Sam from Moz's Help Team here! Are you by any chance using iOS10? If so, unfortunately this would be the root of the problem. Moz isn't yet compatible with iOS10 (although we are compatible with earlier versions).

I'll definitely bring this up with our product team but I don't believe it is something that we're able to fix as, whatever the issue is, it's in the OS.

Generally, pages with a PA of 1, or domains with a DA of 1 haven't been indexed by us for a variety of reasons (generally, the amount and/or quality of links pointing to them).

Unfortunately, in this case it's a different issue. We don't currently support custom Top Level Domains (TLD) such as .photography - this would explain why there's no data for this site in our Index.

Sadly I don't know of a good workaround for this - it's a technical limitation of the tool. I know we plan to expand the list of TLDs we support, but I'm not sure what kind of timeframe we can expect before new TLDs will be supported. Here is how you can turn off your Moz Local auto-renew in 3 steps:

1. Head to your Moz Local dashboard and click the "Subscriptions" tab on the side nav bar https://moz.com/local/bulk/managed/subscriptions
2. Click on the subscription level your listing is under
   Check all tabs for additional listings https://screencast.com/t/TryyRQbWFtwe
3. In the Options dropdown to the right of your listing, hit "Disable Auto-renewal" https://screencast.com/t/n7VNCEfb

If you decide you'd like your listing to renew again, all you'll need to do is choose "Enable Auto-renewal" from your Options dropdown.

It's hard to pinpoint what could be happening here without a specific example/side by side comparison, but there could be a variety of things coming into play in terms of why you're seeing such dramatic fluctuations. One of these could be that in Open Site Explorer, you might be alternating between looking at the results for 'this page'/'this subdomain'/'this root domain' - all of which could present wildly different results. It's also completely normal to see fluctuations in DA and the number of links because sample sizes and sources fluctuate in each index update. Rand actually wrote a really great summation of the reasons for DA drops here, but I'll summarise below for you:

1.You've earned relatively more or less links over the course of the last 30-90 days.
2. You've earned more links, but the highest authority sites have grown their link profile even more.
3. The links you've earned are from places that we haven't seen correlate well with higher Google rankings.
4. We've done a better or worse job crawling sites/pages that have links to you (or don't).

We collect our link index data by starting our crawler on a few highest ranking sites and letting it perform a breadth first search to see what it finds. For each page that we crawl, we first collect each of it’s links before following these and collecting the details of each page that these link to and so on. There’s a set limit of links that we’ll crawl per page and pages that we’ll crawl per site so it’s expected that we may not follow every link on your site this way and the results may change from index to index. Other things could affect our ability to find certain links within your site from index to index, such as 404/server errors etc - any potential problem within your site at the time we crawled it that prevented us from finding the links we otherwise would have.

As far as I'm aware, Google and other crawlers do crawl past the '?', unless certain parameters are disallowed within the robots.txt. If the URL is: https://test.com/exemple/?per_page=9, a search engine will see something like test com exemple 'search' etc. Google recommends blocking all Internal Search Results in the Robots.txt file - for Rogerbot, it would look something like this

User-agent: Rogerbot
Disallow: ?utm

Just to clarify, that 453 number represents the amount of keywords you have left to add. You would want to take 750-453 to find out exactly how many keywords have been used already.

Each keyword you add to each campaign will be counted as a separate keyword, and you won't see any added to one campaign show up in another campaign.

Any keywords you're adding in "Add & Manage" will be added to the Tracked Keywords list for whichever specific campaign you're in when you head to "Add & Manage". After adding keywords in that section, the tally at the top will change but it's just letting you know how many more keywords you have available for use across all of your campaigns:).

The keywords you see under "Add & Manage Keywords" tallies the keywords across all of your campaigns. So if for example you see something like "453 of 750 keywords available", this means that out of 750 keywords available to you on your subscription level, you've used 297 of them in total across all of your campaigns, and still have 453 left for use - whereas the keyword total under "Tracked Keywords Overview" is isolated to the number of keywords being tracked in the specific campaign you're looking at.

I've taken a look at that URL, and from what I can see it looks like we're running into a 403 error which means that ultimately, access to that URL is forbidden:

This 403 error is coming directly from your server, so at this point the best thing to do will be to send this information to your client/their web dev. They'll need to make sure our crawler (rogerbot) is whitelisted, so our tools can start working hard for you, and that you aren't blocking AWS (Amazon Web Services) on the server level.

Sorry to hear you're running into trouble! Creating a list in Keyword Explorer with international search engine data involves just one extra step.

1. Go to Keyword Explorer, and enter one of your keywords. Choose your desired search engine, and click on the magnifying glass.
2. Now, you'll create a list with this keyword/search engine. On the right side of your screen, you'll see " + Create New List." Click on this button.
3. Name your list, and click Save.
4. You can now access this list by going back to the Keyword Explorer main page (https://moz.com/explorer/).
5. Click on this list, and add keywords by clicking on "Enter Keywords." Copy/paste your list of keywords, and click Save.

