RE: Backlinks Indexed?
Hello!
Sam from Moz's Help Team here!
So - after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more.
If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index.
You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages.
Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

RE: My DA dropped suddenly
Hey there,
Thanks for writing in and sorry about any confusion!
So overall, seeing your DA drop is a fairly common problem and can be attributed to a few things:
1.Links we previously discovered are now marked as lost.
2. You've earned more links, but the highest authority sites have grown their link profile even more.
3. The links you've earned are from sites that we haven't seen correlate well with higher Google rankings.
4. We've done a better or worse job crawling sites/pages that have links to you (or don't). You can help us to find those links using link tracking lists,It's a bit difficult to isolate the exact cause of what happened without your own SEO consultant or developer being able to take a dive into this, but you can definitely read more specific information here if you'd like to understand more about the process:).
Do let me know if you have any follow up questions!

RE: My website DA is not increasing even i have many high authority links
Hi there,
Sam from Moz's Help Team!
Domain Authority in Link Explorer and the Links section of your Moz Campaign correlates with Google rankings to give you an accurate representation of a sites's ranking power.
To understand how to improve DA (Domain Authority) it can help to get some insight into how we gather our data, which I'll include below. Sorry in advance for the long message!
To calculate DA, we index the web by following links using a crawler. Our crawler is built on a machine-learning based model that is optimized to select pages like those that appear in our collection of Google SERPs. We feed the machine learning model with features of the URL like the backlink counts for the URL and the PLD (pay-level domains), features about the URL like its length and how many subdirectories it has, and features on the quality of the domains linking to the URL and PLD. So, it's not based on any one particular metric, but we're training the crawler to start with high-value links.
In terms of improving your Domain Authority, with the information above in mind, it's best to look at both you on-page SEO to make sure you've covered the basics.
Then you also want to look at your off-site SEO and building more links more links to your site.
There are lots of different areas of Link Building to explore, from patching up broken links, improving your internal link profile, and good ol' fashioned content creation. Here is a great video by our founder Rand which goes over some easy link building tactics to get you started.
I hope that helps to start you off! Let me know if you have any other questions :]

RE: Location National vs. Country - Different Ranking
Hi there,
Sam from Moz's Help Team here!
So the thing is, our volume service doesn't understand Austria as a location - it only understands it as a search engine. They are different in that a location can be tracked in any search engine, so for example someone in Austria can still use google.com. I hope this helps - let me know if you have any other questions!

RE: Why Moz DA of my website not increasing?
Hi there, thanks for contacting us!
Sam from Moz's Help Team here
When you see a DA of 1, this will usually mean that we haven't indexed that site yet or we haven't found any inbound links for that particular site. That can happen for a number of reasons, such as we haven't found any external links to the site or the site is blocking our crawler or the site is fairly new.
When we compile our index by first crawling the more valuable pages we find and moving on from there. Specific pages may not be crawled if they have lower quality links on them or appear to be part of an unintentional link farm (for example, things like programmed calendars). If you’re wondering why we’re not identifying links to your site, I would suggest checking to make sure we’ve indexed the sites and pages you know are linking to your site.
Also, it’s important to keep in mind that with Link Explorer, new data is added all the time, so please keep an eye out for new data to be available for your site!
Moz's Spam Score is the percentage of sites with similar features we've found to be penalized or banned by Google (it's not based on the spam score of the sites linking to you). To improve this score I would recommend reading our guide which explains the 27 factors used to make up this score. You can then look at your site and investigate areas you would like to improve on your site:
https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/spam-scoreI hope this helps - please let me know if you have any other questions!

RE: Cant figture out why On-Page Grader is not recognizing the heading tag text
Hi there,
Sam from Moz's Help Team here!
So, I took a look at your Site Crawl results and your site, and I believe this is a result of our crawler's inability to work with Javascript. Any client side loaded content will not be rendered to our crawler as we are only seeing what is rendered by your server.
Our crawler works by parsing the source code of your site, looking at HTML elements. If your site is primarily Javascript, then the data you get back with regards to the crawl report won't be completely accurate because of this. There's no real workaround that I can recommend for this one, since it is a technical limitation of our tools, but there are some good blog posts and discussions in the Q&A about this if you head over to our Help Hub.
While the tools and data that rely on our crawl of your site may not return the best results because of that Javascript, your keyword rankings and link profile should work just fine.
You might also want to check out a few tools that are compatible with Javascript, like Botify or Screaming Frog.
https://www.onely.com/tools/wwjd/ is also a handy tool that makes it super easy to see where links are added or removed by javascript.I'm really sorry I can't be of more help here; Please let me know if there's anything else I can help with, or if there are any follow-up questions you might have!

