Not in Top 50 - But actually in 3rd position
-
I created a new campaign with Moz on 7th Sep 2014. To date (17th) the Keyword reports says that all the keywords are not in Top 50. But in many of the keywords our site is in first page.
If Moz has not crawled the site yet?
PS: I have another campaign running with same set of (but few) keywords which shows perfectly for months.
Any advise?

Hi Benny!
I am not sure what happened to your email from the 18th but I did see the one submitted yesterday. I'm afraid Erin's earlier response on the 18th identified the issue with your campaigns.
We are not finding keywords in the top 50 for your September campaign due to the URL set to only track the root domain because your site is ranking as the "www" version on the SERPs. This is indicated below the campaign settings where it says "tracking only this subdomain" which is set by checking the box to "exclude subdomains" from the setup process. This means if you are ranking as www.domain.com, we are actually looking for domain.com
If you setup a root domain URL without checking the box to exclude subdomains, this will act as a catch-all to pull rankings for all versions of the site, www or non-www. This is why the May campaign is showing ranking keywords because we are "tracking all sites at this domain".
Hope this helps!

I wrote twice, No response from your help! Its frustrating now!
-
No. I've written from the Email, that is registered with the ID to help@moz.com on Thu 18/Sep/2014 8:16 AM. I have sent with screen shots of a Campaign created in May 2014 and Sep first week with some additional keywords.
If this is the case, Its really frustrating and helpless. If you are unable to crawl and generate reports, what is the point of using a premium SEO tool like moz, especially when you say you are slow in customer support too?
I also noticed your system is not generating a ticket ID assigned to issues raised. If you had done, I could refer it.

Hi Benny!
I just searched our Help Desk software, and I wasn't able to find any emails from the address you use to login to Moz. It's totally possible that you wrote in from another email address, so no worries there.
Thank you for understanding that we've been a little swamped. We have limited coverage on the weekends, but we do answer emails on a first come first serve basis. I promise that we'll get back to you as soon as we can!
Happy Friday!

Hi there! Thanks for reaching out! My name is Erin, and I'm on the Help Team here at Moz. I appologize that it's taken us so long to get back to you, things have been a little hectic around here!
While I'd need to see exactly which keywords you're ranking for (contacting us as Bryan suggested would be the best avenue for this :)), I can still throw out a few guesses as to what's going on.
For starters, make sure you're checking your rankings from an incognito or private browsing window. When we check for rankings we don't take any kind of local rankings into account, all of our results are as unbiased as possible. This could explain why you're seeing this discrepancy.
Also, double check to make sure you're tracking the correct domain. For example, if you're tracking your root domain (example.com), but actually ranking for your subdomain (www.example.com), your results will be a little wonky.
I hope this helps, and feel free to shoot us an email at help@moz.com if you still have questions!
Cheers,
Erin

Yeah in my experience the best way to handle a question based on their software would be to ask them directly. Go here and under the "What can we help you with today?" section, click "Rankings" and shoot them over your question/concern.
They will be able to give u the most help with this type of issue. My opinion is that all rank tracking software (no matter who developed it) is "best effort" and simply a rank capture of a "moment in time". But you clearly have a larger issue than it being inconsistent. Your issue appears to be flat out incorrect.
Good luck and keep us posted on the answer you get!

Thanks for the answers. But my worry is, if the product Moz is working properly or not. I have added 50 keywords, and it shows in all of them it it nor in Top 50, which is crazy! I know alteast on 10 we are in first page, and in few in 2 and 3 pages. On only a few we are not in Top 50.
After paying a lot each month - I wonder if I should rely on this tool.

Is rank tracking even a useful metric?
With results being localized and GA showing "not provided" for the majority of incoming traffic... IIMO rank tracking has become a hamster wheel that we are all running very fast in and not getting anywhere. We've used just about every possible rank tracking tool out there (Moz, Web CEO, My SEO Tool, etc.) and they all have one thing in common. Inconsistency!
We've shifted ALL (and I mean ALL) of our efforts to tracking actual page visits/conversions that are optimized for "said keyword(s)". This has proven to be a FAR better way to track progress and a successful organic campaign.
Check out this article. It has some great tips and pointers on how to set up the funnel. The article focuses on rank tracking for client reports but can be applied elsewhere. http://searchengineland.com/one-positive-pigeon-result-can-finally-ditch-ranking-reports-202778

I love Moz but I find this tool incredibly useful for keeping track of keywords / search terms so I thought i would share it on here it's called My SEO tool - http://www.myseotool.com/
It has always been accurate since I started using it around two years ago and when I manually check on Google and Bing it is bang on.
You can easily set up scheduled emails to go out to your clients periodically which is very useful. I still couldn't live without Moz now though for all of there tools such as the On Page Grader.

Moz's rank tracker just isn't accurate all the time. I've repeatedly had it tell me keywords had massive shifts up or down, even out of the top 50, when a manual review showed no change in rank. Once it had all my keywords out of the top 50 for Yahoo and Bing. The rank tracker is a good estimate, but manually check if you want to know the real ranking.

