Maybe also serve them from a CDN (Content delivery network) for added speed and performance gains to go with your Alt tag edits.

As a side note, I would also look to make sure all images have been compressed via something like lossless compression to reduce their file size and hence speed up your site for another boost.
A cool online free tool I use is compressor.io. In general the quality remains, but you can often reduce filesize by anything up to 50%.
Again this might be lengthy but should help users when visiting your site etc.

I would seriously think again when it comes to blocking/no-indexing your CSS and JS files - Google has in the past stated that if they cannot fully render your site properly then this could lead to poorer rankings.
You will also likely get notifications in your Search Console as errors for this too.

This also applies for me everytime I click on a response from a moz post it locks up my outlook for a period of time before opening the preview etc.
I think it is due to an image issue on the responses - the user thumbnails being delivered from CloudFront are not showing and is trying to connect but fails taking some time. - it opens in browser fine.
Hope this helps - is it the same issue for everyone else?
Could it be due to the email trying to pull an image from a HTTPS source location?

I read up on this today, like Peter and Dmitri suggest you may want to point your customers to a new location when requesting reviews, but despite not showing on the G+ local page the reviews should still be available elsewhere on the maps and search results. There was an article on it from SEORoundTable yesterday too.

However the Moz metrics and others all pointed to something happening. I would suggest monitoring all yours sites closely for the time being.
Knowing Google they probably did do something!
Alternatively, I suppose the changes could also be tied to the timeframe in which yours sites have been crawled by Google, as such some of your changes could also have had an impact.

Although adding a no-index will no doubt remove the page from the index, my suggestion would be to implement a canonical tag which you can use to point to the original/best source page. This way any links from the page will still be used for internal site crawling etc.
This way you are actually telling google that you have similar pages but one is the best that you want for indexation purposes.

Have you read the following post from Rand/Moz about the recent index changes. This is likely the main reason behind the change in your PA and any fluctuations you have seen.
I would suggest looking at your competitors who have similar content and pages to see if they too have also seen this same drop as in many cases the change is relative to others in your niche/area etc.

Absolutely as seoman10 stated, you may get a few links back, however if there are a few dodgy links now would be a good time to look into having them either redirected or elect for them to considered a 404 and request that the urls be removed from the index.
If some of the 404s have a relevant page on the new site, consider redirect the old link via 301 to a similar new page.

I would not disavow the link at all. If you want the /some_product page to be seen as one stand alone product simply implement a canonical meta tag to the page which in effect tells google what page is the original source file.

RE: Hello, our domain authority dropped significantly overnight from 37 to 29\. We have been building good links from high DA pages and producing quality, regular content.
This will likely be due to the new index that was released, your domain authority is relative to the index and sites contained in the index. The new index was smaller, but is now fixed and will likely give you more accurate figures.

After you have checked out any possible WP issues suggested by Tymen, also look into Moz Local and check to see how many of the local ranking strong signal sites you have connected to your client. This will hopefully give your clients site an added boost by having additional confirmed NAP data to organically connect with their site.

The code is definately a bit of a mess.
Due to the second rel being rel='nofollow' this link will likely be a no follow.
Secondly in order for it to be accurately used as a follow it should be rel="follow" not rel="dofollow" as this does not exist. For a link to be a naturally followed link you do not even need to use the rel="" tag.

I too also agree with the above.
To me the best solution is serving images of different sizes and resolutions based on device and connection speed, this way the customers should get a balance between speed and quality.
E.g. serve a x2 res image on retina or retina equivalent if the speed dictates that this is an option. alternatively, if it is a slow device connection, say via limited broadband speed, serve a lower resolution/file size to ensure at least something is delivered in an optimised speed.
I would suggest playing and finding the right balance for your site and market.
Finally, I find that using SVG images is the best for gaining a speed advantage.

That is a great resource from Tom. his three initial points are also my top elements. I would also think you could consider breaking your traffic down into sources and mediums. Organic, CPC, Email etc to help show your clients where the traffic is coming from
Also in today's ever increasing mobile market, also a breakdown of traffic by device.

We would need a URL to further try and diagnose the issue, feel free to send a DM with it in. But from what I can see your site is failing to access the font files used to style up the text on the site. they could be referenced in your meta or css etc.
Check your remote directory on FTP to ensure that these files have been correctly uploaded and are on the remote server.

Before you worry to much I would check the Rich Snippet testing Tool from Google to ensure your review schema is all in working order. Could you have implemented the wrong type of review rating.
Secondly, I have seen this happening more and more of late, often through no fault of a webmasters, but purely down to Google choosing to no longer display the organic stars.
If it is the latter they may return in time.

I hope this is not too simple an answer, but schema.org is my go to place. Depending on the page or content you can simply select the type and then normally at the bottom of each type of content there is an example of its applciation in html mircodata or via json. I hope this help.

Not really sure about what to say except, yeah pretty much. This happens quite a lot for me on a couple of my key phrases that I have worked hard to optimise. Depending on either of the searches we rank well.
But remember it is not just about the phrase but all of the peripheral page and site optimisation that also contribute to the page doing well as without all of the elements coming together you may lack behind any competitors / authorities.

For me if the other site has very few quality /relevant backlinks that will help and you are not planning on using the domain for brand purposes then there is very little need to link it up. I would instead look to concentrate on improving your own pages with the best content you can muster.
Having an exact match domain that is not being used as the primary sites URL will not likely add any value. I believe EMD don't really hold any value like they once did and it is more about the content, although some may disagree.
As it is a .co.uk however, you could still buy it to hold on to for the sake of a few pounds and possibly use it for a campaign URL used in adwords or on printed flyers.

