With the release of so many domains from .expert through to even .xyz why don't we see many around the top of SERPS?
-
And should I use one of these to create a nice looking site, invest time, energy, resource, money or will I simply regret it later and stick to the main TLDs?
First question on Moz (yey)

Hi, we are using www.9.digital and its ranking well in SERPs for related keywords. So i don't think that preference is always given to .com or .net domains.
Thanks!

Thank you
Interesting comment on immediate and perceived 'trust' which is where of course the conversion funnel truly starts

Hello,
I think the most important is to find an easy to remember domain name, whether in .com, .net or with new extension. SEO will be the same !

Hi, Nice to see your first question.
I think that this question is one for "opinions" because Google will say that they treat all of these domains the same. I think that Google is being honest with that answer. But, there are a few reasons why you don't see many of these new domains at topSERPs.
1) Getting to topSERPs these days takes a lot of work and a lot of time. Most of these new types of domains have not been around long enough to reach that level in today's ultra-competitive environment.
2) Some people don't like these domains. They think that searchers who have never seen them before will be skeptical about trusting them. I agree. I don't have any plans of using one. I'd rather pay $X,XXX or $XX,XXX to get a nice .com. I put a lot of work into my sites and the cost of a nice domain is small compared to the amount of work that will go into the site.

Google is showing erroneous results on SERPs page
Hello, All, In April, two months ago, we caught a hack on a client's website. It created about 40 pages in what looked to be a black hat link tactic. We removed the pages, resubmitted the sitemap.xml (it reprocessed) and ran it through screaming frog to confirm all the pages were gone, but the forty pages still show up in the search results for a site search. We have both the www. and non www. version of sites claimed and set a preference. Nothing is awry with the robots.text. We're not really sure what to do to resolve it. We asked Google to recrawl (fetch) the site. I'm not sure what's going on with it. The website's name is fortisitsolutions.com The site search bringing up the pages from the hack is below. site:www.fortisitsolutions.com Any ideas?

Can anyone see what hurt me in my traffic
http://www.freescrabbledictionary.com/ I need some fresh eyes on this traffic of mine. I have compared the dates to when updates have been rolled out (panda, penguin, page layout, top heavy, etc...) and I cant match these dates with any of them. Can anyone maybe shed some light to my traffic drops and recovery then traffic drop again and see if there is a correlation with any major updates? Title Tags not Displaying in SERPs Correctly
We have two websites that are very similar. One is .co.nz and the other is a .com.au. I've noticed some of our page titles are displaying differently in SERPs even though the title tags are formatted the same:e.g. The title: "PC Games | at Mighty Ape Australia" shows as: "PC Games | at Mighty Ape Australia - MightyApe.com.au"It's showing with extra text "- MightyApe.com.au". Whereas the NZ result for the title "PC Games | at Mighty Ape NZ" is fine i.e. displays as: "PC Games | at Mighty Ape NZ"Does anyone who why this might be happening?P.S. It's odd that in the Australian results the site links don't show up even though the sites are structured the same.

Domain authority dropped a lot in last month
I thought I'd asked this earlier but it seems to have disappeared. My client's domain authority has hovered at around 42-46 for the past 6 months. But in the past month it has dropped 6 points. Organic search traffic is up, no keyword rankings have fallen, external links are up slightly, but not massively. Competitors remain roughly the same DA although theirs are only around 14/16 anyway. What should I be looking for as to the cause?

Too many broken links which i am unable to understand
Dear All, There are some links which are cropping up again and again in my google webmaster tools. I am using wordpress and genesis theme. Both are upgraded to the latest version. But there are 3 types of errors being created as mentioned below. tag/target-markets/%E2%80%9Dhttp:/www.wordpress.org%E2%80%9D tag/smartphone-apps/%E2%80%9Dhttp:/%E2%80%9Dhttp:/www.marketing91.com%E2%80%9D how-to-maintain-customer-interest/%3C?php%20the_permalink()%20?%3E As you can see, either wordpress.orf or marketing91.com or php%20 the _permalink is being added at the end of URLs and they are breaking. This cannot be seen in google index. But this indicates wrong coding and due to it my traffic is regularly dropping. Can you tell me what is causing the break in URL like above. My website is http://www.marketing91.com Thanks in advance. This has being going on for 2 months 🙂 Hope someone comes out with the right answer.

Why aren't our articles ranking in Google?
We have a website promoting Pakistani lawyers online. The website also has an articles section where we post articles reviewing different legal cases and laws. All of our articles are written by actual lawyers are high quality and unique. Website itself doesn't have large page/site authority but its not a baby website either. I can't figure out why our articles don't rank on Google. Here are few of the articles:

http://www.pakistanilawyers.com/articles/pakistani-law-insolvency-guide-460/ I don't know whether its simply because there are not enough links pointing to our website or if there is a problem in the website itself that i can't find. Thanks for the help0 -
