Can any one give some advise on how to work out which back links are bad

can any one tell me how to work out which ones to disavow

Hi Li,
You can use Moz Spam Score but you probably want to use a more specialized link-profile tool like Majestic or AHRefs.
Majestic: www.majestic.com
AHRefs: https://ahrefs.com
These options are great for determining the value of links coming into your site. I personally use Majestic since it's easy to present to clients and help them understand link profiles, but AHRefs has a larger database.
When it comes to disavowing, you just want to conduct a domain search through one of these tools, and the spammy websites will be readily apparent. Look for inbound links coming from sites that are irrelevant to your website. You may have to go through the link lists manually and judge for yourself whether they are coming from spammy sources. You will know based on whether or not the website uses the same language your website does, whether the link metrics are good (are there tons of links coming from a few referring domains, or are these numbers roughly equal?) and where are these websites hosted?
Check into these metrics and you are well on your way to determining which links are worthy of removal/disavowal.
Hope this helps!
Rob

Also, don't just look to the spam score but check what the score was based on.
Example: A real good and populair site without contact information will get a spam score.
Use Open Site Explorer as an indicator but just check those sites manualy. It would be a pitty if you deleted realy good backlinks only beacause OSE says it has a spam score.

HI Li,
I think I answered this in your other question.
"...If your goal is to get rid of bad links, you can use the Open Site Explorer to see a sites "Spam Score". Any domain with a rating of 7+ is probably a good candidate."

Good luck,
Don

Too Many on page links on my homepage question?
Question, on moz analytics, for my homepage, I've gotten the " Too many on page links" notification every crawl. I've always ignored it because i didnt think it affected ranking or anything really. The on page links on the bottom of our homepage are landing pages. Most users reach those pages by searching those specific pages on google. We just decided to put them on the bottom of our page for unknown reasons. My question is, should i remove the landing pages on the bottom of our homepage? WIll it improve search rankings for my homepage? if i do remove them, should i put the landing pages on another page besides the homepage? Does google index my website better without the on page links on my homepage? My website is- prestigeluxuryrentals.com

Internal Linking Question(s)
Is it unwise to link internally to a page more than once on the homepage. I am reading that it is considered spammy. I am also reading that it passes PR twice to the internal page instead of just once... Which is it? Is there a way to stop passing PR to the "contact us" page. I watched an older video that Matt Cutts suggested a nofollow. Now I read that this strategy is a no no? Which is it? Thanks! 🙂

Are My footer links bad?
I started working here recently, they said the footer links were to help with navigation of their most popular products. I am curious after reading http://www.seomoz.org/blog/internal-linking-strategies-for-2012-and-beyond if having these footer links could hurt the ranking of those key words after the penguin update. I am looking more into the analytics, and have not seen a negative impact yet.

Internal Linking
Hi Everyone, Should i be careful of how many internal links I have on one page? For example if i have a page that contains 700 words, can i have 5, 10, 15 internal links linking to other pages on my website? Is there a ratio for best practice. I know that internal linking is important for spiders to crawl your website but at the same time dont make it look spammy. I hope this makes sense. Thanks for any help.

Can my amount of internal linking seem spammy ?
Ecommerce site. I am optimizing for each producer of products on a separate page. Atm my provider does lack some functions(i cant put in H1 , title and can put text only product pictures) on the product pages - like here http://www.epleskrinet.no/smafolk/M_23 . The are updating within 1-2 months to allow me do this. This has led to actually some of the products themself ranking higher that the producer page. what Ive been doing is to put anchor text and link back to the producer page for all 9 products on this page. Is that a problem or should i just do it like this ? thanks

Too many on page links
Our home page (and 1400 of our other pages) have well over 100 links, going beyond the recommend amount. Our competitors have less on page links (to other pages on their site) and way more link popularity so we are trying to figure out the best solution for this without hurting our sites conversions and usbaility.
