Should i 301 redirect my blog to the respective site or just 404 all the blog pages?

Hi guys,
We plan to close down our blog, which is a subdomain to our anchor site. I need advice on how to keep the link juice and its SEO value.
Is it better to 301 redirect the blog to the homepage of our site, or just 404 all the pages of the blog? Thanks

It's better to use 301 redirects to maintain the SEO value if possible. Redirect the blog post urls to a corresponding content page on your website if such content exists. It's better for the customer experience too. If the blog posts are about topics or events that our outdated, a custom error 404 page is a better option so that the visitor won't waste time looking for something that doesn't exist anywhere on your site, even in another format. Listing your sitemap or a search feature can be helpful.

If you want to keep the link juice, you should definitely 301 all the URLs to relevant pages on your site.
However, I wouldn't redirect all of these to the homepage. Apparently internal 301s to the homepage are treated as 404s by Google

At the end of the search, google shows this: In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 109 already displayed.

Best strategy for content/articles. Individual pages or blog posts?
Hi all, Whilst adding content to one of my sites quite often I'm left deciding whether I should create an individual webpage for the content, or write it up as another blog post. More often I write it up as a static page so it fits in with the rest of my website more 'directly'. However I'm wondering if I'm missing out here as obviously I'm not taking advantage of the benefits of a blog, RSS, Tag Cloud, etc etc... Just wondering if others encounter the same quandary?

Word Press site traffic plumit
Hi, I have a client who has a word press site that we put together for him. We have noticed that over approximately the last 2 months his sites traffic has plumitied - its gone from a health 200+ per day and sharply decresaed and is not practically zero. New blog not TopDomainName, do I wast my time?
My eCommerce site is: http://www.furnacefilterscanada.com to provide informations a create links for SEO, i launch http://www.furnacefilterscanada.info/ over WordPress. After ready the new SEOmoz book, I realize .info is not a TopDomainName and it might be see has spam. What do you thing? Duplicate Content on WordPress Blogs?
We are getting ready to add a WordPress blog to our established website. Our plans are to place it in a subfolder on our website to maximize rank. My question is...Do we need to utilize a Meta Robots WordPress plugin by Yoast or similar so that noindex,follow robots meta tags will prevent search engine indexing of search result pages, subpages and category archives?
