A couple of [daft] analytics questions
-
Hello Mozzers,
I have a couple of anaytics questions I wanted to ask.
- What does 'Not Set' refer to? I assume it is when the user has switched off cookies, but was wondering if this is correct or if there were other circumstances that would trigger this?
- When I look at my reverse goal paths, the same page is in path 1, 2 and 3... Are the pages refreshing?
Thanks!
Amelia

Hi Amelia,
1. I could come up with my own answer but the Google Analytics help guide for this one is way more useful: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/2820717?hl=en

Phantom search results showing up in analytics
Hi, I'm getting these weird phantom search results showing up in my analytics account which is skewing my results. I have a wordpress site, and I do have some custom search results pages, but analytics is telling me these hits are coming from google- which I doubt. The end of the query string (&cat=plus-5-results) is not coming from a link created within my site. Anyone have any ideas? Failing that, would somebody be kind enough to explain how I can ignore these hits, but retain other, valid search result requests? Thanks reading! Will Screenshot%202019-05-16%20at%2022.32.10.jpg

Problems with analytics, conversation data and assisted conversions
Hi guys. Having issues with analytics. Firstly, it doesn't record all our sales accurately. My boss downloaded a sales report directly from our site, and it doesn't match up to the analytics, our actual sales were significantly higher than Google analytics was reporting (by about a 1/3). Any idea why Google is missing so many of the conversions? Also, I'm trying to work our how many assisted conversion we are getting from our ad words campaigns. I've been looking through our top conversion path data to try find conversions that started with a paid click. However, I seem to have some inconsistencies. We have only one ad words group that is on the display network (Re-marketing V1 Ad group 1) , and according to analytics we have a conversion from it (See Screen shot 1). However, there is no record of this in our ad words data. (See screen shot 2). This is over the same time period. I don't know what to take from this. Can anyone help? Isaac. How to filter many cities from Google analytics
I need to filter hundreds of cities from my traffic reports. I've been told that adding them all in this format: |Knutsford|Ripon|Cheadle Hulme|Congleton| and using the 'matching reg/exp from the drop down should do it... Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be working as I can still see cities like London in the results.... Any ideas?

Google Analytics Customer filters & the correct syntax
Good afternoon from torential rain and thunder Wetherby UK 😞 Ive been delving into the world of custom filters in Google analytics and Ive hit a problem. Apart from Googles advice being out of date (wont get into that one) I wanted to set up clone a profile of an existing site and set up a filter that would exclde USA traffic. But a country can be called many things e.g. United Sates USA America so how do you know what is the correct name to put in the filter pattern box? Here is a screen shot of my efforts :http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc53/zymurgy_bucket/filter-toexclude-usatrafficcopy.jpg (I chaned it to United States) So my question is where is there a list of the correct syntax for the filter pattern box? Taker for example you wnated to set up a custom filter to include just Palm OS traffic apprently from reading this the correct filter patter is Palm OS, i only know that from this http://www.e-nor.com/blog/web-analytics/tracking-mobile-devices-in-google-analytics Whilst Google has lots of documentation about filed patterns as documented here http://support.google.com/analytics/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1034380&topic=1034830&ctx=topic Where in the name of flying spacial jockstraps is there documentation for the correct filter pattern syntax. Help my head hurts 😞
