Company name in TITLE tag first have an impact on user behavior?
-
Does anyone know if there any sort of study or have an opinion on the following:
Does the company name appearing the browser tab have any affect on how a user interacts with a site from a branding perspective or a TITLE tag / meta description in SERP "paying off" perspective?
That is, optimizing titles COMPANY NAME | KEYWORD instead of vice versa so that when the title shows in the browser tab, the company name is displayed but not much else.

Good point about multiple browser tags. Thanks!

I agree with the comment on when multiple browser tabs are open.
Also we have found that by inserting the company title in all pages you lose 10-15 characters of your 60 within the title tag.
By starting with the company name, the keywod relevance in your title might become less as it does not appear first and we have found this to be important

I have implemented sites with the brand name first, the brand name at the end of the page title and without the page title. I don't have any study results but my impressions are the following:
- When multiple tabs are open having the brand name first is a nuisance because you can't see the page title you just see the repeating brand name.
- If it is the home page the brand name should probably be first but there are some exceptions.
- Having the brand name at the end in the title might have some SEO benefit but can also make for very looooong page titles.
My general pattern today would be to use the brand name on the home page and all subsequent pages just use the characters for good page titles.

If you have a big brand name that impresses the pants off of everyone then using it in the title tag might have a benefit... but if you are a NoName or a MaybeWeKnowYou I think that it is of limited value. I would rather use the title tag to flaunt a value proposition or a phrase that elicits clicks.
Good discussion on this topic here.

Should our rebranded company update our existing Instagram profile or delete it and start from scratch?
Our company just did a complete rebrand with a new name and logo. Instagram allows us to change our name, username, logo, and information, unlike Facebook, but there isn't a lot of online content about whether or not that's the best route. Any thoughts?

When Company names confuse search
I am currently perplexed over a client's search results. They are an established company and well known in their field. (Unfortunately, I am not comfortable providing a link or their name.) The company is a consulting firm and let's assume it is an accounting firm, which it is not. When you search on BSC Accounting the results give them the first result but the next 18 results are around education - BSc Accounting. Consider the DA on the site is 34 and the PA for homepage is 39. Is there a chance that when someone is searching on accounting firms that having the BSC in the name skews what they are able to rank for? Forget about searches for their exact name, I am more interested in thoughts as to how the BSC effects general searches for their specialties.

What EMD Meta Title should we use?
Situation: Recently I encountered a Meta Title issue for my company websites.
Branding | | TT_Vakantiehuizen
This Dutch company has four websites on one server. Three closely related EMD(Exact Match Domain) websites and one overarching website. (Holiday homes rental websites) Vakantiehuizen-Verhuur.nl (overarching)
Vakantiehuizen-Frankrijk.nl (EMD in EN: holidayrentals-France.nl)
Vakantiehuizen-Italie.nl (EMD in EN: Holidayrentals-Italy.nl)
Vakantiehuizen-Spanje.nl (EMD in EN: Holidayrentals-Spain.nl) Question:
What would be a preferable Meta Title for the EMD websites (homepage/subpages)? Keep in mind that the domains are EMD. The homepage will target the most important keywords and should not compete with subpages. Options for the homepage (translated from Dutch to English):
1. Holiday Rentals France | All holiday home rentals in France in a row!
2. Holiday Rentals France | Holidayrentals-France.nl powered by Holiday-Rentals.nl
3. Suggestions? Options for the subpages:
1. Holiday Rentals Normandy | Holidayrentals France
2. Holiday Rentals Normandy | Holidayrentals-France.nl
3. Suggestions? And concerning the keywords in the beginning; is it wise to use both plural and singular terms in the meta title? For Example:
Hotel New York. Best hotels in New York | Company Name0 -
Branded Domain Names - Keep or Sell?
Hey guys! My company is sitting on a number of branded domains to ensure we have control over the URL in case we ever want to do anything with them and/or to protect brand integrity. However, we are sitting on a total of 24 domains, which seems somewhat excessive. What are you thoughts about .info and .net domains? Or keeping branded domains in general? Is there a good rule of thumb to follow? We have a few up for renewal soon, so it'd be terrific to get your thoughts! Thanks much, Clarissa

Register a Domain: Brand Name VS Product Name
Hi All, Since Google give more priority to brand names and most of the penalized websites by Google's Penguin update are websites which had links with promoted keywords, is it a good idea to register a new domain by the product name (ex: www.leatherbags.com) ?. Or is it good to register the domain by the company or brand name and then build a reputable brand first before targeting product based keywords (ex: leather bags) ?.

Strategies for getting more listings on first of google
We have a client who is looking to increase the number of results on page 1 of google for their brand name to essentially force some historical negative comments off page 1 of google. I am thinking of things like a twitter page, Facebook page, YouTube page etc. plus optimising their site to try and get multiple pages on page 1. Does any one have experience of doing the same sort of thing?
