Google Adwords Offered to Redesign My Website & A/B Test... Thoughts?

I received a call from the Google Adwords team today offering to redesign major pages of my website & A/B test their design against mine.
The rep said that this is not a standard service they offer and that we had been "selected".
Despite it's overt marketing overtones, I would hate to pass by the opportunity to apply Google's conversion insight to my site.
Has anyone experienced this before? Good experience? Bad experience?

It's Google.
I've worked with the AdWords team before and they are verifying/accessing back end AdWords & Analytics data that only they would have access to.
Still curious though... has anyone ever taken them up on something like this? Did you have a good result?

I strongly agree. These guys call me a lot.
When google calls they use the word "google" once - and without panache. When these guys call they use the word google multiple times in a way that bends the ear. Honest.

I would just verify that they are actually from Google. There are some firms out there that represent themselves as Google when they are not. So verify and then trust.

Yup Google offers to help websites all the time. They've been known to reach out for everything from getting a publisher to help with beta test widgets or adsense to something more custom like this. I suggest you give them a try and see if it works for you.

I do know that, occasionally, Google will be very helpful to individual webmasters.
If this is really a person from Google, I would grab the opportunity, because it might be very beneficial and lead to additional help in the future.
But, I would want to confirm that this really is google. Can you reverse look-up their number, or did they send you a follow-up message by email from a google address?

User Testing a Website
Hello We're soon going to be embarking on a fairly major site overhaul and while this isn't a particularly SEO related question, I’m keen to integrate user feedback quite heavily in this process and would appreciate your opinion as how best to collect this feedback. These are the kind of questions that I would like to pose: Is it clear when you visit the site, what it is that they do? What is your first thought about the site when you visit it? On the homepage, where is your eye drawn to immediately? When wishing to purchase a product, would this product page draw you into the sale? Do you get a general feeling of trustworthiness on the site? Using the series of drop downs on the homepage, please choose any product and follow the process through to the checkout. Did you feel that this was engaging throughout? Rather than yes/no answers I’d like the user to spend a good 5-10 minutes giving their detailed opinions so that we can gain some genuine inspiration on how best to improve the site. What would be the best method of collecting this data? I was thinking perhaps Amazon Mechanical Turk but the thrust of the work offered there seems to be so diverse that I’m not sure we’d get people in tune with offering the kind of detailed answers that I’d be hoping for. Using my Adwords budget
Hi, I have a huge budget for adwords but I only seem to be using about 1/10 of it daily. How to I go about using more budget but also keeping my conversion costs and % around the same? And should each campaign have its own set of unique keywords? Should these keywords never appear in more than 1 campaign? Any tips on maximising budget and increasing conversions would be great. Google Product Ads - Improving our Cost Per Conversion?
Hi all, We have been running Google Product Ads (paid for) ever since it began in the UK. We are still struggling to get to grips with the best way to make it worthwhile for us. Our data for the last 14 days:

Impressions: 65789
CTR: 2.78%
Average CPC: £0.22
Cost Per Conversion: £15.13 We've added some auto targets for our most popular brands, with a higher CPC than "all products". We've also added negative keywords so we only come up with relevant searches. Basically, what we'd like to know is: how we can best set-up our product ads to reduce our Cost Per Conversion (I guess everyone would like to do that!), as it is barely worth us using it currently. Any tips and tricks to increase Conversion Rates on Google PLA?
I have recently organized my Adwords (Product Listing Ads) campaign according to this link: http://certifiedknowledge.org/blog/how-to-create-a-state-of-the-art-pla-campaign While I like the organization and control this provides, my fundamental concern is to increase conversions. I understand conversions are dependent on other factors such as landing pages etc. Are there any Google Adwords tips someone has had success with to increase CTR and increase conversion rates? Pating $10/day to Google Adwords while only getting a sporadic business every 3 days is getting a bit frustrating. Are there any tools in MOZ that can help find faults and generate simple reports on the Google Adwords campaign? Any help is much appreciated.

Google Analytics: Do 'Goals' actually work?
Hi, Hoping someone can clarify this for me. I've set a goal up whereby the rule is to pick up all pages with "Thank-you" in the destination URL (regular expression). So, when someone fills out a form, it will count as a lead. I'm about 8 weeks in to the campaign now and measuring the last 4 weeks I've had a total of 30 goals completed. I have two issues with this and I really hope someone can help clarify: Using a custom report I can see that I've actually had 52 Visits to the Thank-You pages, 49 Unique Visits and 60 pageviews. Where is Google getting the goals from? I have 51 leads in my inbox from the campaign so far. So, much closer to the above stats in the custom report than in the Goal report. Why is this? Google Merchant/ Googlebase Images at top of SERPS
Hi We are based in the UK and the new merchant rules have recently been applied here. We offer free shipping but now most of our click throughs come from the images at the top of the SERPS that simply give an image and a price. The prices do not include shipping and there's no indication to the user that shipping is included. Hence our conversion rate from PPC is way down. Is there any way to counter this or do we just need to go back to charging for shipping? Thanks!

How much time is enough to test?
I am not an adwords expert but this is is the strategy I am following: 1. I create an adgroup for each set of keywords that will target the same ad. 2, I set the bid high to appear first. 3. After 3 to 5 days I remove the ones with low CTR over the impressions, anything below 1%. For example: for this url: http://www.theprinterdepo.com/hp-laser-4250-printer-q5400a-r I created an AD, and initially I put 10 keywords, after one week I had wasted a lot of money, after 4 days I deleted 7 keywords, and after 8 days, I left only one keyword with a very good CTR of almost 3% and conversion rate of 4%. The question is: how much is enough time to test and remove keywords? is one day of data good enough? Should I make this test with the highest bid possible? Should I keep the high bid forever?? 11 dollars for one click seems pretty expensive for one printer of 200 dollars when converted. Does position 1 guarantee more conversions? Maybe as long as it appears on the first 5 or 6 then its enough so I can decrease bid?
