Moz Crawler fails on the first page
-
Hi guys,
Can anybody shed some light, I'm running a crawl on a client's website but it's failing on the homepage and not crawling any other pages. It appears to be throwing an 804: HTTPS (SSL) error and then terminating the crawl.
Now, the page in question was serving up mixed content up until about 4 days ago, but has since been fixed. I read that we should wait at least 48 hours before initiating another crawl to avoid hitting a cached version - which I did, but it still appears to be having issues.
Is there anything specific I can do to get around this issue? I'm on a trial account and this feature is one I'm keen to test, so there is a bit of a time constraint.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Hi there!
Thanks for reaching out, and sorry for the trouble! I'm afraid there's not much you can do to your site to prevent this issue - it has to do with our crawler.Unfortunately at this time our crawler isn't compatible with Server Name Indication (SNI), which appears to be in use on your site. In general, SNI is a totally acceptable security configuration, but our crawler simply isn't equipped to be able to handle these settings.
The good news is that our team has been working hard on a new crawler that will support this configuration and this crawler is currently in its Beta phase. If you're interested in being a part of the beta testing, the link to the sign up page is here: http://goo.gl/forms/LCvL9Ix8JDHfbAvr1. Once you fill out that form, you will automatically be added into the Beta during the next round.
We will be rolling the new crawler out to all of our users once it's out of it's Beta phase, but I don't have an exact timeframe of when that will be at this time, as it's still being actively worked on.
In the meantime, I apologize for the inconvenience. If you have more questions or if there's anything else we can do to help, feel free to shoot us a note at help@moz.com and we'll do our best to sort things out for you.

In Moz Campaigns, how are competitor domains tracked if they redirect their site?
Hello! One of our competitors (Company A) that we've tracked in Moz for a long time recently merged with another company (Company B) and redirected their whole site to Company B's site. Will our competitor tracking still work as-is? Or do we need to make an adjustment? I'm reluctant to delete Company A from our competitor tracking, because we will lose all of that data. But if all of the keywords are slowly going to drop off as Google starts showing Company B results only, it may be the only option. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Limit MOZ crawl rate on Shopify or when you don't have access to robots.txt
Hello. I'm wondering if there is a way to control the crawl rate of MOZ on our site. It is hosted on Shopify which does not allow any kind of control over the robots.txt file to add a rule like this: User-Agent: rogerbot Crawl-Delay: 5 Due to this, we get a lot of 430 error codes -mainly on our products- and this certainly would prevent MOZ from getting the full picture of our shop. Can we rely on MOZ's data when critical pages are not being crawled due to 430 errors? Is there any alternative to fix this? Thanks

Is the Content Suggestions section under Page Optimization a TF-IDF Analysis?
If you start a campaign in Moz, go to page optimization, enter a URL and keyword, and go to the bottom where it says "Content Suggestions" is that basically do a TF-IDF analysis? I want to make sure I understand how that works. Thanks!

Keyword Count Incorrect In On Page Grader
Hi, I have found that on one site I am working on seems to have issues when i run it through the on page grader. The problem is that it is saying I am showing the main keyword 24 times in the body, but actually it is 12 times. Could there be a problem on the website that is showing something I cant see, or is this a known issue. Thanks

Duplicate page found with MOZ crawl test?
When I crawl my website www.radiantguard.com, the crawl test comes back with what appears to be a duplicate of my home page: http://www.radiantguard.com and http://www.radiantguard.com/ Does the crawler indeed see two different pages and therefore, are my search engine rankings potentially affected, AND is this because of how my rel canonical is set up?
