GTM: Transaction value without tax as variable
-
Hi Mozzers,
I'm trying to create a GTM variable for transaction value without tax. There is no datalayer field for this at the moment.
e.g. I only have these fields in the datalayer:
- Revenue (€19.99)
- Tax (€3.47)
- Price (€19.99)
No field with the price without tax. Is there a way to create a variable? Is it possible to work with a specific function?
Or is it standard to implement an extra field in the datalayer?
Many thanks,
Sander -
Hi James,
I can't figure out how to subtract the tax...
Thanks,
Sander

If website users don't accept GDPR cookie consent, does that prevent GA-GTM from tracking pageviews and any traffic from that user that would cause significant traffic decreases?
I've been doing a lot research on GDPR impact and implementation with GTM-GA for clients, but it's been 12 months since GDPR has gone live I haven't found anything on how GA traffic has been impacted if users don't accept cookie consent. However, I'm personally seeing GA accounts taking huge losses in traffic since implementing GDPR cookie solutions (because GTM/GA tags aren't firing until cookies are accepted). Is it common for websites to see significant decreases in traffic due to too many users not accepting cookie consent? Are there alternative solutions to avoid traffic loss like that and still maintain GDPR compliance? It seems to me that the industry underestimated how many people won't accept cookie consent. Most of the documentation and articles around GDPR's start (May 2018) didn't foresee or cover that aspect properly, everything seems to be technically focused with the assumption that if implemented properly most people would accept cookie consent, but I'm personally not seeing that trend and it's destroying GA data (lost traffic, minimal source attribution, inaccurate behavior data, etc). Thanks.

How do sites without access to a site's analytical data, determine a site's organic traffic?
I've recently used a organic traffic checker that showed you your traffic compared to each google algo update. I was interested in how they derived the organic traffic totals for each month, without having access to our site's google analytics? I've since compared the data to historical google analytics data and it's not wrong, isn't 100% match either but isn't far from fact. So if they're predicting or making a guess, it's rather spot on, site crawlers and SERPs snapshots only provide so much info, I'm just wondering where they get the rest from and how?

Two GTM tags
Hi guys, I need some help on the following: My client has different websites worldwide all with country extensions and on overall .com domain. These websites (and GTM accounts) are all managed by local agencies. We would like to implement a cross domain tracking GA account in order to see some overall trends and numbers. We don't want to implement our codes in the existing containers as they are in many cases managed by local agencies. Is it really negative to implement two GTM containers on one website? Any other ideas? Thanks,

sessions end after 30 minutes and campaigns end after 6 months ) is it okay if i don't change this settings? As of now in my analytic i have configured google adwords, google webmaster and google merchant. In analytic i have also set custom alerts, goals, funnels, enchance link attribution, eCommerce etc but google analytics code i have already added in google tag manager, so i have to some manual changes for all such things? or all the things i.e goals, funnel, alerts etc will be transferred automatically at time of transferring the property? In Google tag manager i have already configured following things :- Tags :- Name - Google adwords Conversion Tracking b) Type - Adwords Conversion Tracking c) Rules - order sucessful page Name - Google Analytic Page view Tracking b) Type - Classic Google Analytics c) Rules - All pages Name - Google Analytic Conversion Tracking b) Type - Classic Google Analytics c) Rules - order sucessful page Name - Twitter Conversion Tracking b) Type - Custom HTML tag c) Rules - order sucessful page So at time of transferring property all this will be transferred automatically? Also at thank you page of my website I have scripts for goal setting, Affiliator, so there is no relation of this with migration right? Kind co-operation in the matter of highly be appreciated. Link value when with parameter ?
Hi all, I added some links to my website, but because I want to track traffic and other things, all links were created with Google URL Builder and slightly customized. So the end result looks like this: http://www.example.com/example_home.asp?acs=986lfqa&utm_source=keyword.fr&utm_medium=RP&utm_content=example_Link&utm_campaign=General All links are containing keyword as anchor text. And the question is if Google is smart enough to figure out that the anchor text is for http://www.example.com and not for the whole /example_home.asp............ I'm afraid that it will see it as entirely different page and don't pass link value.

How to Turn Google Analytics Into Your Own Rank Tracker Using Custom Variables
I followed the instructions here http://www.seomoz.org/blog/gettings-rankings-into-ga-using-custom-variables, but cannot see the report in Analytics under "Custom Variables". As I dont know JS syntax, I assume the code is wrong. I just added dohertyjf's code under my normal tracking code. Can someone tell me if and where the error is? | | Much obliged!
