Foursquare syncing on Moz Local
-
I searched the boards here and I couldn't find a question about one of my most persistent issues with Moz Local. As an SEO at a small agency, I'm typically managing between 5-6 different Moz Local campaigns from one dashboard. I have found the Foursquare syncing process to be extremely troublesome. Has anyone cracked it? I was only able to get 1 of my 5 current campaigns to sync. And I did it a while ago so I've forgotten how I did it.
Here's how the process has been going for me. This is going to be lengthy (sorry) but I want you all to have all the deets.
I see an alert in the Foursquare sync box on my left hand menu. I click it. It takes me to this page: https://moz.com/local/bulk/managed/oauth/foursquare. I see a message that reads "4 Listings need access to Foursquare". I click the button in this message that says "+ Foursquare account". I add a personal Foursquare account because apparently you need a pesonal account before you can set up a business account (a la Facebook?).
I successfully go through steps to add a Foursquare account. If I click the little gear in the "4 Listings need access to Foursquare" box it shows that I have 3 connected Foursquare accounts. But this appears to be as far as I can go. What's next?
Above the "4 Listings need access to Foursquare" box there's another box that says "2 Foursquare account have no matching listings." This box isn't clickable. There appears to be no next step here. I'm super frustrated by this user experience.
Am I supposed to creating Foursquare Accounts with the business name some how?

David's solution seems to be working for me. See his answer below. Hope it helps you too.

So far it looks like it worked, David. Thanks for the input.

Hello again, Lure Creative. Thanks for answering yet another of my questions. I would really like Moz to weigh in on this though. How about you? : )

Hi Paul
After connecting accounts, you will need click on the "Claim" button next to the listings, then choose one of the connected accounts in the list.
Let me know if this helps

We have run into the same issue in the past. We found that if you just have a basic free FourSquare account, you can go in and manually add a business and Foursquare seems to publish it immediately (https://foursquare.com/add-place). This is annoying and not as easy as just using Moz Local, but it is a way to get your client's FourSquare profile and NAP shored up. I would love if Moz was able to fix this also.

Employees using the Dealership's address and popping up as duplicates in Moz Local?
We are using Moz Local and have a client who's salespeople create individual Facebook Pages for themselves and use the storefront's address. They are noted as duplicates. How much does this really hurt local SEO?

Setting up Moz Account for a franchise with no physical locations
OK, so technically we are not a franchise, but our structure is very similar, in that we have numerous areas or cities, within which there are numerous locations (all with separate landing pages). We need to closely track the performance of each area/city as a whole (like you would a franchise), and the individual locations within it. We have a home based office in each main area/city, though not for the purposes of meeting customers etc. We have www.domain.com/area-1/location-A, www.domain.com/area-1/location-B and then www.domain.com/area-2/location-A, www.domain.com/area-2/location-B etc etc. This means that we have a relatively small handful of keywords which are relevant to any location, apart from the addition of the location or city name, like "house cleaners in [location], home cleaning services in [location]. So, do I set up my campaigns as domain.com/Newcastle, domain.com/Manchester etc, have say 10 keywords based around house cleaning, and then add all the local areas within that area/campaign? If so, should I add my keywords - things like "house cleaners" "home cleaning" "domestic cleaning companies" etc. to a campaign for /Newcastle, then add locations within Newcastle such as Gosforth, Jesmond, Heaton etc? Will this then allow us to track our rankings for "house cleaners in {Gosforth, Jesmond, Heaton etc}", "home cleaning in {Gosforth, Jesmond, Heaton etc}, "domestic cleaning companies in {Gosforth, Jesmond, Heaton etc}? Any help, general, specific is much appreciated! Many thanks Edward

MOZ Local not picking up citations
Hello - We like using the MOZ dashboard as an indicator of SEO health but have run into an instance where we have two citations with the correct NAP that are not being picked up in the MOZ report. The City Search and InsiderPages listings were build through YEXT and have been up for two months. Is there a way to report a match to MOZ?

Submitted listings for Removal via MOZ local 7 months - still showing 'Request Submitted'
I manage multiple health care practices and have them submitted to MOZ Local. The main reason for this is to clean up and remove listings with inconsistent business names, addresses and phone numbers on aggregators such as InfoUSA and Localeze. I felt MOZ Local would be something that could save time and money for myself and clients so I wouldn't have to do the phone verification game for sites such as InfoUSA and localeze. In some cases I submitted for removal aggregator listings 7-8 months ago but they are still showing the same 'Request Submitted'. What is the standard time I can expect these requests to go through. I sort of feel duped believing that MOZ would remove duplicate/incorrect listings somewhat quickly. If anyone else has a similar experience or a timeframe of removal for sites MOZ works with that would be great.

On Moz Local, localeze says "this listing is already managed by someone else"
Hey Mozzers, For my Moz local listings, there is a yellow exclamation mark on localeze and it says "this listing is already managed by someone else". My company previously had a listing with localeze, but we closed it early this year. How can I remove localeze's control of our account? How can I make sure Localeze is feeding all the appropriate sites with the correct information? thanks, Evan Jerkunica

Is the Google Local Descriptor compatible with MOZ Local?
If I'm understanding Google correctly, we can use a single descriptor as part of a business name, and to do so, you use the following format in the business name field: Business Name - Descriptor Is this correct? If so, is it not compatible with MOZ Local? I used the format above, and MOZ seems to see the descriptor as part of the business name, and won't let me verify. Is the best approach to using a descriptor to get verified first, then add it? Or will that mess other things up?

Moz Local Submissions
Hello, I am looking into transferring listings from Nuestar Localeze to Moz Local. Would it be best to set all of my Localeze listings to not renew or does Moz Local claim active listings from these sites for you?
