In Real Time Page Views Showing Down But Users Not Affected what is happening actually?
-
Hi All,
For my ecoommerce site we constantly keep eye on real time analytic many time we see page views suddenly goes down for 1 min only then again started growing but visitors in "Right Now" section not affected.
Network team, developer team, DBA team, seo team no one able to find bug from there end. Neither google shows any website down, server error or 404 etc in search console.
So what is exactly happening when pageviews go down? Do really visitor affected If no then also why and if yes then also why?
Please help.
Thanks!

Hi Amu,
Page views can fluctuate. This is can be attributed to user psychology. Maybe if page views drop the user have found what they are looking for without digging deeper into your site. This is a good thing. The most important aspect of a website is user experience. However this can also be opposite, page views can drop if they find your site too complicated to use.
Other reasons,
Wrong target audience for ads or content, spam bots inflating views for particular pages but not digging through site. 404 errors, pages have access blocked and so on.
Thanks,

Referrals - How is it possible I have 5 new users and 100 sessions over a 2 week period?
I have a referral from an email (2), android search(1) and another website(2) but my sessions is 100 over a two week period? I have NO returning visitors (still session data though?) Seems unlikely that just these 5 users have generated 100 sessions!! Any ideas?

Conversion Rate Higher Than Landing Page Visits?
Interesting to see in Google Analytics that the conversion rate is higher than landing page visits - could it be attributed to a visitor clicking the CTA button multiple times? Or perhaps there is duplicate GA code on the conversion page since we utilize both Google Analytics and HubSpot. (see attached funnel screenshot) Screen-Shot-2014-09-26-at-10.49.09-AM.png

Deleted Rarely Visited Pages - Traffic Dropped (Big Time)
Hi folks: I'd appreciate any thoughts you might have on a problem I am having with organic traffic. One of our sites has about 500 pages/blog posts. We had about 200 pages that no one was visiting, or only one to ten people had visited in an entire year. As a result, we decided to experiment, and delete any page which had fewer than 5 visits in a year. This resulted in a deletion of about 90 pages. We did this on April 6 or 7 of this year. Two days later, we had a substantial drop in visits to the site. We had been getting about 300 sessions a day. Now, we are lucky to get that in a month. I know there was an algorithm update in late March, but our traffic dropped about two weeks after that, and a day or so after the deletion of the pages. There is a clear demarcation on analytics. I gave it a month, the traffic did not recover, so we decided to restore the pages. Traffic has not recovered and it has been about 3 months now. Does anyone have any thoughts on why we might have experienced such a drastic drop as well as what we might do to recover from it? Thanks very much

Is it possible to use Google Tag Manager to pass a user’s text input into a form field to Google analytics?
Hey Everyone, I finally figured out how to use auto event tracking with Google Tag Manager, but didn't get the data I wanted. I want to see what users are typing into the search field on my site (the URL structure of my site isn't set up properly to use GA's built-in site search tracking). So, I set up the form submit event tracking in Google Tag Manager and used the following as my event tracking parameters: Category: Search Action: Search Value When I test and look in Google Analytics I just see: "search" and "search value." I wanted to see the text that I searched on my site. Not just the Action and Category of the event.... Is what I'm trying to do even possible? Do I need to set up a different event tracking parameter? Thanks everyone!

Landing page URL appearing as keyword
Hi Mozers, I've recently experienced the URLs of my key landing pages coming up as keywords. This has been on the rise since early July (when it was relatively insignificant) to the current position (see image below) where they make up the majority of my top keywords. Drilling down into a bit more detail, this seems to be almost exclusively Desktop traffic but in terms of Technology there are no clear standouts (seems to be mostly Windows OS and Chrome). Has anyone else been experiencing this?

If I install google Analytics, that can affect my SEO.?
I purchased a site that has a lot of Backlinks and when I started to make changes like installing google analytics! i suspect the performance in search engine was getting worst because of that, so I removed.

Now I'm trying MOZ and needs GA, should I install it again??
Maybe it analyces the backlinks and tells google, I don't know, is that possible?0 -
Googlebot Visit Time & Date Stamps
I know that in Google Webmaster Central, we can see general Googlebot crawl stats based on dates. Our site is crawled daily. We're trying to find out the time of day Googlebot visits our site - know of any ways to do this or tools out there?
