Whats the Best Tool for Bulk SERPS Checking?
-
To get round the 'not provided' issue I've just generated a list of the 5000+ keywords that people have used to visit my site over the last 7+ years.
I want to do a one off SERPS check for all these keywords and export into excel where I'll tie it up with lots of analytics and moz based data
I was going to use the queries report on analytics but my data only goes back as far as May this year, so I'll use that if I have to (and probably will anyway for the impressions and CTR) but I'd prefer to cover everything so I can see any opportunities in my very long tail
-
Thanks for that.
Really i I just want to do it once to cover off any unlimited opportunities. Basically I'll do a quick heat map matching SERPS to monthly search volumes and use that to come up with a list of keywords to focus on.
What's clear from the work that I have done already is that there is a big misalignment, in my particular sector, between where people spend their ad dollars and what keywords drive visits. It's based too much on 'experience' of managers and not enough on data.
because the industry changes slowly, the last major innovation was in the early 90's the historical data is good enough for my purposes as is a SERPS snapshot on an annual basis. It's my workaround to the not provided problem.

Hi there,
There a few checkers so its really preference i like www.serpbook.com
there is also http://www.serplab.co.uk/
and hundreds more, not forgetting the fact Moz tracks some too. Importing 5000+ keywords is a bit of a time waste & money burner though have you also tried looking into some of the moz blogs for not provided -
http://moz.com/blog/100-percent-keyword-not-provided-whiteboard-tuesday
http://moz.com/blog/easing-the-pain-of-google-keyword-not-provided
http://moz.com/blog/what-is-seo-now
http://moz.com/blog/proving-seo-value-in-google-analytics
http://moz.com/ugc/how-to-analyze-google-analytics-not-provided-data
http://moz.com/ugc/overwriting-not-provided-keywords-with-inferred-keywords-in-google-analytics
as you can see there are loads of topic on the matter which might help future proof your self as more sites are going secure your only going to be fighting an uphill battle to try and track that metric.
Good luck.

Google Keyword Tool Alternatives
Hey All, So ever since Google shut down the Keyword Tool we have used the keyword planner and a few other tools only to find they aren't quite the same, I was wondering what everyone is using now to get there keyword research and average traffic estimates ? We previous used keyword tool for phrase match and now not much offers phrase match or provides us with what seems as accurate results. We have tried Word Tracker after a numerous amount of research to find a alternative to the keyword tool, and found that the results are very different from the Google Keyword Planner, 1 noticeable result would be of "Web Design Melbourne", in Word Tracker it showed the average search of 9,900 (per month or year I'm not sure) and we compared that to the Google Keyword Planner and it showed 3,000. I have looked over a number of tools and found they weren't quite what we are looking for (Word Tracker, SEMRush, Google Keyword Planner) so I have turned to the MOZ Community. So my first question for everyone would be: A) what do you use for Keyword research and average search estimates now (any good tools with phrase match)? B) If you have used Word Tracker have you found accurate results in your keyword research? If you have found any tools that have proved beneficial and useful please let me know 🙂 (paid or free) Thank you

Finding competitors best keywords?
How do I learn my competitor's best keywords? I realize I can add more keywords to my campaign but the problem is - I am not sure I am thinking of the right keywords. I don't want to compare with the keywords I am targeting - I want to know what THEY are targeting.

Your Favorite Tools for Competitive Analysis?
When you review your competitors online presence, what are some of your favorite tools? I like Open Site Explorer's domain comparison tool. SEMRush is great too but the data is often inaccurate.

Free SEO tools appearing in SERPS for a site
Hi there, I've just taken over a site and it doesn't have a huge amount of shelfspace on the SERPs for it's brand name. Looking at the results that are there are a lot of free SEO tools that are coming up. They haven't had an SEO before so it's not coming from their side. There's such a lot of them I was wondering if anyone had come across this before - is it simply a competitor looking at the seo, could it be one of the seo analytics packages using free sites or is there anything else to be aware of. I can start knocking the sites down the SERPs but just wondering if anyone has a good solution for this. thanks Shiv

Is it possible to bulk Check CMS
Hi Mozzers, Any of you know a way to bulk check which CMS a list of sites run on? Let's say I'd like to develop a plugin for a CMS (e.g. Wordpress or vBulletin). But that'd only make sense if some of the sites in the niche use this platform. And I'd like to avoid checking them manually with WASP. Thanks! Thomas

What tools do you use for competitive link analysis?
I have been using SEO Spyglass lately but it can be very slow at times. Wondering if there are any other accurate/robust tools out there.
