URL Keyword & Meta Title Problem
-
I was just reviewing my Moz report and came across something I could use advice on.
The Keyword is "irish cardigans" I just moved to down a place to #5. I was going to add content to the page and back link a little to get back up on rankings but I noticed it is not all matching up.
My Keyword is "irish cardigans"
My Url is structured: products/traditional-irish-clothing-arans
My metatitle is: Irish Sweaters - Traditional Irish Clothing - Arans & Cardigans
The content title on the page heading is: Irish Sweaters and Cardigans.
How will I change this to get my ranking better for "Irish Cardigans"
The Page is also ranking for "Traditional Irish Clothing and Irish Sweaters" How do I know if I structure it to "Irish Cardigans" I will not loose traffic etc from the other keywords.
Thanks

Based on what you told us, you could try to rewrite a bit your content and go for h2 and h3 with internal link to this page and why not a blog post too. But better to don't touch the url

It is right that Google is very fond of re-writing titles that it feels better match search criteria. This isn't always a bad thing, but there is more you can do yourself here.
There are two articles I would suggest reading:
http://moz.com/learn/seo/title-tag & Google SEO User Guide
I would also suggest that you try and structure your page titles to follow a format like this:
Just don't go changing your titles frequently - this isn't something Google likes to see and can result in a drop in the SERPs.
Also, try and create some internal linking throughout the site to help Google understand more about the important pages related to specific phrases.

When I search it I actually see that Google has changed the title tag to
"Irish Sweaters & Cardigans - Shamrock Gifts"
But not for "Traditional Irish Clothing and Irish Sweaters"
So that is interesting, Google likes to re-write titles that it thinks will better suit the search.
Perhaps changing your title to "Irish Sweaters & Cardigans - Traditional Irish Clothing"
Maybe that small tweak will make a bit of a difference. Also Google loves content but you are not giving it enough to go on. Think how you could add some more quality content to the page. Maybe go into a bit more detail about where they are made and the work that goes into them. Why they became popular and their place in fashion today. I dont know muuch about them but I am sure you can come up with a few gems.

Funnel Problem in Google Analytics - Please help
Hello, I did set up a several funnel steps in my analytics account to get the funnel visualization report. But it's look fishy, something's clearly wrong that it shows only 10 visitors at the first step but actually more than 5k visitors has visited first goal page and followed through the another all steps. Everyday we are receiving 5k to 10k goal conversions but it not showing in the entire funnel steps through first step to last step. Please see the attached screenshot URL for funnel setup (Admin) and funnel visualization report comparing last two months traffic. Total goal conversions received 3,605 in last two months but in funnel chart (report) it showing only 2% conversions in last step. Anybody can tell me what is the problem with that or analytics not tracking properly?si65Y

Large event site - how should I structure my URLs?
Hi guys, I'm working on a new website which is consolidating a number of existing event sites into one. The existing sites use a variety of URL structures: www.eventsite1.com/events/event-name www.eventsite2.com/festival-program/event-name www.eventsite3.com/event-name This inconsistency has led to issues with tracking category usage properly in analytics - for instance, with eventsite3.com, events fall within categories (www.eventsite3.com/category-name) but as soon as you drill into an event detail page (www.eventsite3.com/event-name) from the category page, the category is lost to analytics. This is compounded when one event lives within multiple categories, as I can't figure out which category is the most effective for a particular event. I've seen other event sites establish a canonical URL for a primary category, display it in the URL (i.e. www.eventsite4.com/primary-category/event-name) yet still let that event get hit via the secondary categories (www.eventsite4.com/secondary-category/event-name). This way, the categories get passed to analytics without any duplicate content issues (i.e. via the setting of canonicals) Basically, I want to make sure that whatever instruction I give to the devs for the new site re: URL structure is correct from an SEO perspective and analytics perspective. Do I even need to worry about having the category in the URL? Can someone please help me with this? Hope this makes sense Cheers

Why is my Domain Authority dropping from 52 to 46 but my Keyword ranking has never been higher?
At the start of August my Domain Authority was 52 but it has fallen to 46 over the course of 8 weeks. At first this was credited to the smaller index that SEOMOZ has taken and when this was certainly in line with our rivals results as well who all suffered a drop. When the index issue was fixed we did see an improvement, back up to 51 at the start of September, pretty much in line with all of our rivals. However our Domain Authority has dropped again and this time it is in complete isolation, none of our rivals have suffered anything like a 3 point drop. Our SEO has never been better with 65% of our keywords ranking in the top 3 and 86% ranking in the top 10. Im wondering what is causing this rapid drop in Domain Authority and what affect, if any, it was have on our future keyword rankings. Thanks, Emmet

How come de results from the old Google Keyword Tool are so different from the results from the keyword planner?
When I insert the keyword 'IT jobs' with Belgium as country and Dutch as the language, there is a huge difference between the results in the keyword planner and the keyword tool. Keyword tool says 1,000,000 local searches per month Keyword planner says 590 local searches per month This is a really big difference and I don't know which results I should trust. Can anybody help me with this?
