Confusing mixture of cross-domain and multi-language - HREFLANG

Hi Mozzers,
I am working for an international client, in a highly regulated industry. As such, their international set-up is slightly confusing.
They currently operate websites across multiple countries (with ccTLDs), as well as a global .com. E.g:
domain. es
domain.com etc.
Additionally, they offer multiple languages across each of these domains, which often cross over. E.g:
domain.co.uk/en/, domain.co.uk/fr/, domain.co.uk/de/
domain.com/en/, domain.com/es/, domain.com/fr/, domain.com/de/
They are not currently using HREFLANG of any sort.
Using EN as an example, this results in 6 URLs showing the same content, albeit for different languages/locations:
Main URL
domain.co.uk/en/category-A/ hreflang="en-GB"
Multi-lingual variants from same domain...
domain.co.uk/fr/category-A/ hreflang="fr-GB"
domain.co.uk/de/category-A/ hreflang="de-GB"
Cross domain variants from other ccTLDs...
domain.es/en/category-A/ hreflang="en-ES"
domain.it/en/category-A/ hreflang="en-IT"
domain.com/en/category-A/ hreflang="en"
Can anyone cleverer than myself confirm that the above would be the most effective set-up for this scenario, with each URL referencing each other in this way?

Have you had any luck figuring this thing out? I have a similar scenario and I can't find any answers to that.

301 redirects cross domains
Hi Moz Community. We have a client that has Website A and Website B. Website A is going to be replaced by Website C, a new website and brand. Some products sold on Website A are going to be split out to Website B & C. i.e. Say Website A sells eight products - then four will go to Website B and four to Website C. OUR QUESTION Technically we know we can 301 redirect the Website A products to the relevant Website B & Website C products. 1. Given this convoluted structure, will there be any negative ramifications for SEO? and; 2. Which website would you redirect the homepage to, B or C?

Redirecting a Page from Domain A to Domain B
We have a page on Domain A, an established and well-ranking website, that would be more appropriate on Domain B, a site that we launched about two years ago. This page ranks well, pulls nice search traffic and has traffic from external links. We would like to move the page and its traffic from Domain A to Domain B using a 301 redirect. Have you ever done this or have you heard of how it has worked for someone else? Thanks!

Is my other domain making me not rank?
Hi there, We have a .co.uk website which was ranking well for a number of highly competitive keywords, however in February 2012 those rankings for those keywords suddenly dropped off Google all together and have never came back. A few possibilties to why this has happened: We launched a .ie website which has exactly the same content, could this be the reason for the drop? I have put in all the necessary steps in making sure Google ranks these geographically correct by using hreflang and making sure everything is setup properly in webmaster tools. Why I think it could be this: If I copy and paste the first few paragraphs of text from the pages in the .co.uk website that were ranked highly in Google.co.uk it's the .ie version that appears not the .co.uk version. Here is the webpages in question: http://www.avogel.co.uk/health/menopause/ http://www.avogel.ie/health/menopause/ Forgot to mention, the reason we have these two websites is due to different currency and legalities. Hope someone can help me out with this.

Multi domain redirect to single domain
Hello, all SEOers. Today, I would like to get some ideas about handling multiple domains. I have a client who bought numerous domains under purpose of prevent abuse of their brand name and at the same time for future uses. This client bought more than 100 domains. Some domains are paused, parked, lived and redirected to other site. I don't worry too much of parked domains and paused domains. However, what I am worrying is that there are about 40 different domains are now redirected to single domain and meta refresh was used for redirections. As far as I know, this can raise red flag for Google. I asked clients to clean up unnecessary domains, yet they want to keep them all. So now I have to figure out how to handle all domains which are redirect to single domain. So far, I came up with following ideas. 1. Build gateway page which shows lists of my client sites and redirect all domains to gateway page. 2. Implement robots.txt file to all different domains 3. Delete the redirects and leave it as parked domains. Could anyone can share other ideas in order to handling current status? Please people, share your ideas for me.

Is cross-linking websites bad? What is your experience?
Today, I was watching video about Is cross-linking websites bad? on Google Webmaster YouTube channel. I've big confusion on this subject because, I have made big changes on this factor. I have removed my website link from two websites. Both websites are top to link my website. But, I have removed it due to certain issue. I have hyperlink following page with Patio Umbrellas keyword. http://www.vistastores.com/patio-umbrellas I know that, I have to maintain my inbound link statistics and that's why I'm going to add my website link with Patio Umbrellas text link to my clients' websites. I have already added it to certain clients' websites and going to add in another clients' websites. You can review my link in footer. http://www.tikitorchbargains.com/ http://www.firepitbargains.com/ http://www.curtainrodbargains.com/ These websites have similar subject to my website. Now, websites' subject is totally different to my website where I will my text link in footer. After big explanation:: 🙂 I have one big question. Penalty for using expired domain?
I was wondering if anyone has any experience using dropped/expired domains with old "clean" backlinks for new sites. Is there be a penalty for doing this (with good intent)? Worth a reconsideration request?
