Is it necessary to use Google's Structured Data Markup or alternative for my B2B site?
-
Hi,
We are in the process of going through a re-design for our site. Am trying to understand if we need to use some sort of structured data either from Google Structured data or schema. org?
-
I concur with Matthew and Travis.
At a minimum, every single business site can benefit from:
1. indicating to both bots and users at least what is your industry niche via schema.
2. adding the schema for reviews to gain gold stars in SERPs.

Thank you Matthew and Travis. Appreciate your guidance on this. Shall read up and dig more into this.

Hi Kelly,
If the content of your website supports the use of structured data, it would definitely be in your best interest to use it.
A great introduction to structured data can be found here: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/guides/intro-structured-data
On the left hand menu of that page, click on "Feature Guides" and you can see examples of different content types and how structured data can be used to enhance your visibility in the SERPs. Each content type will also give you some example code of his this can be implemented.
Hope this helps!

Schema (structured data) is supported by all major search engines in the Western hemisphere, and a two or three search engines elsewhere. The search engines, Google in particular, may use this structured markup to display various things about your business in search engine result pages. While it's not known to me as a ranking factor, it seems it would be advantageous to tell search engines everything about the business in a language they can easily understand.
Without knowing more about the case, I can't say in a 'yay or nay' sense whether it may be worth the effort. If someone in your ranks understands or can learn Schema markup, go for it, you have nothing to lose. Though there's no guarantee applying the markup will result in a unique snippet for any given query.
Ultimately, it seems prudent to do so. Though it may take a little time to figure out what markup you'll need.

I need help on how best to do a complicated site migration. Replacing certain pages with all new content and tools, and keeping the same URL's. The rest just need to disappear safely. Somehow.
I'm completely rebranding a website but keeping the same domain. All content will be replaced and it will use a different theme and mostly new plugins. I've been building the new site as a different site in Dev mode on WPEngine. This means it currently has a made-up domain that needs to replace the current site. I know I need to somehow redirect the content from the old version of the site. But I'm never going to use that content again. (I could transfer it to be a Dev site for the current domain and automatically replace it with the click of a button - just as another option.) What's the best way to replace blahblah.com with a completely new blahblah.com if I'm not using any of the old content? There are only about 4 URL'st, such as blahblah.com/contact hat will remain the same - with all content replaced. There are about 100 URL's that will no longer be in use or have any part of them ever used again. Can this be done safely?

Does location of my VPS and IP adress matter to Google's ranking?
We're busy with adding a German version of our webshop. Right now we're quit successful in The Netherlands with our webshop and SEO. I wonder if Google minds the location of the website (VPS) and IP address concerning SEO for our German webshop. If I Google on this subject I can not find a clear answer. Can somebody help me?

Blacklisted website no longer blacklisted, but will not appear on Google's search engine.
We have a client who before us, had a website that was blacklisted by Google. After we created their new website, we submitted an appeal through Google's Webmaster Tools, and it was approved. One year later, they are still unable to rank for anything on Google. The keyword we are attempting to rank for on their home page is "Day in the Life Legal Videos" which shouldn't be too difficult to rank for after a year. But their website cannot be found. What else can we do to repair this previously blacklisted website after we're already been approved by Google? After doing a link audit, we found only one link with a spam score of 7, but I highly doubt that is what is causing this website to no longer appear on Google. Here is the website in question: https://www.verdictvideos.com/

Getting out of Google's Penguin
Hi all, my site www.uniggardin.dk has lost major rankings on the searchengine google.dk. Went from rank #2-3 on important keywords to my site, and after the latest update most of my rankings have jumped to #12 - #20. This is so annoying, and I really have no idea what to do. Can it cause bad links to my site? In that case what will I have to do? Thanks in advance,

Most efficient way to change site structure?
I would like to change my sites structure to be more efficient for SEO. I have a fear that the changes will have a potential impact on my current rankings, but know this would be a good long term decision. My site is wordpress, so the changes are relatively easy to make. What are some ways to change the site structure without damaging your rank? I would have to have to clean up a bunch of errors, so is the best way to simply do 301 redirects on the old pages?