Top pages > PNGs, JPGs & PDFs > What to do?
After exporting Top pages list in Moz Pro, I noticed lots of pages with high PA (page authority) are actually random images (.png & .jpg) and documents (.pdf). Question 1: Should I make a redirect 301 from an image/document to the actual webpage? If not, what should I do to keep the ranking, but point the URL to the correct place? In addition, lots of highly ranking URLs are actually outdated. They are coming from the old website. I switched to the new one more than a year ago. Question 2: If I create a 301 redirect from the old URL to the new one, will I keep the high ranking? Thanks,

Utilizing the Moz Location in keywords vs including the location in the actual keyword phrase
I've searched the Moz blog as well as Q&A forums - but I specifically have a question about utilizing the Moz Location in keywords vs including the location in the actual keyword phrase. I've done both and get different rankings. For instance, I have "it company" with the Location set to Corpus Christi, Texas and our rank is #3. Then I also have "it company corpus christi" with the Location set to Corpus Christi, Texas and our rank is #6. Additionally, I threw in "it company corpus christi" with the Location set to National and our rank is #7. What is the best practice and what are the determining factors for the differences? Thank you in advance!

Moz Crawl only crawling the top level page (1 page)
For the past few mounts my weekly site crawl has been inconsistent. One week works fine, it crawls all of my 500 or so pages. The following week it only crawls 1 page (http://mydomain.com) and nothing else. A few weekly scan go by and the crawl is back up the the 500 or so pages.I went ahead and created several campaigns with duplicate settings and crawled the site. Most times but not all the new campaign's crawl works fine crawling all pages. But within a week or two the weekly crawl will fail again. (crawling 1 page). Currently i have four campaign's all with the same settings running weekly crawls. 2 campaign's crawled the 500 pages and two crawled only the single page. Any help will be greatly appreciated

Does Organic CTR from Keyword Explorer show percentage of 1st position clicks? If not, how to calculate?
I have two questions about the Organic CTR number from the Moz Keyword Explorer tool. I have read through the description here, but it is not very clear on what I need to know: https://moz.com/community/q/what-is-a-good-keyword-opportunity-score Does it calculate the percent of searchers that are likely to click on ANY of links from page one of the traditional organic search results? Or does it calculate the percent of searchers that are likely to click on the NUMBER 1 position of the traditional organic search results? I suspect the answer will be that it calculates the percentage of clicks for any of the traditional organic search results from page one. Which leads me to question two... I'm trying to calculate the estimated search traffic from each keyword if there was a number 1 ranking. And if the Organic CTR shows the percentage of clicks going to any of the traditional organic search results I need to add a modifier to my formula which will calculate how many clicks the number 1 ranking receives. So I think the formula would will look something like this: Monthly website traffic from keyword = monthly search traffic * Organic CTR * Number 1 Position CTR. In this case, what would I use for the "Number 1 Position CTR" modifier?

Moz Top Pages and Tool Bar Not Crawling Internal Pages and Links
Hello, We’re having two issues with our Moz tools and we’re not sure what’s causing them and whether they are related. The Moz Bar isn’t highlighting some of our internal links (including navigation links). The Top Pages Report in Open Site Explorer is only picking up the homepage and a couple error pages (none of the internal pages). The full Crawl Report is picking up everything though. Could a potential cause of both these issues be the Title attribute in some our links? – We use <a <="" span="">title="Example" href="link"></a> <a <="" span="">Or is this most likely from something else blocking the crawler from accessing our links/pages? Google Search Console does seem to be picking up the links in the navigation and everything is indexed/rendered correctly so we also didn’t know if this is something that could be issue. Any insight or help would be appreciated. Please let us know if there are any details we could provide that might help. Looking forward to hearing from all of you! Thank you in advance. Best,</a>

Moz Bar doesn't show any data and keeps asking me to log in when actually I'm logged in.
Hi all, I've been using Moz Bar for years. It ran well until about three weeks ago. It suddenly failed to show the DA and PA of sites that I open after I log in. And it keeps asking me to log in when I did. I tried to uninstall the Mozbar extension and reinstalled it several times. Nothing worked. I also tried to uninstall Chrome and clear the cookies, still, nothing changed. Did anyone experience this? How do you solve it and make it run on the track? Any information will be appreciated. Why is Moz Crawling More Pages Than My Site Actually Has?
Hi I have a site that only has 5k pages but Moz has crawled 50K pages on the site when I initiated the site crawl. I don't exactly know why Moz is reporting me back so many pages but I was wondering why this is and if any of you out in the Moz community know anything about this. Thanks

Why moz does not update actual keyword possition
I managed to get first place on google by keyword: vervo.lv kravu pārvadājumi in google.lv (it is in first place all this week) But in moz reports it shows just second position? I added so far about 100 keywords to monitor so if it shows incorrect this one how can i trust to other keyword results. Report says it updated on 3. september and it already was in first place. I really need to monitor keywords but if it does not show actual positions it is useless.
