Impressions vs. Clicks
-
How can I research why I'm getting 600 impressions and 35 clicks? My main targeted keyword is coming up in 3rd place, but the number of clicks has not gone up very much.
-
When you perform the search for "rapid drug detox" what do you see? More specifically, what would compel any user to click on your search result?
-
there are 3 google ads and 2 organic listings before your listing
-
the results are full of other sites: 8 additional adds on the page to the right of your listing. If you consider the total list you are 1 of 21 listings on the page.
-
The results above you have almost the same title so there is no reason not to click the first results. You want to offer a compelling reason to skip the #1 and 2 ranked site and click your link.
Some things to try:
-
Change your title to "Rapid Drug Detox" and nothing else to see if it helps you gain the #1 ranking.
-
Change your title to "Rapid Drug Detox - Top Safety Record!" or something similar and appropriate for your business. Other possibilities are "Rapid Drug Detox - Top Success Rates", "Rapid Drug Detox - 5 star rated", etc.
-
Change your meta description. Your current description is ok, but try others. Since your title begins with "Rapid Drug Detox" the description does not have to as well. You can summarize and say "all narcotic detox" rather then listing them all out and add other helpful info instead.
To be clear, your current title and descriptions are not necessary bad, but you are in a competitive environment and testing is required to see what changes can be made to improve your results. Try changing once a month and measuring the results. Make sure to not start counting the change until after Google captures it.
Last point, consider some changes to your site so you can improve your rankings:
-
your footer has a list of 50 states. Remove the list. It looks spammy.
-
your copyright date shows 2010, update it to 2011
-
your main testimonial only shares the bad part. The point of a testimonial is to share what a positive difference your company has made. Your current testimonial basically says "A week ago I was hooked on drugs" and that's it. Where is the happy ending? You need to complete it with "...and now thanks to MDS Rapid Drug Detox program I am finally free". There should be a link to a testimonials page on your site.
-
Examine the #1 ranked site and notice where they provide a better appearance. They have more trust symbols such as TRUSTe and other badges, for example.
The bottom line is you want more traffic. You can improve your rankings and improve your SERP listing to get better CTR. Even when that happens, you want the best possible site so you can convert that traffic into sales.

Yes - I was referring to organic searching. When I look at the data on google's webmasters tool, I am seeing a very low number of clicks in comparison to the impressions.
-
Can you please clarify what type of impressions and clicks you are referring to? I assumed it was from AdWords. I performed a Google.com search for "rapid drug detox" and I see your organic listing as #3 but I do not see any ad for your site.
Otherwise, EGOL's suggestion is the right idea. Modify the advertisement. You have a very few words to share with the goal of causing users to click your ad. Choose those words very carefully.

www.mdsdrugdetox.com; keyword: rapid drug detox

My main targeted keyword is coming up in 3rd place, but the number of clicks has not gone up very much.
Change your title... offer Free Beer or something else that will surprise them.
-
My rule of thumb is you should get 10% clicks to be average. you are only getting about 6%. so You have a bad conversion rate. You would need to let us know what the keyword is and your site, so we can look at the conversion factors.
The first thought is that you serp may look spammy. Also the industry can be a factor

Webmaster Rankings vs. Moz Rankings
Hello all. For quite some time, both Moz & Ahrefs have indicated to me that I am in first position for several keywords. However, when I go into my Google Webmaster Tools, it says that I am in 7th or 8th position. Any idea why there is such a discrepancy?

'And' vs '&'
Hi everyone This question has been running through my mind since a few days now. Does Google recognise 'and' / '&' as the same? Say for example my website url is: appleandorange.com and my keyword for my company is Apple & Orange. If i Focus on Apple & Orange for on-page SEO will google also recognise apple and orange ? Or will I have to on-page SEO seperately for Apple and orange? So for instance if I keep focusing on Apple & Orange will my website appleandorange.com appear on google? Thanks in advance

Is GKP giving accurate Broad vs. Exact results?
I'm using the Google Keyword Planner, trying to get an idea of search volume, and I'm finding that if I check "Ad Keywords As > Broad Match", I get EXACTLY the same numbers as I do if I select "Ad Keywords As > Exact Match". I even exported the spreadsheets, and put them side by side, and the only difference between them is that one has "Keyword Type > Exact" all the way down the column, while the other has "Keyword Type > Broad". How can those numbers be the same?! Anyone else seeing this, or am I doing something incorrectly?! Thanks for your input!!

Does adding the suffix "-ing" affect ranking for a keyword? E.g. "build" vs "building"
In other words, let's say the keyword I wanted to rank for was "building a home" but the SERP only showed sites ranking for "build a home". If I specifically optimized my page for "building a home" would that increase my chances for ranking for "building a home"?

Branded vs Generic keywords - is Google treating their rank equaly!?
Several times I have noticed that website receiving sort of a rankings drop penalty for certain wrongly built on-page strategies that involves keyword stuffing, wrong keyword density(too much) etc. The question is - how you guys think - is branded keywords receiving the same treatment from Google then generic ones? And here is why - for one popular brand I see that they ranking for their brand keyword very high(1th) but keyword density is awful - more then 10%. So, my guess is - if this keyword density you would apply for generic keyword you will end up nowhere to be found for it! Is that could be truth? Any experiments info about that? thanks and regards, Jungles

Plural vs singular keyword usage - on-page optimization
The on-page report card appears to include both plural and singular versions of keywords in reporting the keywords within the body, which results in a keyword stuffing warning. My question is, is it truly keyword spamming to use over 15 instances of a keyword that is spread across plural and singular versions of the keyword? If keywords are lumped together this way by Google's algorithms, why do pages rank differently for singular and plural versions of the same keyword?

Ranking Changes: Google.co.uk vs Google.com vs Google.com.au?
Why would my website appear, for example, second for a keyword search on Google.co.uk but on a search through Google.com or Google.com.au (Australia) not appear in the Top 50? Excuse the simplicity of the question!

Hunting for organic keywords: WordPress vs CodeIgniter
I want organic keywords. I'm going to create a blog. What is better: to use WordPress on subdomain or to write blog myself using CodeIgniter (considering that my website is already on CodeIgniter)
