Is there a problem when passages of text are repeating on varios pages?
-
Hi Everybody,
I am working on travel-pages and there are 4 tours that all start their itinerary in "Manaus", so I have 4 pages containing all a passage of the same text about Manaus.
How will Google interpret this? Just pick one of the four pages in relation to Manaus Keywords and index, or index none of them?
What should I do, because there is no canonical tag for parts of pages?
I'm curious about what you think
Best regards,
Holger -
Hi Takeshi,
now I realized that my client is offering 4 tours in the amazon. He is just mixing the attractions and length of the items to create different tours. So there is a lot of duplicate content which may result in his bad pagerank (although his pages are ranking). On the one hand its good to see different combinations of itineraries but I think the concept of such a site should be different.
Each attraction with unique content should have its own page to be able to focus on different keywords. Then he should propose possible combinations of these attractions without repeating always the same content.
This will be the only way to make the site better... right?

A short excerpt is fine, as long as it's surrounded by larger amount of unique content.

The text is about 150 words. Basically I am curious if a small exerpt repeating on varios pages with different and unique content can have a bad influence on these pages?
Thanks for your help.

Did you mean 20-30 words, or 20-30 lines?
Having a small excerpt of content across multiple pages is perfectly fine, as long as each page also has additional unique content. If it's a significant amount of content, though, I would try tailoring the content to each specific tour, or maybe include an excerpt with a link to the page containing the full description.

Hi Takeshi,
my client has a travel website where he is offering 4 different tours in the amazon. The itinerary is basically different for each tour. BUT all the tours start in Manaus, so there are 20-30 lines of text talking about Manaus and what they will visit there...
Its just a small part of the pages with the same content about Manaus... so a redirect does not work as well as a canonical tag does not work here.

Why do you have 4 pages with the same content on it?
If it's not necessary to have 4 pages, then pick the one with the highest page authority, and use a 301 redirect to point all the other pages to the main one.
If you need the pages to exist from a user experience perspective, then use a canonical tag in the header to point all the duplicate pages to the main page.
If you want each of the pages to rank for different keywords, then create unique content for each of the pages.

The original page : http://www.dwliverpoolphotography.co.uk/blog/ and the duplicate content page : http://www.dwliverpoolphotography.co.uk/author/david/ If anyone can point me to  a  resource or explain what I need to do thanks! Page Speed
Google recommends a page load speed of 1.4 seconds, is it recommended to have that page speed for every page on the site, or just the landing pages. Is there a tool that will check the load speed of every page on a site and report the slow pages? The free online tools only check one page at a time.

Too Many On-Page Links
Hello. Â So, my SEO team has worked very hard to finally resolve RogerBot/GoogleBot specific Crawl Errors either manually or programmatically can be fixed for our Budget Blinds USA Pro Campaign. Â We've done a good job even if a lot of it came from Robots.txt file entries as this was the most efficient way our client chose to do it. Â Good news is most of it is CMS configuration and not bad site architecture. That being said our next big volume of Crawl Errors is "Too Many On-Page Links". Our Moz DomainRank is 61. Â Our client, on this new version of the website, added a large nav-based footer which has duplicate links from the Header Main Navigation. I believe our solution is to put in No-Follow Metatags at the Footer Link Level, so we don't zap Page Authority by over-dividing as you recommend. Is this the best way to resolve this? Â Is there any risk in this? Â Or is a 61 DomainRank high enough for RogerBot and GoogleBot to crawl these anyway? Please advise,

Too Many On-Page Links error
Hello, I am new to this. The crawl of y website reveals that "Too Many On-Page Links" were found on many pages of the website. However, when I check those pages, not more than 5 links are found- I have not included links outside of the post (sidebar/comments/related posts - are these counted in the crawl report ?). I do use SEO SmartLinks Plugin where in some keywords point to Wordpress Categories but am not sure whether that could be the problem at all. Can someone guide what the issue could be and how to debug ?

Anchor text in Ecommerce site without relevant pages
I'm posting articles to my e-commerce site and just wondering about the anchor text links within the posts. I don't have relevant static pages but the items do come up in a search query. For example i don't have a specific page for red wine but if a user searched for red wine it would give a search query URL. Should I use that search URL query as my anchor text?

My website is saying I have duplicate page content and page title. How do I fix it?
Hi, I created a website on webstarts.com. After I launched it then ran a scan through SEO it says I have duplicate page content and page title. The 2 pages it is reading are technically the same page. www.mobilemowermedicsinc.com and www.mobilemowermedicsinc.com/index . I am unsure how to get rid of on of these as it keeps saying this is an error in the SEO scan. Could someone please advise me of what to do from here. Thanks!
