Google Places Account
-
Hi,
I'm doing Google maps optimization for my local clients, so she uses same login for personal Gmail and Google places, is there a way to change a password for Google places, without giving away her password that she uses for personal Gmail?
Thanks for help.

The business name, address and telephone number belong to the entity. Changes to the information are verified via a google phone call to the company's phone number or a postcard sent to the company's address. Anyone can make the changes to a places page but the changes are not actually implemented until they are verified by the business via a phone call or postcard.
So, if you make the changes while logged into YOUR google account, that company will forever show up in your Google places dashboard--even if someone else makes changes to it from their account in the future. This doesn't mean you've claimed the business--it just means you've made changes to it. I have, for example, many, many companies that show in my dashboard. Each of them I've coordinated with to set up or revise their places page. I make the changes, prepare them to be ready to get the automated phone call with the PIN (it happens in less than 20 seconds) or to be on the lookout for the postcard with the PIN (takes about two weeks) and when they get the PIN, they give it to me, I enter it into my dashboard, and the changes take effect. You don't need to be in the client's google account to do this.

Hi Tonyklu,
She'd have to have separate accounts, I believe - one for her gmail and another for Places. I do not, however, recommend that you claim her under any account of yours. Clients should always have independent control of their properties. Hope this helps!

Google Places or Google+ Business page?
With Google Places, you can add them to your own Google Places dashboard (http://www.google.com/local/add ), edit the business info, and a post card or phone verification will take place as usual with the client company (you can have Google send a verification post card with a PIN in about 2 weeks or You can have Google immediately place an automated call to the business phone number on record and provide a PIN). Once verified, the client gives you the pin, which you enter at your dashboard and the changes then take effect. Some changes don't need to be verified.
If it's Google+, the owner of a Google+ personal profile will need create a Google+ Business Page from within their personal profile and then make you a manager of that page, which you will then be able to administer while logged into your own Google account.

Understanding Average Position in Google Anaylitics
Hello here, I have a question about the Queries report under "Search Engine Optimization" in Google Analytics: is the "Average Position" information a reliable one? I have a lot of queries that appear, from that report, to average first position, but when I verify that on Google by connecting anonymously, I can't even find my result on the first page! To me, that information is worthless and makes me think all the rest of that report is unreliable. If anyone can help me to understand it, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you in advance for any thoughts.

Is Google doing anything about the spam referrer plague in Google Analytics?
My client manages 15+ websites and we have observed the spam referrer issue has gotten steadily worse and worse in the last few months. I took the time to weed out the worst offenders via traffic filters but our referral traffic source garden was quickly full of weeds again a few weeks later. Does anybody know what the Google Analytics development team is doing to combat the spam referrer issue? I find it quite amazing that Google goes through the asinine effort to block out organic keyword data ("not found" & "not provided) but they don't seem to care about blacklisting/filtering spam referrers. Google Analytics - Adding a sub-domain
Hi I have a google analytics query.
Reporting & Analytics | | Niki_1
I have a main site with a google analytics tag and I have 2 forms that sit on a subdomain with a different GA code. As I would like to measure end to end tracking, I would like the same GA code on the subdomain. What is the best way for me to implement this? Would I need to make some changes to the GA code that sits on the main site or can I add the the GA code from the main site onto the subdomain? Thanks0 -
How can I track my rankings on Google Images?
I noticed a small amount of traffic coming from a particular very generic keyword. Being pleasantly surprised that we are ranking for this, and after some digging, I found that we are actually ranking in Google images, rather than in the web results. How can I track whether other keywords are ranking in Google images? I use Rank Checker to track keywords in the main web results, but this doesn't have a function for Google Images. Help please - thanks.

How can I see what Google sees when it crawls my page?
In other words, how can see the text and what not it sees from start to finish on each page. I know there was a site, but I can't remember it.

Setting up Google Analytics for Subsites
I currently have one main .com site and am planning on launching geo-location subsites .co.uk, .com.au, .ru, etc... Traffic will flow between both sites and some of the content on the subsites will be duplicate and therefore include a canonical tag to the main site. I want to set up GA to capture who is going to the subsites and vice versa and correctly capture crossover traffic. Any advice on implementing advanced analytics directly (or links to sources that will direct me the right direction for this project)

RE: Google Analytics keywords metric and appropriate keywords
Greetings, When running Google Analytics' keyword report, I see that the over 85% of the top 100 keywords used to find us include a word in our name (Eagle's Nest Foundation and Camp -- with "eagle" or "eagle's nest" being the most frequent) or the name of one of our programs. Does this mean that most folks searching for summer camps in North Carolina already know about us and that we therefore need to optimize for broader keywords, to cast a wider net for folks who don't already know about us? Thanks, Dave
