Article Writing / Guest Post
-
Hi,
What are the advantage of posting an article / Guest post which
-
Doesn't have any links to my website (Just the name of my website)
-
Links are no follow
-
Links are do follow
In advantages, I am talking mainly about SEO benefits and not referral traffic.

OK, strictly from an SEO perspective as you request:
- Slight, but potentially worthwhile. There has been a lot of talk of lexical co-occurrence or co-citation (co-occurrence would be more accurate) that talk about Google being able to recognise your website or brand as an authority in its industry even without links. In short, if your site can be cited on a number of authority websites, even without links, Google may see it as an authority and promote it in search engine results. Here are a few relevant posts:

I think we're a way off seeing this as a major part of the algorithm, but there's no harm in preparing for it.

More influential than 1), but in essence it is a link to your site that is telling Google not to pass on any PageRank, thus it shouldn't give any SEO benefit. There are a few case studies that, over time a nofollow link will pass value (such as this one), but I wouldn't see it as beneficial as a dofollow link.

The biggest benefit SEO wise. If the link is relevant, contextual, from a page with not a lot of outbound links and on a quality website, it can be a great link for your site. Of course, if the link comes from an irrelevant site, with loads of spammy links, lots of outbound links and your link appears in the comments, footer or blogroll, it could actually do more harm than good. So it obviously pays to research the site before hand.
Having said all that, I'd always combine guest blogging with engaging with an active audience, not just exclusively for SEO. But as requested, there's my analysis and I hope it helps!

Benefit of Guest Blogging with weak relevancy
No - not that awful kind of guest blogging Matt Cutts called time on - but legitimate blogging on quality websites. Just thought I'd get that out of the way first 😉 I work for a legal services provider as a Content Marketing and PR Executive, and I have a regular spot guest posting on Search Engine People which I acquired in my previous role at an SEO agency. As I'm still working in the industry (in-house rather than for an agency) I thought I'd carry it on, not only because it's good for me personally, but because it'd also be a nice link building quick win from a good site with a strong DA. My question is, with next to know relevancy between domain-domain, page-domain, page-page, is there much value in the link? To be clear, I'll be doing it anyway, but the answer might inform whether I do it under the guise of an employee of my company or just as myself. Thanks all!

More guest blogging penalties coming?
Does anyone foresee any future guest blogging penalties coming from google if the guest blogs are high quality blogs? I'm wondering if a future google update is going to hit even more sites that have used guest blogging as guest blogging continues to grow. I like guest blogging to drive traffic to my site but am scared to used it for fear of future updates in the algorithm. Thanks mozzers!

Google Authorship and Guest Posts
I'm including my google author details at the bottom of guest posts with a link to my site. Is this not giving google a clear signal the that it is a guest post by me and although the site owner has found it worthy enough to include the post on their site it's not really an 'editorially given link' in the true sense of the term?

Do links from the second page of an article pass link juice?
I have been writing for some sites with a high overall page rank and the articles are being viewed as quality by search engines as well. However, they usually put a link to my site at the very end of the article and then break the article down into two pages to increase ad revenue. It seems that I'm not getting much credit for that link even if the page has a high SEOmoz/PR score. I want to know if I am getting the benefit from these links. If not, how do I make sure I get the most bang, even if my link is on a second page of the article? Here is an example of what I mean: http://www.forbes.com/sites/theyec/2012/08/22/kanban-for-customers-how-to-increase-transparency-in-your-business/

If I write a PR release on a site such as PRweb with anchor-text links that is picked up and published by other news sites, do the engines consider this duplicate content or additional, beneficial links?
I recently wrote a news release on PRweb that was picked up identically by 8 other news websites, with the same anchor-text links as the original. Is the reproduction of duplicate content and links across different websites like this to the benefit or detriment of SEO and ranking power? Some of the links are: http://www.mynewsdesk.com/uk/view/pressrelease/eventa-new-eventa-christmas-parties-website-is-launched-648923?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=Alert&utm_content=pressrelease http://www.prweb.com/releases/christmasparties/neweventasite/prweb8562064.htm Many thanks!!

Charity / Donation - Website and SEO
I have a prospective client looking to do SEO- they are a charity and have a fixed one time budget. (The budget is surprisingly high) They are looking to have their site ranked for "charities in (our city)" and "dental charities" and any keyword variations. Adwords shows significant search volume and ranking difficulty is moderate per SEOmoz keyword difficulty tool. On page will be fairly simple and well handled, but am looking more towards the authority and link building. I am going to tackle 3 top quality directories, Yahoo, BOTW, and Business.com (as well as DMOZ but i've never had luck). But was wondering if there were any other nationally recognized sources that mozzers know about that would be a good place to start to get some links to the site. The organization is a clinic that provides free dental work to veterans. I have never handled SEO for a charity before, and my first instinct is that getting a link to the site will be much easier to get than if I ask them to give money to the foundation, so they would be glad to do it. Any other guidance would be appreciated. And I can give more details if necessary. Any other tips and insight would be appreciated. Thank you! Ian
