Should I increase SEO activity while we are restructuring our B2C service offerings and planning a product relaunch in about 6-8 months?
-
My company has 2 distinct divisions: a B2B division and a B2C division. Right now we are restructuring our B2C service offerings and pulling back on marketing spend for B2C so that we can relaunch new B2C offerings in about 6-8 months. Our current company website will stay in place but will be revamped right before our B2C relaunch (will maintain the same domain).
Currently, our company has little to no SEO presence for both B2C and B2B. I need to know if it is smart for us to increase SEO activity right now for the B2C division, knowing that it can take up to 6 months to get SEO traction so that when we do relaunch we have a strong established SEO presence.
Thanks for your sharing your thoughts!

All links in Q&A are nofollowed, but we still ask that you not use unnecessary/unrelated links in your answers. Thanks!

You definetly should keep doing it. I work for a women's swimwear company, SwimsuitsDirect.com. The majority of our business is done during the summer. But during the off season we go fully into SEO mode. It's a good idea to keep up with your SEO because it will make it that much easier when the rest of your services are up to date.

It's never too early to start. It also doesn't need to take 6 months to start to see benefits from SEO. If you go ahead and create a comprehensive content strategy, start building social connections and letting Google see you, then 6 months down the line, you will be in a much stronger position.
As they say, no time like the present

Unique content for international SEO?
Hi Guys, We have a e-commerce store on generic top-level domain which has 1000s of products in US. We are looking to expand to aus, uk and canda using subfolders. We are going to implement hreflang tags. I was told by our SEO agency we need to make all the content between each page unique. This should be fine for cateogry/product listing pages. But they said we need to make content unique on product pages. If we have 1000 products, thats 4000 pages, which is a big job in terms of creating content. Is this necessary? What is the correct way to approach this, won't the hreflang tag be sufficent to prevent any duplicate content issues with product pages? Cheers.

Is Google sandboxing > 6 months possible or should we move on?
The below chart shows what we believed on of our domains being caught in the Google sandbox for the last 6 months; the sites has built site has built significant, relevant, high quality backlinks and content and is outperforming the majority of sites ranked in the top 10. The site was a reset project of a site caught in Panda however we tried to not use any 301 redirects or linkages between the site. After 6 months without organic traffic I am leaning on the community for advice if this could still be legitimate Google sandboxing or if we should try to repoint our external links to a new domain and see if the site can gain rankings quicker? From past project the Google sandbox issue has been resolved within 2 months. Any advice welcome. matIgqE

We're planning a major website redevelopment - SEO Considerations?
We're currently planning a website rehaul, with a new site to be designed and implemented on our existing Drupal 7 platform. I've outlined the following areas to consider: Listing out top content by traffic, conversions, ranking and bounce rates to ensure top content continues to get relevant links throughout site (in particular high internal PA links!). Maintaining a specific KW target for each page Ensuring on-page SEO guidelines remain (i.e. img alt tags, headings and page titles) Having a low page load speed Ensuring architecture of site is built around our keyword methodology What else I need to be aware of? I'm predicting a drop in traffic as this tends to follow redesigns but looking to make this as minimal as possible. Sam

Product instant answers?
Hi Guys, I noticed today that Google was serving a VERY different organic result for a product level search. The query was "giro aspect". Included is a screenshot of the SERP. Anyone know about these? Is there anything we need to do to get this (i.e certain schema.org markup)? Any insights appreciated,

Newbie to SEO and SEOMOZ help
Hey everyone i just came across SEOMOZ today, i have been building websites for 3 years now but SEO is something which has always been a scary topic to consider trying to master. I have made a decision to do this in 2012 and i have been looking for a software package which can stear me and teach me. I have been reading the site help today and i feel totally swamped! i have created my campaign but a lot of the results dont make much sense to me and i am unsure of how to fix the errors they found. For instance the crawl diagnostics shows i have 5 4xx client errors. They show me a link to the page where the error is http://www.mydomain.com/category/latest-news/function.require but when i go to see what this is i just find an error 404 not found page. How do i go about removing this error if i have no idea where the problem is? I have started reading SEO User guide and beginers guide and i know it is going to take me a long time to get use to this all, but i am struggling to find the starting point and hope someone can possible help me find the first few steps. Thanks

SEO Landing Page Fail
We have a PPC landing page template that I've used to aggregate blog post collections thematically. http://www.ietravel.com/machu-picchu-travel http://www.ietravel.com/kenya-and-tanzania-safari The hope was that they would start ranking. After 5 months, it has yet to happen.Thought it was a good idea at the time because these pages have a nice prominent call-to-action area. It now occurs to me that the pages are probably under-performing because they are not incorporated into the main site navigation. Do you think that if I move these under their appropriate categories in the main site I'll see some lift? (Of course, I will add 301 redirects as well.) Thanks

Hiring an SEO company
I usually do SEO myself but now its time to move on to getting on with running the business. I have found a fantastic PPC company who ONLY focus on PPC and am looking for same but for SEO. Must be based in UK and have a great portfolio of mid/large tier companies with some real life stats to back them up. Pricing must be clear and transaparent. Results must be measurable. How would you find such a company? Ironically searching on Google doesn't seem to produce the right results 😞 Alastair
