I have a client who wants to have their own Moz login. I want to move them out on to a new plan from the Standard (5 campaigns) plan. Can I do this?
-
For years I've been managing campaigns in Moz through Moz Pro. This enables up to 5 campaigns.
One of my clients wants access to their campaign and are happy to pay for a new Moz Standard account just for them. My question is - can this be done?
They would like my company (or more specifically me) to still have admin access to the account. I'm confused as to whether multi-seat is the right way to go?
I don't want my client to login to my current Moz Pro account as I have other client's campaigns on it.
Can anyone help as to the best approach.
-
It is highly unprofessional that we can't find a way for clients to be able to manage their own campaign and not see our others, on our account. Surely there is a way by now?
-
Have there been any updates to this in the past 2 years? This, in my opinion, is one of Moz' biggest weaknesses and makes sharing with clients impossible for those working in agencies. We also utilize freelance resources for some of our SEO and SEM tasks and need to be able to limit their access to certain Campaigns.
-
Okay. So I understand your answer. I don't really like it and would like to request that you think about agency access and how we can incubate client campaigns.
The thing is that most clients start off tentatively with Moz. They need a 'dip in the pool' approach as it were. They need hand-holding from their agency until they've got confidence and that means one on one sessions. This is not meant as patronising in any way at all to a client, the first tour through the campaign is overwhelming.
However once they've got understanding, the nature of the relationship changes. There comes a point that an agency packaging up reports to pass on to the client is pointless. They want access to the UI themselves. This is where being able to turn a campaign on an agency account into a campaign just for a client account would be helpful.
As agencies often work with multi campaigns in their accounts this is where the problem is. How do you train up a client, nurture them and then give them their own access if you can't transfer the data to a new campaign and client account?
It seems to me that you're missing a big use case scenario here. And you should be working with agencies on a closer level as we are often the incubators and stepping stones to ultimately get solo client accounts and campaigns.

I completely understand your frustration! From a support point of view I have received many requests for something like this and our team are certainly aware of the demand. However, I do not have a timeframe for when / if something like this is in development.
With regards to your first question, if your team has been added as a 'seat' on your clients account they should be able to view your clients Campaigns.
Shared users will have full access to Campaigns and tools within the Moz Pro account. However, the owner (your client in this scenario) gets sole access to do the following:
- Delete Campaigns
- Add or remove users
- Upgrade, downgrade, or cancel the subscription
- View or update account billing, invoicing and subscription information
If you have any specific questions about accounts feel free to reach out to help@moz.com

Hi Eli
This problem is a real weakness for Moz and agencies and consultants have been asking for years for Moz to fix this. Is this on the Moz Roadmap yet?
I have set up a client with their own account and they have given me access to it via my "agency" account - so that I can see it in my agency Moz account. Now I need to give my team members access to the Client's Moz account so they can set up some new campaigns. I've asked the Client to add them as users to their account but my team members can't see the Client's account in their "agency" account. They just see an account with their own name asking for them to subscribe. Is there a fix for this?
The fix you proposed above for David Patrick is not a fix for "agencies" - we can't have client's being able to see other client's campaigns. If this is not on the roadmap for Moz - we are going to have to stop using Moz unfortunately as it's okay for sole consultants but not for clients. Client's are looking to be able to see a dashboard now and using Moz we can't give them access to it.
It's such a shame because I'm a big fan of Moz and have in the past been a big advocate but I'm having to look at other software because of this issue. We don't have enough scalability whilst using Moz. Can you please bring this to the attention of the Moz management team.

Hey David,
Unfortunately this is not possible - I'm afraid we don't currently have a way to limit the access of seats on your account to certain Campaigns. Your client will have full access to all the Campaigns and research tools within your Moz Pro subscription. However, if your client wants to have notifications for a particular Campaign, they can unfollow the other Campaigns in the "Manage Campaigns" section. https://analytics.moz.com/pro/manage-campaigns You can read more about seat permissions and watch a short video in our Help Hub.
Also due to the way the data for each Campaign is stored in our system, there is too much risk of losing not only the data for the Campaign being transferred, but also to other Campaigns stored in the same database, therefore you would not even be able to transfer the Campaign to your clients new subscription (if they were to take one out) so ultimately I believe the best solution would be to give your client 'seat' access but they would still be able to see other Campaigns
Let me know if you have any other questions!

Unsolved Looking for Moz Academy invoices
Hello, in December 2023, I purchased courses at the Moz Academy. To get my administration in order, I would like to have the invoices for these. Unfortunately, I can't find them anywhere. Would anyone know where I should look? The invoices from the Moz Academy are not among the invoices for the Moz subscription.

