Video Embeding

I would like to ask if somebody know what is the best way to embed video on home page. I read that google does not read i frame.
Also it is a problem if i have featured video on home page with link to post where is again the same video?
Also it is not a problem if I plan to be changing the videos on the home page in period of the time 1-2months?
Also, people can embed video from there, is this not a problem?

It's only true if there's actually a text link back to your site included underneath the embed code itself - which the standard vimeo embed does not provide.
If you'd like to rank for the videos, I recommend disabling the community pass straight away, as otherwise Vimeo.com can outrank you for your own video.

So now I am confused:-( We are using vimeo paid account where we can control who will embed our video. For now we let the videos to be shared as we want to get views, however we plan to disable it in the future.
I thought that the more people will embed and share the video from our site, it is like they would be giving back link to our site and it will be good for our site...is this not true?

Vimeo is OK, as long as you "disable" the community pass. If the videos are visible on vimeo.com, then it's essentially the same as putting it on YouTube and vimeo.com will get the credit

I can't say if the traffic from youtube is good or bad(our Channel is new so we have very little traffic from there) but what I am definitely sure is that it really can't be good if I will have the same video on the site like other 500 people...:-(
Our videos are uploaded from vimeo to our site.

100% not true at all.
YouTube drives an incredibly small amount of traffic from links to websites in every single case I have looked at.

I personally would suggest against youtube and vimeo embedding in your situation ---- read what SEOMOZ associate Phil Nottingham has to say in this thread on a similar topic.
In essence what you are doing, is not really the goal or audience of Youtube in my opinion.
Look into Wisita, not only do you get conversion integration, detailed analytics that can help you make informed decisions about the videos future, Wistia is actually seen as content, so can be indexed as rich snippets.
With that said, you can also keep it in Youtube and VIMEO, and it will not be duplicate content, just use Wistia on your homepage....

Thank you Kade, I actually have the videos on youtube and linking to the site, but on the website they are uploaded from Vimeo.

I would be posting these on YouTube with a link to your site and not worry about the "unique" factor in your case. YouTube is a great source of outside traffic. If your videos are quality, they will drive traffic.

Thank you Kade. We are using Vimeo paid channel as I googled that Youtbe can degrade your site and plus your content will not be unique anymore. But it might be not true, however.
We featuring properties videos and want people actually watch it and go to listing and book the villa. And there is again the video, I do not know if this is a problem, something as duplicate content.

What exactly are you trying to do with your video? Are you trying to get people to understand a product? Are you trying to drive traffic to your website? If yes to either of these, uploading to YouTube is not going to hurt you. Embedding the link from YouTube on your homepage most likely will not hurt you. It may not help in the sense of having unique content, but it will help keep people on the home page longer.
Changing the video every 1-2 months can help if you have a lot of repeat visitors. Repeat visitors like fresh new content.

Video on Site Before Youtube?
We are going to create a few 1 - 2 minute instructional videos. I will be creating a blog that will include the video for our main website. I want to say I read or saw (Whiteboard Friday) that Rand Fishkin mentioned to place the video on your site first for about a month (or weeks). Then, you can publish it on Youtube etc. It sounds like a good plan. Have Google index your blog with the video and receive organic traffic. Then place it on Youtube. Is that correct? Is that the best practice? Like i said, I think it was Rand that discuss this. Would love to get feedback. Thanks.

Can you get rich snippets for Youtube hosted videos?
My website has several videos, mostly product reviews and tutorials. I'd like for these videos to show in the SERPs with rich snippets, but I am hosting them through Youtube. What is your experience with Youtube hosted videos? Do they generate rich snippets? Or will Google always rank the Youtube video over your web page?

Vimeo Pro, video SEO and rich snippets
Hi All, we are producing product demonstration videos. One major aim with these videos is to help our rankings for these specific product pages and associated keywords... and to get rich snippets displayed on Google results pages against our listing. We have used schema.org markup in the product pages body code along with / next to the embed vimeo video code on the product page in order to hopefully get us rich snippet listing... we used schema.org markup as this seems to be the main current markup for rich snippets we have hosted the video via Vimeo Pro so that it is served quickly and not affected by speed of our hosting server or any possible bandwidth issues on our hosting server and ensure sthat the traffic comes to our site pages rather then Youtube or similar Vimeo Privacy settings for the video have been set so that we have not allowed it to be embed anywhere except for our own domain and the video is not displayed on Vimeo.com to ensure that the video is not duplicated anywhere else... so that this is unique content on our own site for maximum value for our domain We have used the "old code" from Vimeo Pro for embedding the video on our product page rather than the current iframe code as from what i understand Google cant follow very well and doesn't necessarily trust content displayed in iframes. Schema or Google Video Sitemap

Getting indexed into Google video search
I have a website that has videos hosted from youtube.com embedded onto it. I created and uploaded the videos to youtube and want them on my website. My question is which would be a better option, hosting the video on my website or embed them from youtube? I currently have them embedded onto youtube but when I do a Google video search I cannot find my company's website anywhere. My videos are shown on the results but they are linked to youtube and not my website. Is there a way to get the search results to show listing of the videos posted on my website?

Video Sitemaps
Hi, we are having some issues on our video site so I don't think we will be able to host them for a while, I think we will be uploading them to YouTube, so is there a tool/software that can help me make video sitemaps for my videos in YouTube? Thank you all!!! PS. I think I saw Rand or Danny a while ago in a video taking about a great tool for YouTube sitemaps, but I just can find it.
