Moz local "add one of your own photos"
-
I am new to Moz Local, and I am working to update my business listing. I felt lost when there was a section asking for photos, but instead of uploading them, they are a URL. I do not understand how to add these photos. Can someone help?

Hi there - Sam from Moz's Help Team here!
I'm sorry to hear you've had some difficulty adding photos to your listing. The photos the tool can accept have to be hosted somewhere other than Moz, and the URL has to be publicly accessible.
If you try to use a photo from a Facebook or Google Photo album, for example, you might encounter complications because those images are often protected behind your login. It's generally a good sign when a photo URL ends with a image file suffix, such as '.png' or '.jpg'.
For example, you can use a free photo-hosting site, such as this one. You can upload your image here and then get the full URL and then that's the URL you'd post into Moz Local. Here's a short video demonstrating uploading a photo on this site and getting the full URL.
Something else to note is that photo URLs cannot be too long because there is a character limit to each field. Try to make sure the photo URLs you use are publicly accessible and not too long, and you should be good to go!

Unsolved can I set up a white-labeled version of Moz local
I am wondering if Moz Pro account users have the option to set up a white-labeled version of the Moz Local Listings Checker? And if so, how? It would be an excellent tool to entice customers to sign up for our services.

Moz local & Rich Data in bi-lingual markets
Hi, any of you have any experience with Moz local in bi-lingual markets? In Quebec, we deal with predominantly French marketplace with large pockets of English speaking communities. However, mostly all of the directories that Moz Local lists to are English. Some offer options to list rich-data in two languages but many don't. Here's the question, have nay of you use both languages when submitting using Moz local (or other similar services) successfully in that the directories that were only English still accepted your "other" languages? Thx.

We have a client moving office locations in a month. When should we submit new address in Moz Local to the data providers?
It's the fine line of don't submit too early, but don't submit too late. When is the right time to submit the new address. This client will be working at current address until Christmas Eve. The day after Christmas, they move into their brand new building and address.

We are using Moz Local and have a client who's salespeople create individual Facebook Pages for themselves and use the storefront's address. They are noted as duplicates. How much does this really hurt local SEO?

Closing Old Locations with Moz Local
I'm sure the answer is pretty simple, but how are we supposed to report an old location as closed in Moz Local? I'd like to mark an old address as closed in all of the major data providers. Of course, I can claim the new location, but I do I need to claim the old location and then somehow mark it closed? When I do a search with Moz, it gives me five results for a doctor who has a single location now (I'm not posting the actual name because I just don't want this forum to appear for searches for the doctor): <address>Dr. Doctor Name, DMD Verified

Local Search and Moz Local Question
I'm using Moz Local for a few clients right now with good results. Was talking to a friend about using it for one of her web clients and a new scenario came up. The client does waste management and has a dozen locations in/outside of a metro area. She's been "trying to get their listing on Google Maps" without luck. After some probing, it turns out their main address for operations is in the metro area they are targeting, but they don't have waste facilities there and wanted to prevent customers from coming there. They actually use a PO Box for their contact information on their website and make no mention of the main address. Looking to see if anyone agrees with my proposed solution: Claim Google My Business listing for the main address in the metro area they're trying to optimize for. Use Moz Local to clean up their main listing (after a quick check, it's a mess) for the operations address. Update website contact info to include the main operations address, and make specific mention of which other addresses customers should/shouldn't go to for dumping/picking up equipment. So, the recommendation would be one Moz Local account. I figure no need to do listing for all of their other locations since they're just waste facilities controlled by the main listing. Does this seem like a plan?