Before even thinking about this have you checked and looked into the backlink profile of this domain and performed some kind of audit, there could be a whole heap of nasty links still pointing at the site just waiting to be reignited which may potentially do some harm. On the flip side, it could also be a boost if they are good sources of relevance. But perform some due diligence on the domain before pointing anywhere..

For B2B I would imagine that LinkedIn would be a good start.
But as with any social platform I would try and get on all the big players - so Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, G+ from a business page perspective. Having a presence is better than none at all. It is a good place to add any of your blog content, competitions, promotions etc.
Maybe use a tool like Hootsuite that can connect all of your major accounts in one place, so you can post to all social channels with just one post, helping to save you time and effort, but still helping to maximise exposure.
You might be surprised by the social traction you gain.

Also, do not forget the old timely B2B email, with promo offers and product updates, if you have a large email list you can generate from purchasers you already have an audience you can market too. These same audiences can also be applied to some of your social channels for further targeting.

For me, go for more links on relevant football related sites / fan forums / US sports colleges, places where your products will likely be seen and have genuine interest in rather than directories, as per Oleg also maybe have an alternative en-us site.
If you are truly looking to broaden your horizons and eventually have a presence in the US, I would suggest developing a series of useful export partnerships with key members in the US who can advocate for your products and link to your site, then once you have a foothold, maybe look to introduce shippers and use them as the address for local us services.
If and only if this takes off, it may be time to have a US base/office for committing to the US market.

I find the BMM keywords to be very useful, that is providing you monitor and negative those erroneous keywords that trigger wrongful searches. With BMM you get as Alick300 mentioned a broader spread with those keywords needing to be included, as such they could be found when your exact is entered the other way round if two words or if the phrase is much longer but still contains all keywords.
For me the best tool to compliment BMM is your negative list so over time your campaign becomes more and more accurate with scope for your CTR, and CPC to improve.

The SameAs (property of thing) is only for URLs that can be attributed as the same item.
URL of a reference Web page that unambiguously indicates the item's identity. E.g. the URL of the item's Wikipedia page, Freebase page, or official website. I am not sure there is a variant for keywords and global terms. You could try name and alternateName.

Ah so each chair can have up to 300+ fabrics available to it. That is a very customisable chair. I was expecting you to say a few colour options, a few leg options and few fabric options etc, not into the hundreds. You could make the UX/UI relatively easy to understand if presented in a nice step by step guide once a user has landed on the chairs page. e.g. Step 1: Choose your legs, Step 2: Choose your fabric , Step 3: Choose a colour.
If this is a definate no go In that case I would imagine that you would need to try and do a little more on the unique content front for each item. I know that will be a pain, but getting your H1, title and first paragraphs, product alt tags, product schema to include the product name will be imperative. If the rest of the product is similar it will be very hard to make each totally unique.

Hmmmmm 300+ pages all with very similar content. This would make it difficult to canonicalise to just one product of each type.
Rather than having lots of different pages with just blue chair, green chair, red chair. Could you simply not just have chair and then as an option the colour within the page.

Options - red, cream, black , tan [make a selection box/check box to choose] This way you have just one item that can be optimised be the main item.Hope that helps.

The og:title is a meta property that hes been defined for objects in a social graph. They are used for example by Facebook. It will not directly replace your tag, but support it for other platforms searchabilty.

It is because the widget is trying to reference a HTTP:// site from your HTTPS:// I often get the same issue when trying to reference an image when its is not on the same SSL domain.
Mozcast does not sit behind an SSL.

In that case, if you can I would definitely try and create some unique content for these category pages, I understand it can be difficult when talking about boxes when they all kind of do the same thing. Storage boxes, moving boxes, cardboard boxes, plastic boxes, containers.... what do they all do? they store and hold things right!.
I used to work for a large national office supplies company so know your pain, but a little extra content may help make a difference if you really need a particular category page to rank better against your competitors in what is already a very difficult and competitive area.

By canonicalising the SKU page to your intended landing/product page I think you are doing the best option for your situation, that is providing the URL features the product name etc. You seem to be very clued up and by the sounds of it doing everything right, I would not think that people in general would search for a SKU so having the other page as the dominant authority page is probably best.
However, as an option rather than having two pages surely you could have just one and have the search facility on your site pull back the landing page based in the SKU as a filterable/searchable element.
That way you would not need to have multiple pages and have to create double the unique content as you would only have once page to look after.
As for the similar pages, I agree adding some unique content to help differentiate them would help.

I was reading a very timely, if not the same issue article today from Barry Schwartz over at SEO Round Table. He has been following a conversation from Gary Illyes at Google, whom apparently does not recommend removing content from a site to help you recover from a Panda issue, but rather recommends increasing the number of higher quality pages etc.
If you are continuing to get more traffic by adding your new larger higher quality articles, I would simply continue in the same vein. There is no reason why you cannot still continue to share your content on social platforms too.
In the past I may have suggested removing some thin/outsdated content and repointing to a newer more relevant piece, but in light of this article I now may start to think a tad differently. Hopefully some of the other Mozzers might have more thoughts on Barry's post too.

Hmmm, this is probably a devisive question. For me if they are genuine legitimate reviews then it should not be too much of an issue although some sites were recently hit for manipulative fake reviews etc. Rather than using an external review site I for your emailed in survey results I would suggest hosting them on your own site. maybe www.yourdomain.com/reviews or on any particular product pages. You can still use schema mark up on these to gain an organic star rating in the serps.
If you want to get a CTR boost to your adwords content, again with a star rating, then I would suggest re-soliciting your old reviewers with a link and kindly ask them to resubmit their review on your chosen review site. You could also try using Google consumer surveys.
