One Page desapeared from Google results over the weekend.
-
Has anyone had this happen? My page (just one page) is gone from the search results.
Not only did we lose our position in Google (we were #9) now the entire page is completely gone from Google index. However, It is on the first page of Bing and Yahoo. We did have our server down from Friday to Monday.
I went into Google webmaster tools on Monday and saw a big X next to sitemap. It said HTTP Error 404 detected on August 21, 2011. So Google went in on Sunday and came up with the error. But why only one page is missing and all the other pages still show up?
I was thinking that page was blacklisted by Google but when I went to Webmaster Tools to listen to "Requesting reconsideration of your site" video all they talk about is the "site" being blacklisted not a particular page.
Any one has any ideas?

we submitted XML sitemap yesterday..

The "notification" process for Google is to submit a site map. If you haven't done so already, submit an updated sitemap.
The only other thing that would help is building links to your missing page from authoritative sites.
I know you are frustrated and want this issue resolved immediately. This issue is why it is critical to have 99.99% server uptime, and for more money you can achieve 100% server uptime. Your site outage is the root issue. The missing page is merely a symptom.

thank you so much...our page is highly visited and aside from our main website is the second visited page.
what can i do to notify Google that the page is missing.

404s are a normal part of internet life. When Google determines a page no longer exists on your site (404), it will remove the page from it's index.
But why only one page is missing and all the other pages still show up?
That is normal. Google does not crawl your entire site when it visits. It may crawl a single page. It depends whether they are following a link from another site to your site, or if the crawler is making a visit to crawl your site. Even if the crawler is visiting to crawl your site, only a small percentage of your site is normally captured on any single crawl.
If your site is operating normally now, you can expect your pages to re-appear in SERPs over the course of the next 30 days. The amount of time it will take depends upon your site's DA. The basic question is how important your site is to Google. SEOmoz is considered important so pages appear within a couple hours. Other sites are less important and pages may take several weeks to appear.

[editor's note: site for escorts in Scotland, may not be safe for some workplaces]They recently got penalized but they don't have links so is not a penguin update. The client said that they noticed the drops in rank after they had their Google + account suspended. So the question is, if you have your google + account conected to the website by the rel="publisher" tag,And your google + account gets suspended, will you be getting your site penalized as well ?

Merged +Local Page - About Section Formatting?
Hi All, I'm having an issue: I recently merged my Google+ business page and +Local page, and I'm happy it's verified for local search purposes. However, I am having a supremely difficult time getting the formatting and anchor text links I inserted in the "Edit Business Section to apply; It's just one large chunk of unformatted text. Of note is the fact that the text content did actually change when approved. I made a post on Mike Blumenthal's blog about this, and he said that he generally does not recommend merging at all. Any ideas how to get my formatting and text links approved by the Google+ team? Any thoughts on the pros and cons of merging Local+ in general?

Can we publish two guest posts on one domain with same pen name but different linking website?
Can we publish two guest posts on one domain with same pen name but different linking website? Actually I have been doing guest posts with pen name “Jane Andrew” for “abc.com”(bit old and well performing website). Now I need to post for a new website “xyz.com” on some old domains (where I have already published my articles) so the situation is that I want domains and pen name to remain same but linking website would be different. I had few questions in my mind regarding that and I would be grateful if you help me getting the required information. Is it right from SEO, branding and marketing point of view? How Google interprets this? Is there any harm for the old well performing website or for the new one? And also both websites are owned and managed by the same owner.

Impact on Global SEO of Losing One Regional Site
Hi, Plans are in place to have an affiliate company take over the marketing, sale, and distribution of our products in one region of the 35 that we currently operate in. The regional site is responsible for 10% of our overall global traffic. 26% of the revenue to that specific site comes from organic search traffic. The question is whether the loss of this traffic and these pages will have any negative impact on our global SEO status?

Using Multiple Locations for Google Business/Maps
Hey MOZers, I currently work for a company with several other offices in other countries. Is it possible to set-up Google 'Business' and Google 'Maps' pages so when a user in a given country queries 'our business' on either Google 'Search' or Google 'Maps' they will receive the relevant business information for that country. For example, if an internet user in Canada enters a query for 'our business' in Canada (and we have an office in Canada) is there anyway to set up our Google Business page and Google Maps page so that user receives the contact information for the Canada office, rather than the US office? Conversely, if someone in the United States enters a search query for 'our business' is there a way to set it up so that the user receives our address in the states?

Link local online newspaper ad to newspaper's spash page or my site?
We just started advertising on the web version of our local newspaper. They suggest our ads go to a "splash page" they created for us on their site. The page haslinks , images and text taken from each of our main categories,. Plus links and feeds from our twitter and facebook pages. And a google map. This page shows a page authority 1 with 0 links. Is there any reason to link our ad to a page like this rather than going direct to our website page? Thank you Handcrafter
