Redirect issue

http://www.themorrisagency.co.uk/wedding-band redirects to http://www.themorrisagency.co.uk/wedding-band-cost-much-hire/
NO canonical in place. Nothing in Htaccess. I cant think where else to look to find it.
If I amend it to http://www.themorrisagency.co.uk/we it still redirects.
Any ideas? I have spent way too long on it now

Hello!
Were you able to fix it? To sum up the other answers, this could be a few things:
-
a redirect in your .htaccess file
-
a redirect in a plugin (yoast, or a separate redirects plugin - some plugins even create redirects automatically)
-
or autogenerated by your theme/wordpress
I would work in that order looking for it,

Thank you

It is definitely a Wordpress issue. Take a look at your functions.php file for your theme. You can add some code to turn off this feature.
If you have this feature on, which it usually is by default, it will redirect to the closest matching URL. Like so:
https://www.example.com/contact
will redirect to
https://www.example.com/contact-us (the actual page URL)
remove_filter('template_redirect', 'redirect_canonical'); is the code you need to add to the functions.php. But make sure you read up on it before disabling it, as it does have some benefits.

This is built-in functionality in Wordpress, matching closest existing URL.

Should I redirect a popular but irrelevant blog post to the home page?
Hi. I'm trying to get my website; www.ciphr.com , to rank for keywords relevant to "HR Software" in the UK. It's a highly competitive industry and we rank ~mid to low on page one for some of our ideal keywords that are highly relevant and high volume. Years ago we took the decision to blog about topics more loosely related to the world of work. One of our blog posts, about plants in the office https://www.ciphr.com/advice/plants-in-the-office/ is popular. It gets decent traffic and consistently builds backlinks to the post without any further effort on our part. The specific page has a PA of 46 and DA of 55 with >500 domains linking to it. This compares to our home page with a PA of 47 and 700 linking domains. It is typically the home page that ranks for our money keywords "HR Software" "HR Systems" in the UK. Because this blog post is so loosely related to our actual business, the traffic it generates is highly unlikely to turn into a customer of ours. I am considering redirecting the blog post to the home page to pass link juice to the home page. The concern I have is that, based on the anchor text and contextual signals from linking pages, Google might then infer that our home page is less relevant for our money keywords and more relevant for "plants". Are my concerns unfounded? What are your thoughts? Should I redirect the blog post to the home page? Another internal page? Keep the blog post live? Thanks

Update old article or publish new content and redirect old post?
Hi all, I'm targetting a keyword and we used to rank quite good for it. Last couple of months traffic of that keyword (and variations) is going down a bit. I wrote an extensive new post on the same topic, much more in dept and from 600 to 1800 words covering the same topic. Is it better to update the old article and mention that it's updated recently, or publish a new post and redirect the old post to the new post?

Keyword Stuffing Issues
Hi Folks, At this URL https://purplegriffon.com/courses/project-management/prince2 as an example, you can see that I am outputting all course dates in a table. Each table row contains information regarding the specific course such as start date, duration, location but also course title. In the course title it will obviously contain the keyword, in this example that is 'prince2'. So my question is this. As the MOZ on-page grader indicates that I am keyword stuffing (even though I receive an A grade) will Google be clever enough to know that I am displaying a table of events for PRINCE2? Or will it class the page as containing too many keywords? Each event links to a specific event page for that event, so is unique. I am interested in hearing the thoughts of the community on this. Thanks. Regards Gareth

302 redirections warnings
Hi there, the SEOMOZ crawler has detected some warinings related to the 302 temporary redirections. Example: http://www.tarifakitesurfcamp.com/tks-camp/alojamiento/ redirects to www.tarifakeitesurfcamp.com/error-404 I have made some 301 redirections, located at the end of the final (inicially) and later I just moved them to the top of the file. The htaccess file content is: redirect 301 http://www.tarifakitesurfcamp.com/tks-camp/escuela/ http://www.tarifakitesurfcamp.com/gisela-pulido-escuela/

Redirect
Some time ago I have created a category which I have deleted later. Now seomoz is showing me that its not found, obviously...what would be the best practice to redirect this category to a page? I know that with 301, but how, can I do it when I deleted that category:-(

Redirecting to a keyword-rich domain URL
It's best practice to choose a domain that has keyword in it. But if someone has just launched a website and the domain name does not have keyword, is it better to purchase a new domain name that has a keyword in the name and redirect existing domain to the new domain? Will that help SEO? (This just launched website does not have any traffic or links yet.)