Is there still a way to put in a support ticket with Moz. I cannot find it on the site.
I sent an email a few minutes ago to support@moz.com but don't know if that is a usable address or not. I would prefer an answer from a Moz staffer. Thanks,

Moz usability
Why is it such a hassle to access Moz campaigns from the frontpage of Moz? How can MOZ be so awesome and at the same time be so annoying? Does Moz have UX designer working with them?

On Page Optimization and Page Grader in Moz Needs Some Fixes
Okay, so I've brought this up a couple times to your team and have always been met with resistance and confusion, but I really feel like the fundamental design of your on page grader (the auto one) needs some changes in order to be really useful. Let's start with the basics. An on page grader is supposed to be a tool where you can enter your keyword or keywords and have it scan the URL to see how well the keyword has been implemented on the page. It checks for heading use, anchor text, alt tags, frequency of use, etc. We all should get this if we are here. Now, your manual page grader does just that and does a great job of it. I find it very useful for checking newly created pages, landing pages, competitor pages and the like. However, your auto version found in the Search > On-Page Optimizations is the culprit here. So, according to several staff at Moz, this tool scans your site every week when the rest of your site scan is done. It then takes the rankings of pages for ranked and tracked keywords and assigns a grade for that page. Here's the major problem.... in almost all of my accounts, it very rarely gets the association with keyword and URL correct. Thus, it returns a low page grade even though the grade of the URL would be an A or B for the correct keyword. What seems to be happening is I'm tracking multiple keywords, sometime close variations. This grade tool in a lot of cases is grading a page more than once for several keywords it's ranking for. All the variants it gets a low grade for because the exact keywords isn't in the title, headings, etc. The second thing that seems to be happening is some pages are not being graded using the primary keyword, but instead a variation. In this case it only shows low grades for the page. On one occurrence of trying to discuss this issue with you, I got scoffed at for saying the tool was "guessing at which keyword to use for the grade". Your staff was very adamant in saying "it's not a guess!" My counter point was, call it what you want, it's in accurate to the intended keyword to be optimized for. Now, when one first gets to this tool, all of the above doesn't seem like that big of a deal because there's an "add & manage page grade" section. This section allows you to add and manage page grades. So, one would think that you could go to this tool, add an page grades for keywords that the tool didn't automatically associate and delete ones that it added with an incorrect association and that would be the end of it. However, that's NOT quite the end of it. At your own admission, the tool doesn't function like that. Each week when a new scan is completed, these pages grades essentially reset. So any page grade that you deleted will simply show right back up again. Now, before I go any further, let me explain why this is such an issue for me. First, on page optimization is something my company does and sells as a service and we are pretty good at it. Not saying we're the best, but we're better than most. That said, one of my reasons for choosing Moz was because according to the verbiage on the pages, one can create branded reports to include on page optimization. However, when the tool doesn't get the right keyword to landing page AND there's no way to manually override it, then basically all of my reports make it look like my pages grades suck, when in face they don't. Now, if in my campaigns I only added the exact keyword for each page and didn't do any variations of, then this tools becomes much more accurate. However, I want to track multiple variations. Bottom line is this: I need a page grading and reporting tool I can count on and actually use. Thus far, you solution is riddled with problems and every time I bring it up, you fight me on it saying it's working as it's supposed to. What I'm saying here is "as it's supposed to" is fundamentally wrong. I'd like to discuss this with someone at this point, and preferably someone a bit higher up than a first tier support person because frankly, I'm not getting anywhere. Overall I love your service, but it's things like this that have me questioning wether or not Moz is right. I'm giving you opportunity after opportunity to prove to me that it is. Help me work this out so we can continue that trend. Thanks, Micha

How can I retrieve an old account that isn't in the archive?
I had a few highly detailed MOZ campaigns over a year ago. We stopped paying and now that we've logged back in to the same account, there's not even anything in the archive. Is there any way to retrieve the old campaigns associated with this account?

I'm tired of logging in to MOZ
I like this site, I really do, which is why I visit multiple times a day. But I grow weary of these premium sites that require me to log in multiple times a day. This morning I was simultaneously working at ordercup.com, strengthcoach.com, and moz.com, and all three log me out at every turn. Argh!!! What's worse is that some MOZ pages think I'm logged in and others don't. I don't fully understand the logic behind the curtain, so I wander from page to page trying to get the login in sync. Why can't these sites work like lynda.com where I can stay logged in for days and weeks? To top it off, LastPass rolled out a new release that broke auto-login. All this logging in is getting in the way of me getting anything done.

Is anyone else seeing that their keyword rankings are pending even though they've been in the campaign for quite some time? Is this a known issue?
