What should be the step after building links?
-
Hello,
I regularly build links and save them in excel file. But I don't know what should I do after building them? Should I ping them? Share on social media or leave until they are not indexed?
thanks
-
It's not necessary to ping the links often, but I put a reminder and revise them from time to time.Of course, key information and global SEO changes mentioned in guest posts need to be updated.
-
As usual your response are well contented. Thank you. I will look into these.

Thank you Chris,
Links are coming from guest posts, business listings and general links like videos.

Improve the article. Keep it up-to-date.
Be on the look-out for additional information that will enable improvement. Read topic-area blogs and news about your product lines. Search periodically to stay up-to-date.
Attend professional meetings and obtain additional training in the general topic areas of your website.
Most people look for SEO information to improve their website, but the real gold is in the industries and topic areas of your products or the subjects that you write about.

Hi Kate,
I never ping the links I build, i don't see it worth. If they are shared in social media it's much better, specially if they are shared by many people.
As you do, I would just save them on an excel file taking note about the date it began to be online in the web, the anchor text, if it's follow or nofollow and the type of web where is it. This list can serve you to build links moderately and irregularly in time to seem more natural,to control if some links or webs disappear, to build links of the type of link or anchor you need more (exact anchor, phrase anchor...). Here you have a good article about the anchor text: https://ahrefs.com/blog/anchor-text/
You can also use this list to do second-tier link building, pointing with these new links (tier 2) to the first links you created. I leave you here an article from Julie Joyce about this:
https://searchengineland.com/importance-second-tier-links-242941
Good luck!

You just sit back and let the money pile up!
Just kidding... There are plenty of applications out there that will ping your backlinks regularly if you want but there's not really that much to do once a link is established other than maybe maintaining a relationship with the webmaster/owner of the sites that linked to you. From the way you ask the question however, it makes me kinda wonder about their quality. What kind of sites are you getting links from?

Link Building Question
Hello, Here is my situation - i'm number 10 for a moderate keyword and i want to rank higher . Using the Open Site Explorer i studied the links of 12 competitors and noticed the following : There are only 2 sites that are doing 100% white hat - one of them is on first page only because has a big,big domain autority, the other because is a brand name. The rest of my competitors are on first page using directory submissions (i discovered 200+ directories - and not counting those that are not indexed.), buying links (for ex check these 2 :http://www.dentistsburbank.com/links , http://www.dentistinaustin.com/links/ - there are 50+ more sites like this), spam forums and article submissions. For my site i tried to get only quality links, tried link bait, quality articles - etc(and this for more that 18 months). Unfortunately it seems that my efforts are not enough(seems that links from military.com are not enough to beat 200 low quality directories) and i want to ask the community what should i do. Shall i invest in directory submissions (it will cost around $1500) ? If not in directories in what shall i invest the money ? Are there any companies able to create successful link baits ? Shall i report the paid links hoping that Google will take action ? Any other ideas 🙂
