What's the best way to host Videos on my Wordpress site? (SEO-wise)
-
I have a hard time choosing whether to stream my videos from certain platforms like vimeo, youtube, etc. or embedding the videos into my site, and I'm not quite sure which one Google would like to see more of? And which style will save my page speed from plummeting too much. Any ideas? Thanks guys

Hey Joseph,
Great question. Typically, the only two options I recommend are either YouTube or Wistia.
The short answer is either of these platforms are great, but depending on your goals one might be better than the other.
If your goal is to increase traffic to your website, Wistia is typically the better option. This is because your videos are optimized to rank with Wistia, and your pages will actually rank with the videos.
YouTube is great for brand awareness and pushing a specific video strategy out to the world. This is because it's already a great platform and many people use it.
The good news? You can totally use both.
I've seen many brands upload a video on their site using Wistia and then upload that same video to YouTube 2 weeks later in order to grab the best of both worlds. I personally don't think this is necessary (it might also be confusing to users having similar content in two completely seperate places), but it's totally doable and legitimate.
Hope that helps!

If you want your videos to rank in search results under your domain, you should look at hosting your videos on with a service like Wistia or SproutVideo and then embed that video on your webpage.
I thought they rounded it up nicely here: https://wistia.com/doc/video-seo
Unless you have a really good & fast webhost with video expertise (you will need multiple video formats for each video), you are better off not self-hosting for page speed.

Telling Google SERP's my correct currency.
Hi, I'm having a problem with Google SERP results showing my currency as USD, when it should be CAD. An example of a page with this problem is - http://www.absoluteautomation.ca/fgd400-sensaphone400-p/fgd400.htm - can anyone see where Google is getting USD from on there? I don't see it anywhere in the coding. Thanks in advance!

Two URL's for the same page
Hi, on our site we have two separate URL's for a page that has the same content. So, for example - 'www.domain.co.uk/stuff' and 'www.domain.co.uk/things/stuff' both have the same content on the page. We currently rank high in search for 'www.domain.co.uk/things/stuff' for our targeted keyword, but there are numerous links on the site to www.domain.co.uk/stuff and also potentially inbound links to this page. Ideally we want just the www.domain.co.uk/things/stuff URL to be present on the site, what would be the best course of action to take? Would a simple Canonical tag from the '/stuff' URL which points to the '/things/stuff' page be wise? If we were to scrap the '/stuff' URL totally and redirect it to the 'things/stuff' URL and change all our on site links, would this be beneficial and not harm our current ranking for '/things/stuff'? We only want 1 URL for this page for numerous reasons (i.e, easier to track in Analytics), but I'm a bit cautious that changing the page that doesn't rank may have an affect on the page that does rank! Thanks.

New site not ranking for it's name
Performed on-page SEO for this new site that went live a couple of weeks ago - no link building or anything of that nature yet. http://maven-management.com I'm starting to see the site rank on Bing for some keyword phrases but it doesn't rank for the business name "Maven Management" on any major search engine. SEOMoz gives my on page optimization an A for the business name for the home page. Am I just being impatient? I didn't really put much effort into ranking for the business name because that generally seems to happen without any issue. There are other companies online with the same name. Any insight is appreciated.

Rethinking company's monthly content production process.
I'm trying to rethink my company's content production process. I believe that we're stuck using a formula that works but can surely be improved. Our Current Process It essentially boils down to posting a certain number of content pieces per month for each client. After the pages are approved and live, there isn't much thought given to them. What We're Thinking After taking a step back, we realize now that a lot of these clients have sites with a tremendous amount of content that is rarely, if ever, revisited. In hopes of creating higher quality content and avoiding having to write that certain number of pieces per month, we're investigating alternative strategies to ensure each client has fresh content. What We're Looking Into Page Edits/Refreshes - I'm beginning to wonder if we can get similar gains by simply refreshing the content that already exists. We can include additional keywords and improve the content in a fraction of the time that it takes to produce a new piece. We're struggling to come up with a process for refreshing the content, however. Ideally we'd be implementing a process where content is revisited 6-12 months, but that still doesn't take care of the problem of creating too much new content. Simplified Version I believe that my company is creating too much content. Editing/refreshing seems like a better use of resources, but I have no idea how to implement a process and develop procedures. Questions What does your content production process look like? Do you produce a certain number a month, a quarter, as needed, etc? How do you go about refreshing your content?
