CDN image links passing SEO benefit?
-
We used a CDN to host all of the images on our site, and the paths are such:
http://cdn.onedirection.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/harry-styles-tongue5.jpgFrequently we get a lot of other websites using our images, which we're fine with, but I would like to know if we get any SEO value from these image links? Interestingly they do appear in the "Just Discovered" section of OSE.
Cheers,
Chris.

Hey Chris,
If your domain is onedirection.net and people are linking to your images on cdn.onedirection.net you are seeing some benefit, just not as much as if they were on onedirection.net root domain. If that's the case that's why they are coming up in your Just Discovered links.
If however cdn.onedirection.net is your CDN completely irrespective of your domain and your site is on another domain like justinbieber.com then nope you won't get any link equity from that.

no, I wold have thought they were outgoing links

Thanks for your reply Alan.
Do you have any idea why Moz would list them as incoming links in OSE?
-
I cant see any SEO benefit, if the images were on your own domain, then there might be.
this is my opinion, I believe there is a pagerank for images, at least that google keeps some sort of record of whos linking to what image. not only are these people not linking to your domain rather to the CDN domain, you are linking to the CDN domain also. I would rather host the images myself and not be linking out and have others linking to me.
I host at Microsoft Azure, if you host in the cloud there is no advantage to having a cdn as you already have good bandwidth.

Local SEO: Ste vs. Suite vs. #
Hi, I used the spelled out "Suite" in my local NAP, but sometimes it's been shortened to Ste by citation websites. I'm trying to remain consistent here Should I use Ste H, Suite H, or #H? This is a good article on it: http://localsearchforum.catalystemarketing.com/google-local-citations/1605-suite-vs-ste-vs-your-citation-addresses-2.html but I'd still like your opinion.

Local SEO NAP issue
Hello, All of my citations addresses have the street address 913 S. Latah Street except there are other businesses in this building with the same address. Should I have included "Room H"? Also, is "S." different than "South"? Is "St." different than Street? Looking for correct consistent citations.

Does adding the city to your business name in a Places page help or harm Local SEO?
Hi, All! Another local SEO question... For one of our clients, the title on their Place page is <official business="" name=""><city>. Example: John's Sporting Goods Detroit. Now, most citations will say "John's Sporting Goods." Is having "Detroit" as part of the business name in Places problematic (NAP inconsistency) and we should remove it, or is it helpful for ranking for "sporting goods detroit" or is it neither?</city></official> Thanks! Aviva

How much link juice do SVG images pass?
I have been experimenting with SVG images for SEO in the last 7 months. I can definitely get pages indexed using embedded links within SVG images but have not had much success measuring link juice. Have you tried anything along similar lines? How much link juice does an SVG image pass?
