How we can rank two keywords
-
Here is my example. I developed a property inspection app, where the keyword I try to rank is property inspection app, and property inspection software. Property Inspection Software got slightly more traffic than app. I would like to rank both of this keyword high for my main website, but there is only one title, one H1 tag I can use to have keyword, where if I use "App" there is no way to have "Software" on the title, etc. How can I deal with such a case? Any help will be appreciate.
-
Too many worry to try, because the changes might completely destroy the SEO, or may benefit SEO. But there is no sure answer. So I will try to gradually make the changes to see what happens, rather than a sudden change. Thank you for your reply. I will also try long tail keyword and more content on the marketing end. And for sure I have tons to talk about the app.

I'm thing about the same, prepare for the updates on the website now. I will share the progress and how that will affect ranking here if there are many major increase or decrease of ranking. But another questions, is google will rank high for keyword targeted page. for ex,
www.snapinspect.com/property-inspection-app rather than www.snapinspect.com the second is a domain which is more trust than the first url.

Hi Terrysun -
It's a good question to be sure. Why not have separate pages targeted at the different keywords? Since you have both iOS and Android apps, your homepage can be targeted at [Property Inspection Software] and then you can use site.com/ios-property-inspection-app and site.com/android-property-inspection-app to rank for those specific keywords. If you want, then have a page a level higher at site.com/property-inspection-app to target that specific keyword.
Hope this helps!
-
Agreed! Terrysun, you may also want to read through Cyrus Shepard's "Keywords to Concepts." It's getting to be a bit on the older side, but it's a huge help in understanding how you don't necessarily have to rely on your exact-match keywords.
-
Just try to work them both into the content, meta, etc. Example Title: Property Inspection Software: Free App (iOS, Android)
Put less focus on cramming your exact keywords across your page and more focus on writing natural & marketing.

Hi,
Sorry about the confuse. I'm running a website www.snapinspect.com have app (iOS and Android), and an web app to server property inspection. I tried to rank this site higher with keyword "Property Inspection Software", and "Property Inspection App". But from page title point of view, I can not put both two keywords in for better ranking both. While "Property Inspection Software" have more search volume, but since website title was on "SnapInspect Property Inspection App Software" for quite a while. I'm afraid my changes will make the ranking even worse. So I took small steps to change the title to "Property Inspection App & Software - SnapInspect", and "App" keyword rank increased instantly within 2 days time, but "Software" keyword havn't pickup yet. So any way I can rank both keywords high? Even if you go through the other better rank page, they have less Doamin Authority and Page Authority still above mine.

I am little confused here. Are you talking about ranking the app in app store or you has a website for an app that you are trying to ranking in search engines? OR you are trying to rank your app in search engines?
I would love if you can describe a little more and maybe I can be of your help.

Optimise root level page for secondary keyword or try to make second level rank?
My Main keyword ranks no where in the top 100 for any pages in my site. for / I am ranked at number 10 for a great secondary keyword. Really want to get this secondary keywordranking on /secondary-keyword.html , should I focus my main page only on my primary keyord and remove any references to "Secondary Keyword"? What I feel here is that I would be sacrificing my rank for "Secondary Keyword"

General drop in rankings
We've made a LOT of improvements to our on page SEO and we've been on the right track, but since about 26/7 our rankings appears to have gone down. Since early 2015 we've reworked a lot of the copy on our site to improve the unique/duplicate ratio, we've redone a lot of urls that didn't make any sense. We've improved image alt-text and file names. We've reduced image size on most of the site and we have disavowed spam links (obvious ones like nike shoes and oakley glasses). We've basically improved on-site SEO as much as we can with headers and whatnot. We've been hacked 4 times since January and we had two partial manual penalties from Google, but they were quickly dealt with and we've switched server to one that is both safer and a lot faster. Most of the hacked content seems to have disappeared from Googles index but not all of it. We have also tried our best to deal with URL parameters and we've made 301's out of hundreds of URLs with duplicate content from old slideshows that basically only had an image. And there's even more things we've done like working a lot more with social media, but despite all that were loosing ranking every week and our SEOlytics SVR is at its lowest since early 2014. And we've never (afaik) bought links or anything like that. Obviously we're doing something wrong but frankly we're running out of ideas. We've lost rankings on individual important phrases but there's site-wide general drop.

Which page to rank for a Keyword? Home Page or Deep Page?
So, we have a situation where there is one particular keyword we want to rank for. We have been up and down over the years, at our best probably position 4-5, and now at 20ish. Thats for our home page of course, which the majority of our linking is probably pointing at. We also have a sub page which is optimised for that particular service. The term is "web design brisbane".
On-Page Optimization | | MauriceKintek
So as you can imagine, Web Design is in itself a service and we offer others. Should we optimise our home page for it and remove the sub page?
Keep the sub page because its one our services and optimise both?
Do some kind of canonical thing?
Change our interlinking? All our competitors home pages seem to be the ones that rank, and it feels and looks better in results if its the home page, but if switching up to our sub page is better im all ears. Also if our sub page is somehow hurting or leaking SEO from the home page, id like to know as well. Would prefer to not have to provide a link, due to competition but if someone wants to know we can always PM.0 -
If I want to rank well on one keyword would it be better to optimize multiple pages on the website for the keyword or should I only optimize one page for that keyword?

Avoid Keyword Self-Cannibalization
Hi I'm a little bit confused about my on page report. I prepared 2 version of on page seo report for the same targeted keyword and the same URL, but one of the url with www. and the other without it. In the one that i entered the URL with www. the report came with warning about the "Avoid Keyword Self-Cannibalization" we suggest staying away from linking internally to another page with the target keyword(s) as the exact anchor text. As I see on my webpage there is no anchor text at all pointing to another internal page using the targeted keyword. I'm sure that I didn't use my targeted keyword with any link . Thanks in advance for anyone If can help or explain what is that ? If I have to write the URL and the keyword no problem for me. Thanks

Some of my pages are ranking for terms which I want other pages to rank for. What can I do to effectively switch the ranking?
Some of the pages are ranking for terms I have optimised other pages for. The pages which are ranking are quite rightly falling, because they aren't optimised for the terms they're showing for. However, I have pages which are optomised for those terms. How do I switch the SERPS to the page I want?