RE: Duplicate Content & Title Tag Group Fields on MoZ Report
Hi Scott!
Sam from Moz's Help Team here!
The number itself doesn’t mean anything specific. The point of the number is to see what rows in the csv are affected by the same issue. So if the issue group is 9, each row that has 9 in that column is related to that issue type.
If you are wanting more in depth information re. the crawl issues I would recommend setting up a campaign and looking at the Full Site Crawl which will provide more detail re. issues and suggestions for resolving them: https://analytics.moz.com/pro/manage-campaigns
The On Demand Crawl provides more of a general overview. You can find a guide for the Site Crawl and flagged issues here: https://moz.com/help/moz-pro/site-crawl/overview - but if you need any further help, please do pop a message over to help@moz.com and we'll be happy to take a look at your results and lend a hand:).

Hi there Mike!
So I took a look, and while there is no PDF file there, you can see that on the page https://www.carburetor-parts.com/assets/manuals/Carter_ThermoQuad_Carburetor.pdf there are multiple links to other pages (category links and so on) which would be why we're still locating links on that page.

RE: Crawl depth seems off?
Hey there,
Sam from Moz's Help Team here!
So the thing to keep in mind when you set up a campaign at the root domain level is that we'll be starting the crawl from the http protocol (non-www). In this case - http://logic2020.com/. If you filter by crawl depth in your Site Crawl you'll see that URL with a crawl depth of 0.
It redirects to http://www.logic2020.com/ which has a crawl depth of 1. That URL then redirects again to https://www.logic2020.com/, which is listed with a crawl depth of 2 - hence why links we found on that page have a crawl depth of 3.
I hope this helps to clarify but let me know if you have any other questions!

RE: Keyword Explorer shows wrong data
Hi there,
Sam from Moz's Help Team here!
So our method of estimating keyword volume is a bit different from what you might see elsewhere - for instance, in Google Keyword Planner.
While we do use Keyword Planner as one source for our volume data, we also use other sources, including anonymized clickstream data. If you're seeing large discrepancies, this is usually because our data goes through a disambiguation process. Basically, Google Keyword Planner currently bundles similar keywords into one overall volume metric. The problem is that most people want more specific data rather than a grouped number, so we strive to separate out the individual keyword volumes. You can read more about that here: https://moz.com/blog/google-keyword-unplanner-clickstream-data-to-the-rescue
This difference can be jarring, because often times you will have one keyword that is responsible for probably 95+% of the traffic and a bunch of others that make up the remaining number. The keywords with the smaller portion of the traffic appear to have a big discrepancy with Keyword Planner, when in fact their traffic volume is simply more accurate in our tool.
We have an excellent article here by Russ Jones, who designed our volume bucket methodologies, on why Keyword Planner data isn't ideal in the first place:
https://moz.com/blog/google-keyword-planner-dirty-secretsOur tool strives to account for these issues and deliver better data.
For more information on how the tools compare, Britney Muller has written a great post you may also find useful:
https://moz.com/blog/moz-keyword-explorer-vs-google-keywordI hope that clarifies things! If there's anything else you need help with, just let me know!

RE: Why do i get a difficulty and CTR score in keyword explorer when there is no min or max monthly volume on a search term?
Hi there!
That's because they aren't based on search volume. Keyword Difficulty takes into account the Page Authority (PA) and Domain Authority (DA) scores of the sites ranking on the first page of Google for the given query. We also modify intelligently for the projected click-through-rate of a given page. This puts more weight on higher-ranking, more visible pages and less on lower-ranking, less visible pages. The formula also accounts for newer pages on powerful domains that may have DA scores but have not yet been assigned PA values.
You can read more about the Keyword Explorer Metrics in our Guide.
I hope this helps to clarify - if there's anything else I can help you with, feel free to reach out!

Sam from Moz's Help Team here!
Are you referring to your Campaigns? If so, unfortunately, there's no way to change the URL your Campaign is tracking once the Campaign has been created. Once a Campaign URL is set it cannot be changed because of way we track and store historical data; it would get really confusing to have data for more than one website in a single report.
The best thing I could recommend would be to create a fresh Campaign for the new URL. https://analytics.moz.com/campaigns/new
You can read more about Campaign setup here https://moz.com/help/moz-pro/getting-started/campaign-setupIf you're asking about Link Explorer, you don't need to notify us of a redirect manually - We do take 301 redirects into account in terms of our index updates. Something to note though is that for us to update any 301 link, we would need to re-discover the old pages to be able to follow and update the metrics. This is not likely common for sites with lower authority since old links are not continuously shared on new pages/articles/blogs.
Link Explorer works solely through link discovery and crawling. For every link we index/crawl, these links are not guaranteed to be re-crawled.I hope this helps answer your question! If there's anything else you need, just let me know — I'm always here if you need any help!

RE: Top Pages report
Hi there!
Sam from Moz's Help Team here - I'm afraid that no, at this stage there's no way to include those in the Top Pages report. I'll definitely pass along your feedback though!
Top Pages is simply counting up the links we found to you, to show the most frequently used URLs, so it looks like in your case that includes some image URLs. There are a few other threads I found that discuss this which may be helpful for you:
