Blogger or Wordpress?
-
Which one should i use to start my blog on my own domain name?
-
I've got to agree - use WordPress!
-
Use Wordpress, and wordpress.org, not just wordpress.com with your own domain name. With wordpress.org you'll own and host and control the content and can implement 301s and whatever else is needed. You have freedom and options you don't get when it's hosted elsewhere.

Agreed with the majority here. Wordpress. I have two blogs on there currently and think it's super simple with plenty of awesome plug-ins.
-
An alternative response, just for the hell of it - I have recently seen examples of Google giving a massive boost to blogspot
http://www.google.co.uk/search?sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=curly+hair+images
I trawled through a number of hair related queries and there is a massive over representation of blogspot sites appearing high in image search
If your doing images, Id give it a try

ja - wordpress- so many and usefull plugins!
-
I'll add a vote for Wordpress. I love it.
-
+1 Wordpress.
-
Based on reputation and a limited amount of feedback, I would suggest using your own domain name.
Before making your decision, try Google: "Dont use blogger" and "Dont use wordpress".
Of course there are plenty of people who use each service and are quite happy. Since you are asking the question, you probably want to hear about a few negative experiences so you can make the right decisions.
-
I have used both and Wordpress is by far the best. Lots of great plug-ins. Very versatile and customizable. A little harder to install and customize but there are lots of capable people who can help you for a fee.
-
Wordpress - you can't beat it for most websites.

Is joomla better than wordpress let me know your thoughts
Hi, i am wondering if wordpress is better than joomla. We have been having a talk and been wondering if our main site www.in2town.co.uk should stay in joomla or if we should think about moving it over to wordpress. I would like to hear what people think, if wordpress is better than joomla for a magazine or if we should stick with joomla and forget about moving over to wordpress. It would be great to hear people's opinion and maybe some examples of popular magazines or newspaper sites that are using wordpress instead of joomla. It would also be interesting to know how hard or how easy it is to move across to wordpress from joomla. Would value your thoughts on this issue and find out which is better for seo. many thanks

With the structure of WordPress when multiple tags are selected, SEOMoz reports show each URL/tag as duplicated content? What to do?
wordpress.com/blogpost/tag/word1 wordpress.com/blogpost/tag/word 2 etc. Same page, but WP generates multiple URLs for each tag. in reports, this shows as duplicate content. Is it something to worry about? If yes, what is the best fix?

Rel Canonical In Wordpress
I'm using Wordpress with the Thesis theme (which is great by the way). It puts in a rel canonical for each page. Is this correct? I had always thought that the rel canonical just went on the home page telling SE's the preferred home page address. This appears to be telling SE's the preferred web address for each page.

Meta Title and Description Placement in Wordpress
I noticed in wordpress code that the <title>and <description> are not at the top of the code and rather located a ways down the code and not displayed how previous sites used to be.</p> <p>Does this still matter for SEO.</p> <p>I thought it should have been,</p> <div id="syn_row5" class="SYN_TXT"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"><<span class="HTML_ELM">title</span>></span><span class="HTML_TAG"></<span class="HTML_ELM">title</span>></span></span></div> <div class="SYN_ROW"> <div id="syn_row6" class="SYN_TXT"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"><<span class="HTML_ELM">meta</span> <span class="HTML_ATR">name</span>=<span class="HTML_VAL">"Description"</span> <span class="HTML_ATR">content</span>=<span class="HTML_VAL">""</span> /></span></span></div> <div class="SYN_TXT"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"> <div id="syn_row6" class="SYN_TXT"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"><<span class="HTML_ELM">meta</span> <span class="HTML_ATR">name</span>=<span class="HTML_VAL">"Keywords"</span> <span class="HTML_ATR">content</span>=<span class="HTML_VAL">""</span> /> (if still needed ?)</span></span></div> <div class="SYN_TXT"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"> </span></span></span></span></div> <div class="SYN_TXT"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG">Is there a way to do this in Wordpress? Duplicate Content on WordPress Blogs?
We are getting ready to add a WordPress blog to our established website. Our plans are to place it in a subfolder on our website to maximize rank. My question is...Do we need to utilize a Meta Robots WordPress plugin by Yoast or similar so that noindex, follow robots meta tags will prevent search engine indexing of search result pages, subpages and category archives? We want to avoid the dreaded Duplicate Content Error and penalty. Any other great SEO WordPress plugins? Thank you for your time. Brian

What are the best reasons not to use Wordpress as a CMS?
I'm a big fan of Wordpress (.org) as a content management system. However, I recognize that Wordpress isn't necessarily the best CMS for all ocassions. For those of you who don't like Wordpress, I'm interested in understanding your strongest reasons against. So, why not Wordpress?
