Paid Comparison Shopping Engines
-
I am looking into starting to use the comparison shopping engines. Any ideas on where to start wtih this? Is there a good place to go that would manage all the different sites?
-
Shopping comparison(SC) sites work of a product data feed which is specific to every site. So you've got two options
1. Create a data feed for every SC site you want to use or
2. Use a third party such as www.godatafeed.com who will take one feed from you and create the multiple specific feeds
Some SC sites have implemented a bidding system others use a fixed cost per click. If you go for the first option you can use Analytics software to optimise your feed (optimise titles/descriptions to increase CTR, remove items which have high Cost/Conversion). If you go for the second option, they will most likely optimise feeds for you.

Hi Nicole,
Did you make any decisions on comparison shopping engines? Do you have anything you can share with us that others might find helpful, or do you have some more questions still? We're going through and trying to clean up the questions that are still marked unanswered. Thanks for your help!

We have been managing clients data feeds for the comparison shopping engines for 2 years. We use Pricegrabber, Nextag, Shopzilla, Google Product Search, and Bing Merchant Center to name a few. We use a product called GoDataFeed to manage all our feeds. It is $99 a month and once you get the hang of it is so much simpler than trying to manage all the feeds manually. Also a great resource to check out that took us forever to find is called CPC Strategies, and their blog has useful information at http://blog.cpcstrategy.com/. They also put out the quarterly comparison of all the shopping engines. Hope that helps.

You want to place banner ads on them or you want your stock to appear on their sites?
If the former you're looking for an ad buying agency (assuming you don't want to do it yourself), if the latter you're probably going to have to provide the sites an API into your product database so they can query stock and prices.

I want to advertise on them. But I want to hire it out to someone who knows how to efficiently market designer goods.

Starting to use them how?

Can Google Shopping Ads Lower Ranking due to Bounce?
I am noticing Google Shopping Ads are showing up for really irrelevant keywords on some of my products. This quite predictably causes a high bounce rate when a user comes from these ads. There is very little control over what Google Ads seems to decide are relevant keywords from what I can see. Only control is by viewing search terms and setting as negative keywords, but his doesn't help much. Negative keywords are often ignored or they come up with some other really irrelevant new keyword. Seems this high bounce rate could hurt ranking? Any experiences shared with Google Shopping ads appreciated!

Would you launch a paid search campaign with 'Exact Match' only keywords
Hi Mozzers, I'm building a new campaign for a business start-up, and search volumes with the industry are HUGE! I want to target high commercial intent keywords, to maximise the number of conversions / sales from my paid search campaigns. Using the forecasting tool in Adwords, it looks like I can [exact match] these high commercial intent keywords and still get the click volume I'm aiming for. Would you, therefore, use this approach - where you only match at an exact level to control the quality of traffic coming through from the paid search campaigns? I plan to achieve relevance by having ad groups broken down into clear themes with around 10 - 15 exact match keywords per ad group. Let me know your thoughts... Thanks!

Custom Filter: Organic Traffic Growth VS Paid Traffic Growth
Hi guys, I need some assistance. We recently removed and disavowed links to our site and I believe it has been about 3 months but I can't see much of a change. Can anyone help me with a filter for GA to be able to measure my organic traffic growth and my Paid search traffic growth. I was also wondering, because organic traffic is determined by variables like fresh, relavant and key phrase rich content constantly being posted, good seo practices etc is there any good way of measuring organic traffic growth vs paid? Please help out where you can.

G Analytics Appears to Show Bing but not Yahoo Paid Traffic
I am running ads across Bing / Yahoo network. I have set up a unique destination URL for these Bing / Yahoo Ads, using Google Campaigns URL Builder. However, in Google Analytics it appears to keep showing as organic traffic from Yahoo. What may be going wrong here?

Paid Press Release Site - Our competitors do it... and it seems to work?
Hi Im seeing our competitors use sites like 24-7pressrelease.com to release rather uninteresting and dubious press releases and it seems to be, looking at their link profiles, the lions share of all links to these particular landing pages. Yet since I've joined SEOMOZ all i've seen is that PR sites don't work and arent worth it. So far, I've resisted doing any PR stuff and have just kept on creating and promoting content which is severely time heavy work. Is there really 0 value in these? If i have 0 PR currently and add just a couple is that worth it? The co. we compete against are at it every week with this site and similar paid sites. Are they making a mistake?