This will now gather metrics in the search engine you originally selected! If you wish to bulk upload a keyword list via CSV, you can find the formatting guidelines on this page: https://moz.com/help/guides/keyword-explorer#frequently-asked-questions - you would want to adjust the 'locale' column to fit with your desired search engine, eg. en-CA, en-US, and so on prior to uploading.

When you upload a keyword list, we are actually running a full keyword report on that keyword - so this would have removed some of your available keyword queries. I'm really sorry about that.

This could simply be a case where that example you've linked has the results filtered to 'this page' as opposed to 'this root domain' or 'this subdomain'. If instead you filter by root domain, you should see a far higher number of links populate in OSE.

If I plug in that exact URL, I am now seeing the same results that Linda mentioned for the DA (5) and PA (21) (with and without the https). I'm also seeing 6 inbound links!

Something to keep in mind is that is actually expected that we won’t find every page and link because we aren’t looking for them all! When we collect this data, we’re looking specifically for the most valuable links and, rather than crawling your entire site or every site, we collect this by starting our crawler on a few highest ranking sites and letting it perform a breadth first search to see what it finds.

For each page that we crawl, we first collect each of it’s links before following these and collecting the details of each page that these link to and so on. There’s a set limit of links that we’ll crawl per page and pages that we’ll crawl per site so it’s expected that we may not follow every link on a site this way.

So, if we haven't followed all of the links that exist because of this, they won't contribute to your overall DA or PA.

Most new sites and links will be indexed by our spiders and available in Mozscape and Open Site Explorer within 60 days, but some take even longer for many reasons - including the crawl-ability of sites, the number of inbound links to them, and the depth of pages in subdirectories.

This can be a little hard to pinpoint without looking at your specific campaign, but here goes! We currently only track rankings within the top 50 results, so any URL that is not within the top 50 ranking results for the keyword you are looking at will show the ranking as "--" which means no data.

Our Search Visibility score represents your overall ranking performance for your tracked keywords. It’s calculated by:

• Taking all of your keywords and the associated URL’s position and applying a CTR for each position.
• The CTRs are then summed
• This number is then divided by the total number of keywords.

If your Search Visibility score is 0%, that means you have no pages ranking in the top 50 spots in the SERPs.

To be completely transparent, the Spam Scores you see in Open Site Explorer are from data collected last year. That means some of the issues listed there might no longer apply to you, or they might have been fixed as you've worked on your site. If you know you've taken care of the issues, then you shouldn't need to worry about the spam flags any longer. We actually don't include any 301s when we crawl a site to assign spam score.  The score you see now for the 301 would be from an old crawl that will eventually disappear from the index.

Additionally, just because our tool has assigned a site a specific spam score does not mean it is impacting the site in any way. These are merely suggestions of sites to check out. If you haven't determined yourself that they are spammy links, then there is no action or further concern required on your part.

Sorry to hear about the problems you're running into with the MozBar:(. We have been experiencing some troubles with the tool, and have updated our Health Page to reflect this. Our engineers are working a complete overhaul on the back end to resolve the issues people have been seeing.

A few issues similar to the one you've mentioned have been resolved by uninstalling and reinstalling the MozBar - could you give this a shot to see if it helps?

Our Page Authority (PA) is a metric that comes from our Mozscape Index. You can read more about the metric here. Much of the time, pages that have a PA of 1 haven't yet been discovered by our index crawler. You can always use Open Site Explorer to check on whether they are included in the index, and which links we have discovered.

Small sites generally won't stay in our index if we don't find new links to a domain. Our cache will remove a link after 190 days unless re-crawled. You can look in Just Discovered (https://moz.com/researchtools/ose/just-discovered?site=moz.com&filter=&source=&target=page&page=1&sort=crawled) to see if your domain is in queue for re-indexing from new discovered links. If not, you will want to keep link building on sites that have high authority and are likely able to be picked up.

You can see our most recently updated index schedule here as well as some more technical metrics on our Mozscape API Updates page. You can also see when the last and next updates happened on the Open Site Explorer (OSE) homepage at any time.

Just a few points on how we compile our index:

• We grab the most recent index.
• We take the top 10 billion URLs with the highest MozRank (with a fixed limit on some of the larger domains).
• We start crawling from the top down until we've crawled ~130 billion URLs

The idea here is that we're focusing on the highest-quality links we can find, coming from the most prominent pages of authoritative sites. So, while you may not see every link for a site within our index, we're aiming to report the most valuable ones available!

Most new sites and links will be indexed by our spiders and available in Mozscape and Open Site Explorer within 60 days, but some take even longer for many reasons - including the crawl-ability of sites, the number of inbound links to them, and the depth of pages in subdirectories.

To be fully transparent, our Spam Score metrics haven't been updated in some time, so they're not fully current. If you've made progress towards reducing the links from spammy sites going to your site in recent weeks and months, this likely will not be reflected in Open Site Explorer until our Spam Scores update. (Unfortunately, I don't have an ETA on when that will be - sorry about that!).

So, it's entirely possible that Google is no longer penalizing these sites and that they're not considered spammy by Google any longer. I know that makes our Spam Analysis tool not super helpful, since it isn't up to date, but I hope this helps to explain why you're still seeing those spam scores.
