Links on pages that are not cached or indexed by google

If you have access to your log files, you could check if the Googlebot useragent has visited recently.

If the page is not crawled or indexed by Google, then presumably they haven't seen the links and it doesn't count in the algorithm. It can certainly count in the minds of users who view the page. If I had a link to my site on a password restricted website that was used by the top writers at TechCrunch, I'd be quite excited because real humans are going to see that link, visit my page, and possibly write about me.
If a low-quality website has made a page that is titled "spammy link exchange page that I've noindexed and going to see how many suckers I can get to give me links that I'm really not reciprocating on" then no, that's not going to count for anything.

I'm guessing there is no way to tell for sure a link has been crawled, if its not index?

If a page has not been crawled, any links on that page can not count towards link juice or rankings. However, if a page has not been indexed or cached, that does not mean it hasn't been crawled.

Why would it not count? Many people have good reasons not to index specific pages and after all, the cached page is just a snapshot from the last crawl is it not?

Disavow Google Links
Hi Guys, one question from my side: When I disavow domains in the Google link disavow tool, do I have to disavow every subdomain of a main domain.....for example; I want to disavow the following (sub)domains safsad.mydomain.com hapdasd.mydomain.com skdkada.mydomain.com Do I have to disavow every subdomain solely or does it suffice if I disavow "mydomain.com" and when done also every subdomain of this main domain is disavowed too? I am looking for a software to keep track of the back links or link building
Hi Guys, I am very new hear. I just joined. I have a few websites that I need to manage. I am looking for a software that will allow me to manually add the links that I have been able to acquire. It would also be a bonus if it could search for the links to my site and to see if its still active. Because I have a freelancer working a few hours a week on link building and I need to keep track of the links. I am looking for something simple and good. Any suggestions? By the way, I used Raven Tools many years ago, and it had this feature. But since joining Moz, I don't want to be paying for 2 subscriptions. And I don't know if Raven still has this feature. Is there a software to help me check whether the sites that i give link to, also place my link on their site (reciprocal link)?
When i exchange links with others, i usually put their link on my site hoping that they'll do the same. Since it's impossible to check all sites whose link i have placed on my page to see if they have put a link back to me, i was wondering whether there is a kind of software to help me do that!

Link value personal pages on .edu
Many .edu colleges and universities provide students and alum a free hosting service. Here's an example: http://homepages.cae.wisc.edu/~dwilson/homepage.shtml According to SEOmoz bar, the PA=53 and DA=94. What is the banklink value from a page like this? Surely this is not the same as a backlink from www.wisc.edu, is it? Best,

Factors affecting google places citation indexing
I'm sure we have all been there; filling out yellowbook/yahoo/citysearch/merchant circle citations flawlessly, only to wait months and months for google to decide if they're worth 'attaching' to your places listing. I still believe that the number one factor for getting them to stick is consistensy of information, however my question is what factors affect the speed of 'stickiness'. I've implemented google alerts and rss feed/link pinging services to get citations from hotfrog and BOTW indexed almost the same day, however after examing the google places listing, I'm not showing them as listed as citations; which leads me to my next point; that google places could possibly have their own 'indexing rules and speed?' I've heard several suggestions on how to accelerate indexing, and quite a few of them included building backlinks TO these citations to improve pagerank. Do mozzers have any 'foolproof' ways of getting these citations to 'stick' to google places listings within days, or weeks, instead of months?
