Content Marketing - what to post on their facebook page
-
Hello,
I'm doing content marketing for an article that is helpful in our industry. When I'm building a relationship with a website, on Facebook I first like their page. Then, I'm liking and sharing a couple of recent posts that stand out and are related to our site.
Should I read their recent blog posts and comment on their facebook page thanking them that what I read was helpful while posting a link to their blog post? Or should I post something else on their facebook page? Or should I not post on someone else's facebook page?
Thanks.

It also helps to know the Facebook social audience that you are reaching out two, some appreciate much engagement and feedback others like it in moderation. But generally if you don't participate your doing social wrong.

Hi Bob
If you are trying to build up a social relationship and want to gain some proper interaction with these websites the more you interact the better in my opinion as long as it is a contribution of value and not just commenting for commenting's sake then I would definitely use this tactic.
If you found something helpful and of value then I would definitely shout about it and let the author know you found value in their work.

Google+ Brand Page in Knowledge Graph
We've been unsuccessfully trying to get our brand's Google+ page listed in the Knowledge Graph for our brand. I believe that our markup on our website is correct. Can anyone advise on why we can't get this to pull up in the knowledge graph? Wow, I can get a lot of Facebook likes quickly!
I did some testing with Facebook ads and resulting Facebook likes on target pages. And something is wrong! Just after creating the ad, before the ad was approved, I could get many likes on the target page without even seeing any traffic on server logs or google analytics. I documented my tests here. I repeated the tests 6 times, every time I could get tens of likes on the target page within seconds and without any approval of the ad. These pages have little traffic and there's no way these likes could have been natural! Everyone I reported was able to reproduce it, try yourself. A little update. I found others reporting un-expected Likes pouring... But at least they were "running" the ad, so externals to Facebook could have seen it and decided to Like it to later offer "liking" service as reported from this fellow. But in my case the ad was not approved... So... Who can see it beside me and Facebook?

Add Tracking Parameters to Website Links on Facebook/Twitter
does anyone know of a way to add tracking parameters to facebook/twitter website links in the about us section so that we can understand what traffic is specifically coming from that page? I already add tracking to posts, but I am more trying to track each standard link on these social channels. I am currently running into character limits or the result looks like a long url that will most certainly deter clicks because it looks suspicious.

Crawlable Facebook Comments
A lot of blogs are beginning to use facebook comments. I came across a WordPress plugin called "Crawlable Facebook Comments". The plugin makes a text version of your iframe comments visible to googlebot. You can see how it works at: http://www.zewlak.com/crawlable-facebook-comments/ Is there really any utility to this seo-wise? Comment content is normally not optimized and you will end up linking to a bunch of facebook profiles. What do you folks think?

Best strategy for optimizing Facebook annotations in Bing & Yahoo
My website has a page on Facebook with around 32K connections, these are not showing up in Bing's serp annotations because Bing is not associating my page with the website. Unsure why because I have closed loop links and used their Page Like Box to generate those 32K connections. I have Facebook insights and Bing webmaster tools authorized for the domain Does anyone know how I can ensure Bing makes that connection? If that's not possible, would it be more advantageous to drive likes to my sitewide domain or specific pages? My testing on Bing suggests the domain level like is most likely to trigger annotations, even for deeper pages with no specific likes. http://ministry-to-children.com/ http://www.facebook.com/MinistryToChildren

Duplicate Content
I have a question regarding non-original content on multiple sites. I'm working for a client that's company has a personalized social network for it's fans (completely custom, built from the ground up - not like kickapps, or the other social network dev platforms). Anyway the network is fairly active - at least a couple thousand users - and each one of these sites is given a subdomain. Each of these subdomains can be given a custom URL if purchased - but essentially it's much like creating a blogger or wordpress. Each URL is basically "http://FanUsername.BrandName.c0m/" Now the dev had the genius idea of publishing all "corporate/company" blog posts on everyone of these subdomains as well. When first learning of this, I told them it was a terrible idea - and that it may even penalize the main blog. After more research - it looks like this may not be the case? I still think they should just link back to the main blog and discontinue publishing these posts on all of these additional subdomains (and for those that purchased domain names - unique websites). What do you guys think? Should they only include an RSS feed of links back to the main blog? Should they just link directly back to the blog? Or should they offer shortened versions of each blog post - ala links + meta description + Read More...? Or lastly, should they just keep as is? Thanks for the help
