Same titles in Webmasters' tools

In webmasters' tools I get a message saying I have 505 pages html improvements that are possible because 505 of my titles are used on two pages. Actually, webmasters' tools is tripping since the doubles they find are:

Anyways, I have indexation problems and I was wondering if this could be the case and how to solve that.

Hi,
I would just ignore that. No real harm can come out of this.
However, if you do have some time on your hands and there is no other better use of it I would look at the logs and see if Google Bot is hiting both version. If that is the case then you need to deal with those as you are wasting crawl budget that can be used in a more productive way (but that's only if you have a big site and crawling can actually improve your performance).

To me it sounds like the root of the issue is a canonical url problem. It is hard to tell exactly without knowing more though.

Pages I don't want
Hello Friends, A few days ago, I set up my wordpress site and everything is great so far, there's just one small problem. Wenn I search for site:mysite.com I see a lot of pages in the index I don't want to have on my site. It looks like demo pages from the theme I bought. Examples: http://mysite.com/themefusion_es_groups/group1/ http://mysite.com/slide/youtube/ http://mysite.com/lorem-ipsum-2/ http://mysite.com/slide/demo-5 What would be the best way to handle it? Simply delete the pages, then a soft 404 shows. Delete the pages and 301 them to the start page. Are they disapearing from the infex then? I am very grateful for tips regarding this! Duplicate Page Titles and Duplicate Content
I've been a Pro Member for nearly a year and I am bound and determined to finally clean up all the crawl errors on our site PracticeRange.com. We have 180 errors for Duplicate Page Titles and Duplicate Content. I fixed many of the pages that were product pages with duplicate content. Those product descriptions were edited and now have unique content. However, there remain plenty of the errors that are puzzling. Many of the errors reference the same pages, for example, the Home Page, Login Page and the Search page (our catalog pages).

One of them is no more important than the other. So how would I incorporate the rel=canonical? In the case of the Home Page errors, I'm really confused. I don't know where to start to fix these. They are the result of a 404 error that leads to the home page. Is the content of the 404 page the culprit since it contains a link to the home page? More long tails for longer title
Hello, Will a longer, two big phrase title gather more long tails overall than a title with one short keyword? Example: Would this: Title: Nike Running Shoes, Adidas Tennis Shoes create more long tails overall than this title: Title: Running Shoes or is more dependent on other things, like content? It seems like you'd be more likely to hit more phrases strongly with a long title. If that's true doesn't it make sense to always use a longer title when possible? Thanks.

SERP listing of a websites' 'categories'
Hi all, just wondering if anyone has thoughts on what I can do to encourage SERP listings that include website categories, eg http://www.google.com.au/search?q=seomoz&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a . I'm assuming search engines only display type of listings when the search query closely matches the domain name? Thank heaps!

Why isn't Google indexing me?
Recently got handed off a .org site for a quasi state agency here in Michigan. Turns out the developer had the site live for the past six months but left the noindex, nofollow tag on everything so the site was invisible to search engines. Obviously we wiped all of those things a couple weeks ago when we got started, added all of our sitemaps to bing/yahoo/google webmaster tools and we've already started getting indexed by yahoo and bing and showing up for branded terms...but NOTHING from Google. WMT says our pages are all indexed, but we aren't showing up for anything in search and we don't seem to be indexed at all. Granted, if this site was brand new and didn't have any links I could see us taking a little time to get found, but this site has very good .gov and .edu links, plus we've built some other solid links to it since we've launched and Google continues to ignore it. I haven't seen this before, but could Google still be ignoring us from the months of noindex, nofollowing? If so, any tips on how to get back in teh Google's good graces here?
