEO experts, once you added the main keyword that you want to rank for in the homepage title, meta title plus meta description, perhaps once or twice in the text on the homepage. How often do you then write it in the content marketing, say blog posts, we want to rank higher on Google for "SEO agencies Cardiff" however if you mention this in the blog posts too much say once a week, this could lead to over optimisation issues?

Listing all services on one page vs separate pages per service
My company offers several generalized categories with more specific services underneath each category. Currently the way it's structured is if you click "Voice" you get a full description of each voice service we offer. I have a feeling this is shooting us in the foot. Would it be better to have a general overview of the services we offer on the "Voice" page that then links to the specified service? The blurb about the service on the overview page would be unique, not taken from the actual specific service's page.

Area pages
As area pages are seen as trying to game google (see link below) is their a 'better way' to target multipe areas (100 odd)? https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/2721311?hl=en Cheers

Page Not Indexed
Hi Guys I wrote and published an article last night on my site but it is yet to be indexed. This is strange as articles are usually indexed pretty quickly. Could you have a quick look and see what the problem is? http://www.rankmytri.com/tomtom-running-and-triathlon-watch/ Also all my Blog posts (in the blog section of the site) are not indexed as well (and I dont think they have been for a while) yet I dont have any messages from Google in my webmaster tools. Thoughts? Thanks in advance Ross

What to do with pre-panda gateway pages?
We used an SEO firm back in the day to create gateway landing pages for our site heavily optimized for certain keywords and phrases. They ranked well for years and then the panda/penguin updates hit and the pages no longer rank at all. The content on the pages is actually useful and decent (http://payloadz.com/info-sell-ebooks.asp). The html is over-optimized on keyword though. What should be our strategy here? The keywords and phrases are still important for us. Should we move the content to another URL with less HTML optimization, remove the existing optimization on the pages where they are? The backlinks are of poor quality as well. We have gone through a disavow process and still no affect on these pages after a month.

301 redirects from several sub-pages to one sub-page
Hi! I have 14 sub-pages i deleted earlier today. But ofcourse Google can still find them, and gives everyone that gives them a go a 404 error. I have come to the understading that this wil hurt the rest of my site, at least as long as Google have them indexed. These sub-pages lies in 3 different folders, and i want to redirect them to a sub-page in a folder number 4. I have already an htaccess file, but i just simply cant get it to work! It is the same file as i use for redirecting trafic from mydomain.no to www.mydomain.no, and i have tried every kind of variation i can think of with the sub-pages. Has anyone perhaps had the same problem before, or for any other reason has the solution, and can help me with how to compose the htaccess file? 🙂 You have to excuse me if i'm using the wrong terms, missing something i should have seen under water while wearing a blindfold, or i am misspelling anything. I am neither very experienced with anything surrounding seo or anything else that has with internet to do, nor am i from an englishspeaking country. Hope someone here can light up my path 🙂 Thats at least something you can say in norwegian...

Woah, my A-grade optimized pages that were on the first page have all vanished outside the top 50 in Google... is this Panda?
Yep as mentioned, I had some pages hit the top ten pretty quickly after ensuring they were A-grade for pretty uncompetitive keywords however, today, all bar 2 have just vanished from the top 50! All were ranking in Google.co.uk and I know we were predicting the Panda update to hit soon but WOW! My client is understandably a little upset, what on earch do I tell him and what should I do about it? Cheers! jT
