Reusing reviews from other sites for branded rich snippet taken from brands testimonial page
-
Hi my customer has had a new website built for their custom home building company which has a testimonials page http://www.precisionhomes.com.au/testimonials.html
This testimonials page has duplicate review content taken from another dedicated review site http://www.productreview.com.au/p/precision-homes.html
My question is this, if I add review microdata to http://www.precisionhomes.com.au/testimonials.html will google recognize this in Rich snippets and the Brands Knowledge Graph or will it just consider it duplicate content?

Hi David,
EGOL is right in that you first need to discover the policy of the 3rd party review site regarding reusing their content. If they allow this, they may have some type of widget you can just add in-page to showcase your reviews there, but if republishing their reviews isn't allowed, you could run into problems. Regarding Google, they do not want testimonials marked up with rich snippets, but I'm not 100% sure how they feel about 3rd party reviews that you are republishing on your website. I've not seen any word from them on this.

Before thinking about SEO, you might find out who owns these reviews or holds copyright to them.
I think if you grab reviews from productreview.com that there may be problems.

Structured data - reviews & aggregateRating
Hi all, We recently implemented structured data for reviews, specifically aggregateRating, on a few of our pages as a test. An example page is: https://www.vouchedfor.co.uk/financial-advisor-ifa/cambridge/01740-duncan-hannay-robertson Initially, this seemed to work well and we could see the star ratings and review number showing in Google search results. However, now it seems to have disappeared. Search console and the testing tool seem to suggest the structured data looks fine - when I posted this in the webmasters forum, the response I got was that it was because we're trying to mark what google deems a 'person' as a 'local business', which triggers their spam warning. And you can't have reviews for a person, apparently. I guess we're unique in that we're a review platform for professional advisers (for example, financial advisers). So whilst the profile is for a person, it's also a business - the reviews are for the professional services clients receive. Feels unfair to be penalised just because Google hasn't thought of our use case! We'd love to be able to showcase our review content, but feels like we're running out of ideas here. If anyone has any ideas for how we can make this work, it would be hugely appreciated!!

Google My Business right had side block disapeared for a brand search
Hi Just redeveloped my site and went live end of April Since then whenever i do a branded search the GMB 'pack' has always shown on the right hand side whenever i do a branded search but it has disapeared as of the last couple of days. Any ideas why this can happen ? and is it anything to worry about or just a google 'glitch' that should right itself soon? If not any ideas how to fix ? (accounts and website all properly linked) etc When i go to GMB dashboard and click 'View on Search' it does show up as it should, but not when i go to do a google search for the brand name !? All Best Dan

Beware of Fishy 4-Star Reviews
Hello to all our folks who market local businesses! I came across something this week that I felt was important enough to share. Hopefully, if you're a Moz blog reader or a Moz Local customer, you're already well aware of the importance of monitoring your Google My Business reviews on an ongoing basis, responding to them as they come in, whether they're positive or negative. And, you know to be on the lookout for spam reviews. But a strange new form of spam seems to be emerging that might be really easy to overlook at first. We're all familiar with the spammer who leaves you fake 1-star reviews for the purpose of harming your brand. But you might not immediately be suspicious of a 4-star review, or even a string of 4-star reviews until you realize your former 5 star rating has been whittled down by a succession of less-than-perfect, fake reviews. The worst thing, I think, about this tactic, is that it can be overlooked. Jason Brown has captured this phenomenon in his recent post: http://reviewfraud.org/4-star-negative-review-attacks/ and I highly recommend reading it and paying extra attention to any 4-star reviews companies you market may be receiving. I'd suggest, if you find this going on with any of the GMB listings you manage, you report it to Jason so that he can continue to track this activity. He's a Google forum TC, and, perhaps, with enough evidence, he might eventually be able to make a case to Google about this practice.

Structured Data Reviews in Knowledge Panel
I need help with getting my site appearing in the knowledge panel for reviews. Our reviews are appearing in the search snippets but not on the knowledge panel when our competitors with far fewer reviews are. We’ve labored over best practices in perfecting our markup but would love a second opinion to see if there’s something we’re overlooking. For example take this venue on our website: https://www.eventsource.ca/cathedral-centre It has 136 of our own reviews. https://www.google.ca/search?q=cathedral+centre We are the 1st result and it shows our star rating, reviews and price range. However, we don’t appear in the knowledge panel - this is happening for almost every business we have listed on our site. In this particular example, the knowledge panel has en Ville Catering with 45 reviews. I cannot find any errors in our structured data but I see it in our competition: https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool#url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.eventsource.ca%2Fcathedral-centre https://enville.com/saint-james-cathedral-centre-wedding-catering/ Example 2: Search: https://www.google.ca/search?q=burlington+convention+centre US: https://www.eventsource.ca/burlington-convention-centre

What affect do reviews have?
Hello all. Currently, I am seriously considering including a customer reviews panel on the product pages of my ecommerce site. Does anyone have any previous experience, bad or good. Also, what sort of affect do positive/negative reviews have on search engine rankings. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Schema Markup for email with review action for Google places listing - Auto segment.
Hi Guys I have been trying to integrate schema markup with review action into car purchase emails to drive additional reviews for dealership google places listings. I have used the below mark-up but im struggling to get the review action when defining itemtype as AutoDealer. When changing itemtype to FoodEstablishment the review action works perfectly. Has anyone got any suggestions why this may be or have any experience using the review action within emails for google places or itemtype other than FoodEstablishment. I have read the great Moz post on this here but im still struggling. Thanks in advance for any help! See mark-up below... http://schema.org/EmailMessage">http://schema.org/ReviewAction">http://schema.org/Review">https://schema.org/AutoDealer">https://schema.org/Rating">http://schema.org/HttpActionHandler">http://schema.org/Property">http://schema.org/Property"> http://schema.org/HttpRequestMethod/POST"/>

Having Yelp Reviews Removed
Since we all work with Yelp on a local basis, I believe many are aware that if a review is placed by a non customer about a company, Yelp will typically remove them if you show that it isn't valid, etc. We all know they made a show of outing those who posted fake reviews as well. Here is a question I have though: Have any of you been aware of Yelp taking down valid negative reviews for companies? I have just run into this and find it somewhat perplexing. If you know of this, I would love to hear how it happens? Thanks,
