What happens when i import analytics conversions into adwords if I already have conversions set up?
-
Hey everyone, I have a question.
We already have conversion tracking set up for our landing pages, however Adwords has the option to import goals from anaytics, one of which is for the landing pages. What will happen if I do? Will it erase all the conversion data I already have? Will it mess things up? Or am I not understanding this correctly... Any help would be appreciated

I know this thread has been answered but do you have a preference on this.
What are the pros and cons of importing Analytic goals into Adwords? I prefer to keep it all separate as adwords conversions will show up in Analytics. Any thoughts on this?

Hi Stephanie,
It will mess things up - at least in my experience.
They did not delete the already existing conversions. They were added to that number. In the standard campaign interface you will get the total sum (adwords + analytics). In the Conversion setup window you will see the actual numbers from both sources. Maybe you could see the actual numbers in the campaign window also if you segment the view by conversion type.
I think this causes big problems for accounts running CPA bidding (and maybe eCPC - not sure about this). These bidding types are very sensitive to changes for the number of conversions. If you had 50 USD/lead CPA set up as target and you suddenly double the conversion numbers you might pay up to 2x times the CPC you already pay.
However, if you are not running on CPA bidding I think that this won't be a major problem. It might be complicated to see which keyword had which conversion - but you can get around this in a way or another. But it won't change your CPC, traffic volume and so on...
For now, there is no way to remove imported or existing conversions - at least from what I know. I did some research about it a while ago. However, there is interesting new feature - > Track Offline Conversions - https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2998031?hl=en which maybe, if set right, might delete conversions (not sure yet, did not test it)
So, this is just from my experience with a similar problem. Hope it helps!

Date of Review on productpage - important for SEO?
Hi Have a questions. We have lots of products on the website. A lot have reviews and some do not.
Conversion Rate Optimization | | RetailClicks
Is it harming that review dates (post dates) are older then let's say 1-2 months? Cause we do not have fresh reviews every month. So is it better to then let the dates behind and not show? Or is it better to show 'old' dates. How important are fresh review dates on the website? We have hreview tags around the reviews and dates.0 -
Any Reports on Conversion Rate Drops in 2014?
I'm looking for some reports about conversion rate changes over the past year as well as any trends you may have noticed about ecommerce conversion rates because we are seeing something quite odd. We are seeing a large drop in overall conversion rates on some sites I manage this year despite seeing significant revenue growth. When I looked through the stats I found something interesting. Our conversion rates have actually increased on each of the three device types (desktop, tablet and mobile) but because there is a huge surge in visits from mobile devices (the device with the lowest conversion rates) and a large decline in vistis from our top convertor (desktop) our overall conversion rates are down. This is especially troubling to me because my bonus was based on increasing conversion rates and I could use some help from you to see if others in the industry are facing this issue or not. Thanks

What Is Your Most Important Daily Activity?
I was reading "The Score Takes Care Of Itself" by legendary 49ers coach Bill Walsh this weekend. One of the things he did to differentiate his team was to identify all the skills needed at each position, and then identify the activities his team could practice in order to improve those skills. I'm curious about what activities you perform each day that you value the most. I'd like to open up a discussion around the following: What's your most important responsibility? What skill do you value the most to execute your responsibility well? And what activity do you do in order to improve this skill? I'll go first. Driving conversions is my most important responsibility as an internet marketer. Email marketing is the skill I value the most in driving conversions. C__opywriting is the activity that improves my ability to drive conversions through email. I've found_using social media as a testing ground_ for subject lines helps me improve my copywriting skills. I'll come up with a few different email subject lines, share these lines and trackable links on social media channels, and see what link generates the most clicks. I'll then take the subject lines with the highest click through rates and send out an A/B tested campaign using Mailchimp. This activity helps me improve as a copywriter, which makes me better at my main responsibility: driving conversions. Thanks in advance for contributing to this discussion. Hopefully your answer will inspire others to take on a new activity that helps them improve at their most important responsibility.

Conversion Rate boost - Website Feedback
We are a relatively young company with an Okay conversion rate of around 2% across several different sales channels. I am mentioning this because our website with the same type of products has a very low conversion rate of under 1%. I know this is a deep topic, involving different analytic metrics, but would like to ask MOZ community members if there's anything obvious that needs improvement on this website www.cherrywalls.com that would help to increase conversions. I will be happy to answer any additional questions or to clarify things! Thank you for your time! Any suggestions and/or critique are greatly appreciated!

Analytics (Other Than Google) & A/B Testing Tools
Hey, I have Google Analytics on my website, like most people, but I was looking at some other analytics and testing tools like heat maps, click maps, A/B, etc. I was hoping that some of you could recommend a few that you use to see where pages are going wrong, track user behaviour and to how improve conversion rate. I have had a look at a few websites like: https://www.clicktale.com/

Conversion and CTR best books and tips?
So there are two things a site owner needs, 1. To rank on page one and 2. To have a high conversion and clock through rate. I'm still learning both but need more help on the second. Any tips? What are the best books to study on CTR and Conversions?

Reviewing my Adwords Strategy
Before I started working on Organic SEO, I did Adwords. Being that I am entirely self-taught with adwords, I am concerned that about what I might not know. From time to time I have looked for outside advice, but I never got very far. It seemed that I would be talking to a salesman, someone who knew less than me, or someone who was horrified that I had 7,500 tracked words. So I am presenting my methods here for comment. Each keyword I have used is placed into an exact match campaign, phrase match campaign, and broad match campaign. Exact match gets the highest bid, broad match the lowest. Every week, I cull new keywords from phrase and broad results. I also create negative keywords each week based on searches that are obviously not looking for my products. Over time, I get very few searches triggered from broad matches. Keywords are kept in ad groups that generally have less than 6 keywords. Acceptable conversion costs are decided based on product category. I have made an assumption that first position adwords results are too expensive (idiots overpay for them). I automatically reduce my bid 10% on any ad that has an average position of greater than 1.5. I automatically reduce my bid 10% on any ad that has a conversion cost greater than my target. I delete keyword that have a CTR below 1%. I generally require 300 clicks to make a determination. All ads have been endlessly split tested to the point I don’t split test them much now. I judged ads for both click through rate and conversion rate. End result: After 4 years of doing this, conversion costs are below target costs. Not sure what else I could do to improve it, but looking for ideas. Management of the system is pretty easy now, as well. Anything I am missing?
