To redirect or not to redirect...That is the question

We have old product data that is being updated (approx 30k sku's). Most of the old pages have been indexed and drive the majority of our online sales. But, the updated products have different titles, H1's, etc and have been re-formatted for the better in terms of usability.
So, should we redirect thousands of pages to the new pages? Will Google be ok with that?...or should we reformat the current url's with the new data? And, if we reformat current url's with new data...the fear is that the on-page elements that the pages are being pick up for will get wiped out, (be it the H1 in some cases or the title or alt tag for another, etc) because it's simply too much to retain them during the import.

This sounds a little risky.
I would avoid doing redirects if possible.
If this was my site, I would get into my analytics and find out which 100 pages are pulling in most of the sales from people who enter from search. I would then spend whatever time it takes to recode about five pages by hand, using the best SEO practices within my ability.
I want to make them into something kickass.
After I did the first five of those pages, I would get in touch with a consultant, show her those pages (before and after shots), tell her the goal and have her give opinion on what might be done better. When I do something big like this I always get second opinion from someone who does more SEO than me and who is smarter about it than I am. I might ask a question on Moz or get a friend to look at something. I always get advice from people I trust when doing this. I don't worry about cost. One taken opportunity can be worth literally a million dollars in the long term. One screw up can cost many thousands of dollars immediately and millions over time.
So, after these consults I would launch a few dozen hand-crafted pages and see what happens. A couple weeks later I would launch more if the results were good.
The higher the value of these pages the more that I would do by hand. Once I thought that I had things under control then I would write or have written a program to do the rest of the job automatically.
I am never in a hurry on a high value job like this.

My vote is redirect them to the new sku data; you will probably drop in the rankings for a while, but I would imagine in a few months you will come back.
The biggest reason to redirect is just business related - ultimately you want your customers to have a good experience and part of that is making sure they are getting what they need. Once they get to your site, you have to wow them and do a good job fulfilling the order. Just getting them to the site is just the start of the whole process.

Update old article or publish new content and redirect old post?
Hi all, I'm targetting a keyword and we used to rank quite good for it. Last couple of months traffic of that keyword (and variations) is going down a bit. I wrote an extensive new post on the same topic, much more in dept and from 600 to 1800 words covering the same topic. Is it better to update the old article and mention that it's updated recently, or publish a new post and redirect the old post to the new post?

URL Question
This url looks bad: http://www.patrickmunoz.com/#!classes/c1vw1 And when you click around the page change doesn't actually occur, it's a fade into the next page. I think this is a major problem for rankings. What is the best way to execute a geo redirect?
Based on what I've read, it seems like everyone agrees an IP-based, server side redirect is fine for SEO if you have content that is "geo" in nature. What I don't understand is how to actually do this. It seems like after a bit of research there are 3 options: You can do a 301 which it seems like most sites do, but that basically means if google crawls you in different US areas (which it may or may not) it essentially thinks you have multiple homepages. Does google only crawl from SF-based IPs? 302 passes no juice, so probably don't want to do that. Yelp does a 303 redirect, which it seems like nobody else does, but Yelp is obviously very SEO-savvy. Is this perhaps a better way that solves for the above issues? Thoughts on what is best approach here?

301 vs 302 redirect
Hello Mozers, I have a website which offers subscriptions on a monthly basis, when one profile expires the link of the profile gets a 301 redirect to the main category, just that if the member chooses to come back after a while he can reactivate the profile and the link will work again and the 301 will disappear, Should I be doing 302 redirect, as from this point of view it's only a temporarily redirect ? Couple of noob questions
Hi, couple of easy questions for you guys... Im a web designer and my #1 keyword is web design huddersfield. I own the domain huddersfield.com, and i will have a page titled web design. Now do i target the web design page or the index page as i don't want keyword cannibalization, but is it better for my index page to be the landing page? #2 Considering that huddersfield.com is my domain should i set the title to: web design huddersfield or just web design? please help.

301 redirects, efficiency and dynamic URLs
Hi, I have 2 301 redirect questions. Question 1: I have am working with a designer on the redesign of a website that currently has over 5,000 indexed pages. The majority of these are dynamic URLs from the Stone Locator database. (see below) http://www.domain.com/storelocator.php?zipcode=91784&page=12 How can I efficiently deal with these pages from an SEO perspective when developing the new site? Is there a way to do a bulk 301 redirect to a store locator page, for instance? Question 2: If a rel=canonical tag has been established on a page (www....), is it necessary to add 301 redirects to all of the other versions on: the home page (domain.com , domain.com/index.html, domain.com/index.html, etc.) all other pages with those same extensions ? New website launch - Dupilicate content question
Hi, We are going to be launching a US version of our UK E-commerce web store. The US version will be a standalone site, separate URL/hosting etc. My question is that the US website will carry the same products as the UK site - will the product copy have to be written differently for the US website in order to avoid any SEO duplicate copy?
