Google My Business - What is the best way to remove "Duplicate Address"? Help!
-
Google can be such a pain with managing listings - especially when you are an agency managing a client's listing! I am hoping someone can help with this...
How do I permanently delete a “duplicate address?”
In the Google My Business dashboard (classic view), under account summary – I click duplicate locations. From here, I can easily remove a duplicate location - that is not the issue.
The issue is for duplicate addresses. For this, we only have the option to resolve address, which directs you to the business’ location details.
Our options are then to:
1. Change the business NAP
2. Permanently close location
3. Remove the listing from your dashboard (removing it from dashboard doesn’t delete it from Google).
We edited the business’ name, phone number, address and website – to try and make it a duplicate location, because if we are able to make it a duplicate location then we know we will have the option to **Remove Duplicate. **Nothing has changed though.
We don't want to mark this as a permanently closed location because if somebody does come across the listing down the road it is going to be misleading. The business is not actually closed!
Any insight would be very much appreciated.
Thank you!

What a kind offer, Ben. Hopefully, if Bcallegary hasn't already taken steps on this step on their own, they will see your post here with such a nice offer to help.

If you visit en.advertisercommunitiy.com and tag me, I may be able to assist you.
I will need the name address and phone number of the listing along with a link to the live listing and the same for the duplicate (follow Joy's guide)
More than likely, removing the duplicate is going to solve the issue unless the wrong listing is the one showing in search.
In that case, removing the listing you want merged will be the way to go, which Twitter support can help with or I can escalate.

Hi there!
I would recommend contacting the GMB support team via Twitter - they are highly responsive and fix things very quickly
Hope this helps!
Cheers,

Hello There!
I believe what you are referencing is the red "Duplicate Address" label in the Status column under Locations in your GMB dashboard. Google uses this label if there are two listings at the same address, and I know, it's frustrating!
I highly recommend reading this recent tutorial by Joy Hawkins on this topic: https://www.sterlingsky.ca/resolve-duplicate-addresses-google-business/
I think you'll find it's just what the doctor ordered!

Should I "no follow" some of my references to suppliers on my contact page?
We have a new website where we are selling a gate brace and the contact page has a number of links to possible suppliers. 3 of the 4 have our product locally. There are also 2 image links that go to trade shows we have been at. Should I "no follow" these links? Or is it not a big deal? Brad

How do I rank inside the knowledge panel in the "people also search for" section?
Hello fellow Mozzers, In Google's knowledge panel there is a section at the bottom that says "people also search for" and a list of competitors is displayed. I'm hoping to get some information I can use to get my client listed there on top of the local organic results. The more SERP presence, the better. Attached image should provide clarity to those who are confused. I suspect I know the answer to this question, but since I can't find a source to verify my beliefs, I'm crowdsourcing. Thanks in advance! NhoihY1

Local Search and Schema.org - Do I need to tag up the "same as" Property to all my citations to help with local rankings?
Hi All, We have implemented Schema.og on our website and this also includes the local business schema for all of our branches. However I've read an article (see below ) which says we should also be doing "same as " property and linking this to ALL of our citations such as google plus page , yelp , bing places, city search etc etc as this will help with citations. I am wondering if anyone has done this ? - And if so , has this helped with local rankings etc - I don't really want to invest the extra costs to get this done if I can't find anywhere that says its made a difference - The article from whitespark - says - "when you create new citations for your business (or for your client’s), it’s a waiting game hoping that Google and the other search engines will find your new citations quickly and make the connection between those listings, the business, and the website. The “sameAs” property can help make that process much quicker _and _easier. Schema.org explains that the “sameAs” property is used along with the “URL of a reference Web page that unambiguously indicates the item's [or business’] identity.” By using the “sameAs” property in your NAP schema markup, you can tell search engines that the business you’ve marked up is the same one found at a certain citation URL Of course, Google+ isn’t the only important citation source. There’s also Bing Places, Facebook, Yelp, Citysearch and a few others. The nice thing about many schema.org properties is that you can use them multiple times in your markup." I am wondering what peoples thoughts were and whether they has implemented this and if so , did it help ? thanks Pete | [sameAs](http://schema.org/sameAs) | URL | URL of a reference Web page that unambiguously indicates the item's identity. Opt out from certain Google properties - what's the downside?
Hi Moz Community! I manage a site where we want to have a support phone number for certain cases, but not for it to be front and centre for all our customers. At the moment, most of our unwanted call volume comes through the number showing up in SERPs due. We haven't included it in any of our listings, but it seems that Google has included it due to its presence on our site. We are now considering using the "Opt out from certain Google properties" tool on Google Webmasters but are concerned that by not playing by Google's rules that we may face some sort of penalty. https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/opt-out Does anyone have any experience of using this tool or any thoughts on potential risks to our search rankings? Thank you!

Help with Google Places, local listings & Google+ please!
Hi all, I work for enterprise app development & mobile consultancy, Mubaloo. I recently asked a question around getting better rankings for London-based search results. One answer was to set up a local listing for Mubaloo's London office. I thought I had done by setting up our London office up on Places for Business - is this the same as a local listing? In addition to this, I can't connect our existing Google+ page to our local Mubaloo Bristol & London listings as Google has created separate pages for each! Is anyone else having this issue? Can it be resolved?

NAPtastic: Google updated G+ page to "correct" street spelling, but not Maps
A client's G+ page updated from "Jimmy" to "Jimmie" Rd. The change is technically correct according to the legal county road name, though the Places, G+, and indeed even the printed inscription on the Google map itself all say "Jimmy." So, too, does virtually all of the NAP instances around the web. Question - should we update Business Registration Managers with the updated address info and assume the Google change will also eventually filter to other Google assets, or make no changes? Weird, right? Here's the Place: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Georgia+Square+Collision/@33.9357517,-83.4885575,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x57927ad08d139333 Thanks!
