How Quality Score relates to Cost-per-acquisition CPA
-
I'm running purely CPA campaigns at the moment and I'm wondering if my Quality Score is at all relevant. My understanding is that Quality Score is closely tied to clicks, so if I'm not targetting that (but conversions instead) then the Quality Score is not something I need to pay any attention too. In fact, it seems kind of irrelevant.
Do any experts out there agree or disagree? I would love some clarity!
I've never seen Google refer to conversions or CPA when it talks about Quality Score.

When you say you are running a cpa model is that "Focus on conversions (Conversion Optimizer)" in google adwords on the search network?
If So Then they are correct google is still using its regular algorithm which includes quality score they just make the management changes for you based on data

What Dan is saying is that your quality score will directly affect your Cost Per Click and thus your CPA. If you're paying more per click, you're probably paying more per acquisition.
There are a lot of ways to lower your CPA, one aspect of that would be to improve your Quality Score.

Dan, thanks for replying! I guess what I don't get is how it really relates to CPA. With CPA, aren't clicks and position really irrlevant? Isn't Google looking solely at getting me as many conversion at the cost I specify and within my budget?
Sorry, if it sounds like I've just asked the exact same question. I'm struggling to understand it!

Always pay attention to quality score. Your position in the paid ads section is dependent upon your quality score and your bid. The higher your quality score, the less you need to bid to show up higher. The lower your quality score, the higher you have to bid and at times it still doesn't matter, you can't outrank those with high quality scores.
If you want to lower your cost per click and thus lower the cost per acquisition, focus on getting a higher quality score. You will get better rankings, more clicks and pay less per click.

New Adwords Account To Replace Old Low Account Quality Score
I'm dealing with an old adwords account that has been managed by a wide variety of people over many years. From what I can tell, the account has always struggled with low kw quality scores. In addition to other quality score improvements (SKAGs, better landing pages, more ad testing for CTR), what do you think of throwing in the towel on this account and starting a new adwords account... importing the better part of the old account? Any hidden pitfalls I should be aware of and precautions to take or is it all opportunity to start fresh? Thanks!

Why did my Quality Score go down?
Hi, I recently did a 301 redirect for my site to an abbreviated version (it went from flintrehabilitation.com to flintrehab.com) and my quality score tanked. Do you know why that would happen? It says that my landing page is below average but it was average before the redirect. Why the change? Thanks!

Track bounce rate per PPC keyword
Hi all Wondering if anyone could give me a nudge in the right direction with this please. When running an adwords campaign is there a way in which one can track the bounce rate on the landing page per keyword sending paid traffic? I've had a play about in adwords and GA and couldn't find the right option. The site I am sending traffic to is not a ecommerce site so cannot set up conversion tracking so we are going to monitor the bounce rates of different keywords and drop the ones which are bouncing much higher than others as it seems better to invest the budget in those words which are keeping people on the page for longer. Many thanks Carl

Google Product Ads - Improving our Cost Per Conversion?
Hi all, We have been running Google Product Ads (paid for) ever since it began in the UK. We are still struggling to get to grips with the best way to make it worthwhile for us. Our data for the last 14 days:
Conversion Rate Optimization | | complete_outdoors
Clicks: 1827
Impressions: 65789
CTR: 2.78%
Average CPC: £0.22
Cost Per Conversion: £15.13 We've added some auto targets for our most popular brands, with a higher CPC than "all products". We've also added negative keywords so we only come up with relevant searches. Basically, what we'd like to know is: how we can best set-up our product ads to reduce our Cost Per Conversion (I guess everyone would like to do that!), as it is barely worth us using it currently. If you require any further data to help answer my question, please ask. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.0 -
Question regarding eCommerce sites, relative URLs and secuirty certificates
We recently installed a new SSL certificate on an ecommerce site. Our IT Director is insisting that all pages on the site must be coded in such a way so that the address bar maintains a green background when a visitor is navigating the site after navigating to a secure page or logging in. I have worked on many ecommerce sites and never has this been an issue. Amazon does not use the green bar....but they are Amazon. In order for this to work, he is insisting that all internal URLs be coded as relative instead of absolute. How bad is this for SEO or does it really not matter that much? How crucial is it for trust and security? Opinions welcome!

Review Functionality Plugins for eCommerce. Which are the best and most cost effective?
Hi Mozzers! Let me give you a bit of background for my question. I currently look after two eCommerce sites and naturally I want to get them using reviews for products for customer interaction / content and rich snippets. I am basically looking for a cost effective plugin that can plugin to our CMS system that can give us review functionality and will be compatible with rich snippets. At the moment we use Disqus for the blog commenting system and i've heard this can be used for product reviews. Any ideas would be great. At the moment our client is holding back due to 'lack of funds' so the most cost effective measures would be appreciated. Cheers,

Based on what seems like a general agreement that the Panda update has modified Google's algorithm and on page metrics such as Bounce rate, Time on Site & Page views per visit are now vital to a websites rankings. What methods are you using to improve these metrics? Have they worked?
