Business with Google + Business Page not showing with map
-
Hi I set up a Google + business Page for a client and we claimed their address (it shows in the Google Maps page fine. The page has been created for a while now but when you search for this business it does not show the map to the right? Any thoughts? BTW we have two locations and both have separate pages - thought this could be the issue but then when I added the business name + the location still not showing.

A funeral home is not a service area business. So, the question then is are you set up as AC_Pro suggested in Places for business? Here is the link to Google Places for Business. You should be able to sign in with the same account info as your G+. Do all there that is needed and when you get your postcard you know what to do.
I hope this helps; if we have missed something in this group of answers, please let us know and we will assist you. Also, we have a great Local person here (not me, she is smart) who is happy to help out others with short lessons, etc.
Best to you and your clients,
Robert

Hi Robert,
Thanks for the instructions. Is it a service area business?- no I dont think you could call they are a funeral home / cremation service so I think I should go ahead and create a Google Places account as well. I have gone in through Google Mapmaker when logged in and although on the map the premises is showing the Google + is not there (it is a verified business).

You are saying the business has been verified - we claimed their address - is that correct?
One thing we have no way of knowing i_s this a service area business or not?_ You cannot really set up a places account for a service area business at this time; that would negate the suggestion from AC Pro if it is a service area business. If it is not a service area business, given you would need both Local and G+ set up, AC Pro's suggestion is helpful. So, a few more questions:
When when you search on the business - Joe's Tires and Dresses Houston TX - you do not see the map and info to the Right on the web serps page. (see attached).
Have you gone into mapmaker to edit the location of the business at all? If you do, are you seeing the business on the map? Go to mapmaker.Google.com (be logged in with your G+ or master account). In the search bar at top left put in the business name. Does your G+ info show up?
One issue is not knowing precisely what is occurring for you or being able to see the business, etc. If you can provide just a few more details that would help; if you can't I would be happy to take a look if you can PM it.
Let us know please,
Robert

Good suggestion/experiance AC Pro, Google Local is not the easiest to get your location listed, and advice like this really goes a long way

We just set opened a new location for our business. We had to do the mailer twice: once for google places (<cite>https://www.google.com/business/placesforbusiness/</cite>) and once for the google+ listing of the company (<cite>https://plus.google.com/</cite>). Once we had both physical mailers completed the location started appearing on google maps. I hope this helps!

Link building to Google+ profile: any local SEO value?
Has anyone found value in building links to Google+ profile for local seo rankings? My gut tells me that it will, but I am not 100% sure. If it does, then does that mean that all the traditional SEO factors that would go into ranking a site organically also work for ranking locally for certain keywords? So far, I have found that the best thing for moving up rankings is reviews on Google+, but then does that make local SEO (from a high view point) just a race for high reviews and building the most citation? I am feeling like the differentiator for local SEO is UN-structured citations and links to Google+ profiles. Any thoughts? See you at MozCon!

Rel Author Photo when does it show in SERPS
Hi,
Image & Video Optimization | | Ant71
Ive been using Rel author recently to get my Google+ photo showing up on Google serps. Can someone enlighten me to when people would and wouldnt see it. It appears on peoples results who live near me, however when someone 60 miles away does the same search he does not see the photo just the serps result. It is not a Google+ places entry, just your normal organic result. Any thoughts welcome 🙂0 -

Google local
If you perform a search in Google maps for our company and you are not signed in, it returns our Google + page, with reviews, photos, directions and about tabs, which is fine but, when you click on any of the photos, there is a window that opens to the right where you can edit the location where the photo has been taken, a comment box, photo details and above all, right at the top, MY NAME! Why my name? This is the business page, I don't want people to see that. The snip is below. Thanks! g3OTPRp

Google Review requirements
I'm considering asking some of our clients to leave a Google review on places page. Currently we've focused more on LinkedIn recommendations but this has not impact on local search results. So my questions is what do our clients require to leave a Google review? Do they need a Google + profile? Do they need a Google + business page? Or would a personal gmail account suffice? Appreciate any feedback you have!

Google places: how to deal when competitors spam?
My competitors are spamming in google places, how do I report them? following are a few examples of how they are spamming: Some of them are not local businesses, they somehow managed to get a number and some random address. Some of them have keywords as company names, their exact company name doesn't have any keywords. Some of them have multiple places pages with keywords as company names. how does one deal with it?

What are the best practices for Google Places for a manufacturer?
A manufacturing client has distributors around the world. Can I add these distributors to my client's Google Places account through the bulk upload feature? Is there a better way to ensure that people searching in the company's various territories see a Google Places entry for the appropriate distributor?
